😢😢😢😢 He destroyed every woman he came in contact with. Lacey her mother even Amber. She didn't know initially and she did try to help the police get information. The press villified her. But Lacey died so tragically why not just leave her. Lacey's poor mothers heart is forever broken.

I watched the trial, and, granted, it was more than a decade ago, so I don't know if I am remembering correctly, but Amber was having some kind of issue with her daughter's father. Scott was "the baby" and the center of attention growing up. Someone's theory (the prosecution? the commentators on CourtTV?) was that Amber's connection to her daughter's father woke Scott up to the fact that having a baby with Laci would tie him down and tie him to her for the rest of his life. If he killed her, he could once again be footloose and fancy-free.
Considering he told amber his wife was dead and it was his first Christmas alone......and she died Christmas Eve...he planned it the moment he told amber that.
The fact that he had multiple affairs, he lied repeatedly about not being married but then lied about telling Amber he did tell her he was married, had stated he did not want a child (I mean people have killed for less let's get real), bought a boat without telling anyone, couldn't even tell people what he was fishing for, couldn't even bring himself to beg for her life, and was telling everyone she's 'missing' before they even found her body...he's definitely guilty in my opinion.
I was born and raised in Modesto, CA. I was in the 6th grade and I remember having Lacy Peterson as a substitute teacher. This story is so tragic and disturbing. R.I.P. Lacy & baby Connor 🙏🏾❤️
I didn't have her as a teacher but I used to live off of Yosemite and Lincoln. This was so crazy when it happened. I remember how hard it was to get close to their neighborhood because of all of the news vans being parked up. I just ended up avoiding that area until the media backed off.
Commenting 2 years pregnant I was recently sick for about 6 weeks and pregnant. Not fun lol. But I know it will be worth it! I have a 19 year old son and 15 year old daughter, so starting over! Lol
Fun fact: My mom was pregnant with me at the same time Laci Peterson was pregnant. When this story hit the news, it touched her and she named me after Laci Peterson! This story has always blown my mind. It's devastating.

I’m from Modesto, I was in High School when all this happen and my best friend lived down the street from the Peterson’s. Never knew them personally but I remember going to her candle vigil and thinking it was very strange that he wasn’t more upset about his wife and unborn child missing. He didn’t shed a tear. Even as a teen, I knew something wasn’t right. Guilty af and I hope he rots in prison.

Jeez this story hits so close to home. Modesto is my hometown and lived here most of my life. Lacy was my substitute teacher in middle school. The whole town was insane when this happened.

He might have done it but that's not a valid reason. People make up excuses like their granddad died so they don't have to go to work... Later on they do die doesn't mean they killed them.

Those who watched the movie GONE GIRL... This is the story where “gone girl” is from. Such a sad story.. Yep, I saw the movie first and then found out about the case later. I immediately thought of "Gone Girl". Even Scott's relationship with his sister is eerily similar to the movie's characters.
That was my theory too because the dog running around the neighborhood on a leash just seemed too odd. It would be difficult to sneak up on his wife and abduct her while she was walking. It would be easier just to say get in let's go somewhere, but then she would take the dog with her in the car.

From what I’ve read, the “acquaintance” that introduced Scott to Amber didn’t know Scott was married. This “acquaintance “ found out that Scott was married and threatened to tell Amber if Scott didn’t. Scott agreed and that’s when he went crying to Amber telling her how he was married at one point. Scott told Amber that he had “lost his wife” but never said she was dead. If you look for the phone calls, there’s a part where Amber tells Scott “You said you lost your wife a month ago before she went missing” to which he responds, “There’s different types of lost”. I love love LOVE Bailey but there’s some wrong information in this video. It’s tough looking through so many resources so it’s understandable.
Also, his family found it suspicious when he would take off pictures from a board where they had pictures of Laci. He’d say not to use certain pictures (pictures where he would come out in). It’s assumed that he was trying to avoid the camera, so Amber wouldn’t see him and find out he was married.
He only washed his clothes. She didn’t know about the boat but her hair was on the boat. They were married he wanted her inheritance money. He had three affairs over the course of their marriage. And he didn’t take a polygraph test. He tried to run away. Changed his appearance. They found her body at the bay that he continued to visit. All signs point to him it was him.
Would he get the inheritance had he gotten away with it? She was only 27 when she died and the inheritance was supposed to be hers after she turned 30.
Bailey, Ray Charles could see that he did this. 1. He told his girlfriend she passed before he killed her. 2. He had his boat in the same area she was found. 3. He started clearing out her clothes and baby stuff before they were found. I'd keep my baby things in that room and my wife's things probably indefinitely. 4. He died his hair and took 15k out of the bank and was headed to Mexico. I really don't think the question is: DID HE DO IT. the question is: WHY
well people lie about their spouses being dead the whole time when there’s indefinitely involved, it way easier for the mistress to accept that he was married and lost his wife than him being currently married second the whole thing about him taking his boat there was used against police because they did search that area multiple times with professionals & found nothing and it’s not like he could’ve went back and placed it there he was being watched by the police the whole time. That to me signifies that a 3rd party was involved, weather they were an accomplice if his or if they acted alone is a different story.

I watched “ The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story” like 20 times at least and the actors and actresses made it so believable. The actress who plays her mom broke my heart when she discovered it was Laci and Connor. Her scream was just heart wrenching 😞
I grew up in Modesto. My sister went to school with Laci. It was terrible and shook my small city. My sis says Laci was always happy and smiling. And that’s her best memory of her. RIP Laci and Conner.

As someone who lived in California close to Modesto at the time, and who followed the trial, Scott laughed and smirked through the entire trial. The jury was totally sequestered for the entire lengthy trial. Tbh, based on Scott's demeanor and body language, he is a monster.

The jury wasn’t sequestered. You should watch the Hulu documentary. They were allowed to go home every night. The jurors even talk about how they knew stuff from watching the news but kept it secret because they knew they’d be dismissed. A few were dismissed. He legit didn’t get a fair trial.

His friend didnt know that he was married. The reason why his confession to Amber that his wife was dead seems so random is because she had found out about his wife and was upset that he let her set the two up. He wanted to talk to Amber before his friend had the chance to tell her the truth.
Bailey got the info wrong. Scott wanted to date (or hook up)his female friend. She felt uncomfortable due to the fact that she didn't see Scott in that way. So the female friend gave Amber's number. Amber was single and the female friend saw nothing wrong with introducing them. The female friend did not know that Scott was married. The female friend was from work and Scott met her during one of the business trips. Scott took his ring off a lot when on business trips. So, the female friend did not know he was married. Period.
Weird Trivia: In the film "Demolition Man", shortly before Simon Phoenix's parole hearing, we see a shot of the docket for the day. The name 'Scott Peterson' can be seen on the list, even though the film came out many years before this case hit the news. What a spooky coincidence!

I've seen cases of people catfishing others, and telling them they're in the hospital, that their mother just died, they just got hit by a car or that they have cancer. Even saw cases where they made another account posing as a friend, telling the person that they just died, just to get away with the lies. People lie about horrible things just to cover up.
This is one of the best reviews of the Scott Peterson case. I've watched many documentaries regarding this case but this time I learned some new and interesting facts.
That's hearsay, and not really plausible evidence, UNLESS he said that to Amber while he was being secretly recorded.... but he said that before Amber got involved w/ police. It's not about what you know, but what you can prove.

So in my opinion he definitely did it. His actions are just too shady. But Bailey pointed out that there was no way he could have gotten a fair trial. And that worries me because of some loop hole he might could get a new trial and get away with it.

It’s not based on it at all the author didn’t base it on any true crime case , when it came out she did see a parallel between her story and laci and Scott’s case

I know loads of women who have loved pregnancy, even the rough ones and then there are those like my sister who, apart from a bit of stress at the beginning leading to an early first scan, had a pretty much problem free pregnancy aside from being hot (in her defence it was a hot summer), who absolutely hated being pregnant. Amber did what she did because she wanted Scott behind bars before he could hurt someone else. If Scott hadn't been caught I could see him doing something like this but thankfully he's where he needs to be.
I commend Amber for this. Like get mad at your partner too and don’t let them get away with cheating and blame everything on the other person. This is kinda unrelated but I don’t get why people would get mad at the person that their partner cheated on them with and not their partner themselves. In this case Amber didn’t know the truth and their partners is at fault as well for cheating and causing them pain.

Dig deeper into the story and multiple witnesses say they saw laci walking the dog and a couple of guys were harassing her telling her to shut the dog up.. not to mention the house directly across the street had been broken into. People in this case don’t understand what beyond a reasonable doubt means... the fact other pregnant women turned up missing and found in the same manner leaves room for doubt. He was convicted by the media and less about facts and actual evidence... the fact you’re saying him using detergent to wash his clothes was “suspicious”, when in reality EVERYONE uses detergent to wash their clothes. 🙄

People can create false memories without realizing it. It’s possible that the neighbors thought they saw her walking the dog that morning when it might’ve been a different day.

Yes walking a dog is such a mundane task it’s highly unlikely they would remember specific days she walked the dog. They just think they did because she did it regularly. If she walked the dog in a clown costume and they described what was different about that day, THEN we could say this eye witness testimony was reliable.
The psychology behind your point applies to a certain amount of time has to pass by in order for people to forget and create false memories. If they interviewed witnesses shortly after it happened your point is unlikely to be true.

The fact that he had multiple affairs, he lied repeatedly about not being married but then lied about telling Amber he did tell her he was married, had stated he did not want a child (I mean people have killed for less let's get real), bought a boat without telling anyone, couldn't even tell people what he was fishing for, couldn't even bring himself to beg for her life, and was telling everyone she's 'missing' before they even found her body...he's definitely guilty in my opinion.

I didn't have her as a teacher but I used to live off of Yosemite and Lincoln. This was so crazy when it happened. I remember how hard it was to get close to their neighborhood because of all of the news vans being parked up. I just ended up avoiding that area until the media backed off.

I’m from Modesto, I was in High School when all this happen and my best friend lived down the street from the Peterson’s. Never knew them personally but I remember going to her candle vigil and thinking it was very strange that he wasn’t more upset about his wife and unborn child missing. He didn’t shed a tear. Even as a teen, I knew something wasn’t right. Guilty af and I hope he rots in prison.

I’m still reading Sharon Rocha’s book For Laci and I’m getting Cindy Watts vibes from Scott’s mother. The Petersons have treated the Rochas terribly after Scott was arrested. ☹️ I also got from her perspective that Scott never wanted to have a child but Laci did. From what I’ve read, the “acquaintance” that introduced Scott to Amber didn’t know Scott was married. This “acquaintance “ found out that Scott was married and threatened to tell Amber if Scott didn’t. Scott agreed and that’s when he went crying to Amber telling her how he was married at one point. Scott told Amber that he had “lost his wife” but never said she was dead. If you look for the phone calls, there’s a part where Amber tells Scott “You said you lost your wife a month ago before she went missing” to which he responds, “There’s different types of lost”. I love love LOVE Bailey but there’s some wrong information in this video. It’s tough looking through so many resources so it’s understandable.
Also, his family found it suspicious when he would take off pictures from a board where they had pictures of Laci. He’d say not to use certain pictures (pictures where he would come out in). It’s assumed that he was trying to avoid the camera, so Amber wouldn’t see him and find out he was married.
He only washed his clothes. She didn’t know about the boat but her hair was on the boat. They were married he wanted her inheritance money. He had three affairs over the course of their marriage. And he didn’t take a polygraph test. He tried to run away. Changed his appearance. They found her body at the bay that he continued to visit. All signs point to him it was him.

second the whole thing about him taking his boat there was used against police because they did search that area multiple times with professionals & found nothing and it’s not like he could’ve went back and placed it there he was being watched by the police the whole time. That to me signifies that a 3rd party was involved, weather they were an accomplice if his or if they acted alone is a different story.

I grew up in Modesto. My sister went to school with Laci. It was terrible and shook my small city. My sis says Laci was always happy and smiling. And that’s her best memory of her. RIP Laci and Conner.

As someone who lived in California close to Modesto at the time, and who followed the trial, Scott laughed and smirked through the entire trial. The jury was totally sequestered for the entire lengthy trial. Tbh, based on Scott's demeanor and body language, he is a monster.

The jury wasn’t sequestered. You should watch the Hulu documentary. They were allowed to go home every night. The jurors even talk about how they knew stuff from watching the news but kept it secret because they knew they’d be dismissed. A few were dismissed. He legit didn’t get a fair trial.

Why would anyone’s “friend” try to “hook them up” with someone WHEN THEYRE MARRIED AND THE WIFE IS PREGNANT?! What kinda friend is that?! I hope they have trouble sleeping at night.

I thought the same exact thing. But then I read in the comments that he was lying to the friend as well and the friend didn't even know he was married.
His friend didnt know that he was married. The reason why his confession to Amber that his wife was dead seems so random is because she had found out about his wife and was upset that he let her set the two up. He wanted to talk to Amber before his friend had the chance to tell her the truth.

Bailey got the info wrong. Scott wanted to date (or hook up)his female friend. She felt uncomfortable due to the fact that she didn't see Scott in that way. So the female friend gave Amber's number. Amber was single and the female friend saw nothing wrong with introducing them. The female friend did not know that Scott was married. The female friend was from work and Scott met her during one of the business trips. Scott took his ring off a lot when on business trips. So, the female friend did not know he was married. Period.
Weird Trivia: In the film "Demolition Man", shortly before Simon Phoenix's parole hearing, we see a shot of the docket for the day. The name 'Scott Peterson' can be seen on the list, even though the film came out many years before this case hit the news. What a spooky coincidence!

I've seen cases of people catfishing others, and telling them they're in the hospital, that their mother just died, they just got hit by a car or that they have cancer. Even saw cases where they made another account posing as a friend, telling the person that they just died, just to get away with the lies. People lie about horrible things just to cover up.

Yeah sorry his it was "too cold" defense really doesn't hold up. He lived in Modesto and I'm assuming he was probably going to be golfing more inland closer to his home. Being in the bay, off of the Berkeley Marina in December is going to be about 10° colder and much more windy.

Just FYI for people wondering - yes the movie “Gone Girl” (and the book) is loosely based off this case. It’s obviously not the exact same - but there are some similarities which the author took inspiration from this case.

I know loads of women who have loved pregnancy, even the rough ones and then there are those like my sister who, apart from a bit of stress at the beginning leading to an early first scan, had a pretty much problem free pregnancy aside from being hot (in her defence it was a hot summer), who absolutely hated being pregnant.

@Bonnie Urso She also took a polygraph test and she passed it with flying colors. She truly had no knowledge of what Scott did to Laci and his unborn son. Amber did what she did because she wanted Scott behind bars before he could hurt someone else. If Scott hadn't been caught I could see him doing something like this but thankfully he's where he needs to be.
I commend Amber for this. Like get mad at your partner too and don’t let them get away with cheating and blame everything on the other person.
This is kinda unrelated but I don’t get why people would get mad at the person that their partner cheated on them with and not their partner themselves. In this case Amber didn’t know the truth and their partners is at fault as well for cheating and causing them pain.

Dig deeper into the story and multiple witnesses say they saw laci walking the dog and a couple of guys were harassing her telling her to shut the dog up.. not to mention the house directly across the street had been broken into. People in this case don’t understand what beyond a reasonable doubt means... the fact other pregnant women turned up missing and found in the same manner leaves room for doubt. He was convicted by the media and less about facts and actual evidence... the fact you’re saying him using detergent to wash his clothes was “suspicious”, when in reality EVERYONE uses detergent to wash their clothes. 🙄

People can create false memories without realizing it. It’s possible that the neighbors thought they saw her walking the dog that morning when it might’ve been a different day.

Yes walking a dog is such a mundane task it’s highly unlikely they would remember specific days she walked the dog. They just think they did because she did it regularly. If she walked the dog in a clown costume and they described what was different about that day, THEN we could say this eye witness testimony was reliable.
The psychology behind your point applies to a certain amount of time has to pass by in order for people to forget and create false memories. If they interviewed witnesses shortly after it happened your point is unlikely to be true.
