lmfao same here. i still have my character with no resistences or armor because i thought the "+x skill" was a good idea to keep from level 15. I played it earlier today and was like 'wtf this build does insane damage, why didn't i play it?" then i died within 2 shots in elite on act 1 of regular mobs. XD

Appreciate it. The fresh starts are more for myself honestly :) I did one character with merits and Lokarr's set and it was kind of boring. To each their own though. I know a lot of people only play on normal and wont level without xp pots etc.

I tried a ranged Purifier build once and hated it because I kept shooting barrels and whatnot unintentionally while trying to move, so I deleted it rather quickly. Didn't even realize the "move to" break objects option would help remedy that (duh me). Me learning from Paikis once again! Now I am actually contemplating trying one again, although probably will go the Dual Rutnick's Oppressor route. Sidenote: after I ripped my HC Death Knight to a Celestial totem in Act 7 of Ultimate following your series, I did eventually finish a full HC playthrough on a regen Warder following Rekt's playthrough. Didn't get all the achieves though as it sadly got destroyed by Lokarr (first time I ever faced him) before I finished the last couple I needed. I had basically the same build (only gear affixes being the difference) as Rekt and yet he basically facetanked him while I got clapped rather quickly. So now I am back to softcore trying to learn how to do bosses without the penalty of having to start over again before I make my next HC venture. Following along with your Paladin playthrough. I also have never played with Runes before, so it is a new experience for me as well. So far, don't hate it lol.
"I don't hate it" is a ringing endorsement if I've ever heard one! :) The next series I'm doing will be a Primal Strike... Shaman. It's a Primal Strike Shaman, and it'll be another series on how to do HC achievements if you needed something to play along to. Might be a week or two though.

I have been blazing through normal non-veteran easily (but that's normal, I know). Going to finish FG shortly and hopefully get my resists high enough to just skip Elite. It's honestly really fun to surround totems in Runes and watch everything die in about 2 seconds of spawning! Plus have had some really lucky drops that have made it a breeze, and since I am not doing it SSF, even easier (have XP pots/mandates stashed, but still no Lokarr set). I actually started a PS Warder not long ago following a guide from Stupid_Dragon, but also in SC. I have so many builds sitting in the 35-55 level range because I can't decide which one (A) I enjoy the most, and (B) will make the "best/easiest to play (for me)" farmer. I also found an old Reddit post you made about (gasp) leveling as Retal, and I think I may give it a try as a "slow, read everything/talk to everyone again" playthrough (since it will be slow anyway).
I totally agree! dual pistols are... slow. I used word of pain and fireball to level lol can't wait to see the rest of the series. I'm also watching your DK series. i'm on episode 5. you provide a ton of really great info. I use to just follow guides, kinda mindlessly. but watching your videos and listening to your commentary, i'm learning why certain gear is good, which is far more important. now I can build my character on my own (mostly) lol.
Enjoying this very much, I bought Grim years ago, but it is only now that I am really getting into it. Was a POE guy but I got POE fatigue - although I do miss my lazy build summon raging spirits with its intelligent self guiding missiles. stand in 1 place and spam missiles.... Am doing a pure demolitionist now on normal and going pure rifle. Bit of a pain from level 4 onwards due to DPS (lack of) and squishiness (mobs are not an issue, bosses ARE). Found a rifle that does fire damage and am better now Looked at my resistances and while all elemental were at 80%, aether and others were like 17 each. So now am on the lookout for gear that gives me those res.... So now settled into 2h rifle and grenado spam, and despite dumping so many points into my fire rifle skills - it seems to me that grenade is better dps anyway. no matter - I want this to be a 2h rifle build with fire. and hukers. in fact, forget the.... hukers. any advice is welcome :=D edit: space is the key for evade imo
Excited for a Purifier, even if it's pistols, instead of 2 handed, eventually picking up the desolator. The change to the Inquisitor seal transmuter makes 2handed ranged an even better prospect than before.
2-handed Ranged Primal Strike next for all the rifle enthusiasts? We'll see. People have been asking for pistols for a while now, so we're doing pistols, even if they're complete pants to start.
Haaha, so funny Paikis. You differ greatly when starting a new character. For my non melee builds I always use Francis Gun with Searing Ember. Where we differ is at level 5 I go to Hargrows(*Whatever) Island and farm snakeskins til level 8 or so in HC. Then go kill Kyzogg. It is much faster! Also Veteran is a bit tougher now. But same loot as Regular(no increased drops.).For leveling, better to just play regular, Also I am running a unique build now. It is a Elementalist!! Talk about OP!! So much fun!! Taking Primal Strike to a whole new level 😀 Going to enjoy watching you have grief with this build. Like watching a bad TV Soap! You are in for some surprises in 1.2!
I think I'll be OK once it gets started. We'll see. Asf or Veteran vs Normal, it's always had extra drops, because it's always spawned extra monsters. You get the same drop chances, you just get more drops. As for Hargate's Isle, I know about it I just don't usually think it's worth the time spent to get a couple levels a bit faster. I think it's a good thing that there's different ways to play for different players. win-win.
@@Paikis The "extra drops" are definitely not noticed. I do not see any difference in loot between normal and vet. Perhaps later past Act 1 and 2 it will be noticed,. But in normal and vet. Same exact loot. Same MI's. Limited variety and limited items.
Personally my pistol purifier is my favourite build but was also the most easy to die with cause of everything comes faster at you than you can run. Standing in seal is alright but feels more clunky that way. And you are shooting from meele range.
I like that they have a UI element now. You could always re-bind them previously (I had mine on 'Q' and 'E') and that would free up the slot, but I usually kept mine there just so I could see the cooldown on the health potions. I think it's a good change.
My mouse has two buttons on the side, I set the evasion skill to one of those. You could also set it to middle mouse click if you like. Having a movement skill on the mouse feels 'right' to me.
The new patch made some instaces enormously harder i feel. I can´t even play SR 60+ normal without stress anymore. Maxxed resist 24+ HP. Some bosses could eben 2-shot me if i wouldnt heal permanently. I think its a lil bit over the top
The pistols I'm using are bad yes. I'll get new ones at 15 and they'll be a bit better. I've got new pistols picked out from MIs/crafting every few levels all the way to 100, but if push comes to shove I can always just vendor shop a good rare (assuming bits aren't too nerfed).

Welcome! The good news is that pistols are actually decent at 100, and they're certainly playable after you get the Duncan pistols at 15.

Every run I've ever done in GD has always been as a Necro lol.
I really like that the potion things free up slots to use for more spells and summons.

Yes, I've done the same. I don't know why I didn't think of it before because that's where I put my movement skills in PoE.

I guess it depends on your build. I have a couple that struggle around 60 but the DK and Ritualist can both do 80+ fairly easily.

@@PaikisThe patch notes say they upped bit drops to compensate for they lower item drop rate.
dw are boring a lot just craft a huge solider with a huge 2hand weapon and feel the power to see the mob packs to blow up
