Iv got to do one of these on my sons car at the week end on a 2019 fiesta that’s only done 25000 miles. This video is so full of clear instructions thanks so much. Too video
Iv previously been on the tools for years since 19 79 , cars trucks etc , got to give it to you Jim , this is one of the best videos I have ever came across
your videos are great, helped me with the squeaking Fiesta D bar Bushings, I'm always curious to know how do you know were everything goes when reasslembing so many parts great job Jim👍🏻
Thanks! Glad they have helped, ive been doing it that long I just remember or if I cant then I can work it out fairly easily, it also helps to group the bolts with the part you take off, that way you know they are for that 👍
Hi Jim a fantastic video, clearly explained and very precise. I was wondering where you are based in the UK and if this was your business. If so I'd rather have someone like you working on my car than anyone else. Cheers
How can I not find any other references (even Haynes manual doesn't tell me) to how the bleeding process for this slave cylinder works. My other cars all have bleed screws. Had brake fluid spraying in my face trying to bleed my clutch. Will have to revisit to make sure it was bled properly because now 2nd gear sometimes doesn't engage properly.
another great guide . i have to do this very soon on my 2013 1.0 fiesta , service and new clutch and bear. still using the one it came with car only done 40k . keep them coming fella , really enjoy you content and it extremely helpfully . should i gear the gearbox oil while i am there ?
Thanks! And thanks for your support, its noticed 😁👍 yeah i always like to replace the fluid with new myself and its not too expensive and doesnt take much, which is always a help!
Thanks, its a shame you didnt ask friday as I did one but didnt record.. its prettu much the same sort of thing depending what transmission you have fitted 👍
@@ALLTHINGSJIM It is a ford focus 1.0 125 EcoBoost Zetec S six speed gearbox with a dual mass flywheel. Is it always a good idea to renew the flywheel as well. Thanks Jim.
Hi fella, I have a 1.6 tdci fiesta 14 reg, I have a chattering.noise when I let the clutch up in neutral which stops if clutch is pressed down again, upon researching all I find is that it’s the release bearing, it’s been the same for the last 20k miles,, would you advise changing it or leaving it? Is the procedure similar to this video? Great video by the way, have subbed to you. Thanks 👍🏻
Hi there! Thanks for the comment, Yes that sounds like a release bearing from the description youve given, if its not excessive noise and has been like it 20k id be inclined to leave it unless it gets worse, depends exactly how loud it is and how much it bothers you. (Even with a brand new one in you may hear it slightly). As far as changing it, its very similar to this but not exactly the same but this video gives you a good idea how to do it if you wanted 👍👍
ALL THINGS JIM hi again thanks for the reply, really appreciated 👍🏻, it’s not that loud but is annoying, the clutch is good 🤞 so as you say I will leave it for now, you have to search about for info as I’ve had a mechanic say it’s the dual mass flywheel, but I already checked it’s got a solid one lol , but other info I’ve found elsewhere says that it’s quite common on these models as well as on Ford Focus, thanks again Jim , I have subbed and liked 👍🏻
I have a Ford Fiesta MK8 with the 1.0 ecoboost 2018. The car has 16k and i have a chattering.noise when the car is in neutral, when i press the clutch down the sound stops. The sound is pretty loud expecialy at cold start. What do you think it might be wrong?? THANKS!
Hard to say without physically having the car infront of me but from the brief description id say its more likely to be something like the clutch slave cylinder bearings going faulty 👍
@@alexrussell1031 yea, changed the clutch and it was gone, it came back at 26k with the new clutch ,installed a new one again and now I'm selling the car, I'm done with this shot box. All the clutches were changed in warranty, it wasn't my fault, the car is broken from factory.
@@andreiclaudiu5101 thank you! A lot of people have said it is the clutch release bearing on forums. But I’m going to take it in and see it’s out of warranty though !
Excellent presentation. One of the few if not the only one that does not ramble on for ages. Very clear and concise. Thank you
Thanks for the awesome comment 👍👍

Are you using that jack to support the engine? Ie does the engine need to be dropped to get the box out

You are awesome
Great video 🎰🥂 we definitely say do more installs 🔥🔥🔥
could I replace the starter from the bottom, or do I have to remove the batteries and the air filter?
Excellent video very informative 👍
how you put the driveshaft back in with the other end still in the hub?
Awsome video thank you... you wouldnt happen to have one on the new focus? lol
Love this vid... seems so easy

Jim do you know the DMF flywheel bolt torque settings?
What is an auto clutch kit for the 2.0, is it similar?
Great vid Jim, my son has a 2014 model, any particular mileage these go at or is it purely driving style??
Thanks! On a 2014 it will be purely driving style unless your unlucky, these later ones seem to be made of soft cheese though! 😂👍
@@ALLTHINGSJIM Ok great, his is on 30K so hopefully a few miles left on it! Have a great weekend
i have never see a trans jack like that before
How long did it take start to finish? Attempting mine tomorrow. Release bearing has given up!
Around 4 hours 👍
@@ALLTHINGSJIM also How do you bleed the clutch and fill the gear oil back up?! Thanks so much
@@ALLTHINGSJIM 4 hours! That is a shocker as the garage just quoted me 10 hours.
Great video! I'll not hesitate to do this myself after watching this.
Very good video...cheers from Portugal

Great! What was the mileage?
I cant remember to be honest it was a while ago, it wouldnt have been alot though...
What oil? FE 75W or 75-90
FE75W 👍
WSS-M2C-200-D2 ok thanks👏
Covered by warranty I hope
Yes it was, no signs of abuse ( hot spots etc) and it had super low milage too. 👍
That driver must drive with foot resting on clutch
It makes me shiver to see him use such a mushroomed chisel. I would have got fired at my work.
Wow so Ford still haven't added a gear box drain plug to the fiesta's lmfao
Why would they? Now you have to buy more gear oil ! 😂
