I love Bibles too! I currently have just over 60 of them. I also have 2 of my mom's Bibles and they are so precious to me. She passed away in 2005. Her Bibles have lots of little notes written right in the Bible or on scrap pieces of paper stuck within the pages. I just love going through it and seeing her notes written in her handwriting :) Love from Australia!
@@lindagardellini6321 That’s beautiful. Sorry about your mom. How do you organize your Bibles with having so many? Desktop shelf, standalone shelf, book carts, baskets?? 🧺 I’m trying to figure out a creative way to setup my Bibles for easy access.
As for an English language learner, the KJV was pretty hard to me, and I didn't want it at first. So when I decided to buy my first paper Bible, I asked one man, who was then in the UK, to send me some other versions. So he sent me NKJV and NIV. After that I bought on Amazon some other modern translations to compare the text for better understanding, and to enrich my English learning experience. But strangely enough, after some time I began to look more and more into KJV, and it slowly becomes my main translation. I use others also, but after that I always return to it. The hardest thing ever at first, it's pretty easy now, and now I begin to perceive the beauty of classic English.
Agree with you 100%. I was fortunate, as a child, to learn what you call "classic English", in public school. For example, if it starts with a T, the pronoun is singular. If it starts with a Y, the pronoun is plural. Sure makes it easier to know if words are being spoken to an individual or a group of people. While I didn't have your language challenge to overcome, I was challenged in other ways. I have an NIV and other translations on my bookshelf. The Bible that I routinely use is the KJV. Because of the precision of the language and so much more. Thank you for sharing your story. God Bless.
Great video! That Bible from your Mom is such a sweet treasure too. I’m a KJV gal all the way. My Schuyler Canterbury in dark purple goatskin is hands down my favorite- the paper, typeface, super floppy cover, and ribbons are perfection. (It also comes with a helpful glossary.) Thanks for sharing your collection!
@maryphillips8915, I have the same Bible, only mine's in black. 😁 I love it, too, for all the same reasons. I mean, it simply feels good to hold and is a joy to read, due to the fantastic paper quality (including its off-white coloration, which, IMO, is much easier on the eyes). Also like you, I've become a KJV proponent, though I read an HCSB Study Bible alongside my KJV each day. (I use the study Bible to learn about highlighted Hebrew words and events that were happening around the time each book was composed; I also enjoy studying the maps and charts that make the Bible's events come more alive for me.)
I used to be NIV only. 2 years ago I bought a large print KJV Journal the word Bible. I have used it ever since as my base Bible and use Bible apps to look up the strongs for meaning I don't understand and also various translations. I really like having the solid translation that KJV offers and then taking notes if I need to. And surprising to me, I have grown to LOVE the KJV... because I always use it to read the Bible I'm also used to how words are used in it.
The King James is so poetic, I just ordered a NKJV journal the word Bible from Thomas Nelson and some KJV coloring bibles from Christian Art Publishing. I like the NKJV translation as my main Bible, although it is not as poetic as the KJV it’s a bit easier to understand.
I was away from the church of my youth, for many, yes many, years. When I returned, these old eyes had grown too dim to read the tiny print in my old KJV. Upon recommendation from my new, to me, pastor, I bought a larger print NIV. It became my main Bible, as it was the only one I could see how to read, at the time. After about 6 months or so, I gave up on it. I did not become more comfortable reading it, as time passed. It was the opposite. I bought a KJV study Bible. I have several more, since that day over 10 years ago, when I left LifeWay with that big KJV under my arm. Since then, I have tried several other modern versions. For the most part, they are collecting dust on my bookshelves. With on-line access to many versions at Blue Letter Bible, it is easy to do a quick look up of verses, if I want to compare them to the KJV. Today, my main, daily use Bible is a plain 2 column red-letter King James. You said: "And surprising to me, I have grown to LOVE the KJV." And, I personally know the reasons why.
I love buying bibles too. It's really fun reading the different translations and seeing which wording I like the best. So far I have a ESV student Reformation study bible, a NKJV New Geneva Study Bible, a NIV study bible, and a NLT Life Application study bible. The NKJV Geneva study bible is hardcover, and it's great for the notes and the color of the print, it's nice and dark. In fact, the Geneva bible is from 1994 and it has the nicest print and headings out of all the bibles I own. They really did a good job at keeping the feel of a standard king james, but the translation is so much easier to read. I was lucky and I got it for a good deal on ebay. My favorite is the life application study bible for the notes. Every note in it is basically something you can apply to your life and they really explain everything well. It's nice because the notes aren't crowded, which is one thing I didn't like about the NIV study bible. Too crowded and too many extra notes referencing other notes that don't really need to be there. I find it makes it hard to read. For anyone wondering, if you haven't tried a life application bible you are missing out. They are great! Take care!
I LOVE Bibles too! ❤ This my sound strange, but my potato chip bag tapped your video by mistake while I was watching another video, and I took it as a God wink to watch your video, and I'm soo glad I did! This is my first video of yours, and I subscribed. :) I liked hearing your thoughts on the different versions you have had, and seeing inside them. Thank you! My favorite translation (currently) is the updated Amplified Study Bible. I bought it in hardcover, and it is really a great study tool that I use along with my other translations. I read several side by side to compare the words the translators used. I read KJV when I was a child and back then was told it was the only one to be trusted. Yet after I was grown I found there is not one single translation that conveys ALL of the meaning through its covers, which is why the need for Concordance, resource books and helps, so we can better UNDERSTAND what God said to us. Understanding is the key to knowing God and His ways, and what he wants for us, and how to abide in Him. Over the years I have read KJV, New KJ, NIV and NLT beginning to end. I also recently bought CSB, ESV and NASB, which is probably my favorite outside the AMP version. A few months ago I was gifted the Tony Evans Bible Commentary which got my feet wet in commentaries. Since then I bought a MacArther daily devotional (which I love-love) and then decided I needed to get his NASB Study Bible and his commentary. His vast wisdom and way of writing really resonates with me. I also got Matthew Henry's Commentary on Kindle which he had written long ago. Wow, it goes so in depth and has been a huge help for my studies. The Kindle Bible resources along with Biblehub's online lexicon feature helps when I can't tote around an arm full of heavy books. I have more devotionals and resources in print as well as on Kindle, but I'll stop there for now. I hope you have a great day, and thanks again for sharing!
Hi Stacy, thank you so much for this video. I love to listen to you and I can very much relate to your love for bibles. I am living in Germany and our German bibles are very boring, unfortunately, not by far such a wide variety as there is in English. So I love English bibles. My favorite version is the NLT, as it is easy to understand. Currently I also love the Spirit Filled Life Bible in the NKJV. Thank you again!
My first and favorite bible is the Old Scofield reference bible. Like you I have many other translations and use them all! Each translation is special!
Thank you so much for sharing your bible collection and your memories. I was touched by your recollection of your mom and how special her bible is to you.
@@wanderingwithstacy Have you read through it yet? For several reasons. One, in memory of her, as she may have some notes hidden in those pages. Another is to gain a greater understanding based on the underlying manuscripts of the KJV. Modern Bibles primarily use other sources. This is a good subject of study that is helpful in growth of understanding.
I can’t get away from reading the NLT, it’s the easiest for me to understand and it was the first bible I picked up and was just hooked. I also have been enjoying the BSB. I too have a love for bibles so I totally get it! Thanks for sharing!
You have an awesome bible collection!! Hm, I guess for a while I've been reading either the NIV or ESV. But I've also read a lot from the NLT in the past.
Hi Stacy 👋I'm also a baby christian and I absolutely love your bible collection! Especially the NLT ILLUSTRATED STUDY BIBLE 😊 That's one of my favorites also along with the NKJV LIFE PRINCIPLES BIBLE by Charles Stanley. Thank you for sharing your collection with us!
Great video Stacey. I love collecting Bibles too. I like reading through all the different translations, for comparison. But my favourite version at the moment is the NASB '95. Cambridge make some beautiful bibles, and their Wide Margin editions are wonderful.
I have found it hard to resist getting lots of different Bibles as well. It fascinates me that there are very few of the same Bibles that you have as mine. When I first started I was on my own and didn't know much about Bibles at all and was only a TINY bit familiar with the KJV. That was the only one I avoided for over a year, thinking it would be too hard to read. (I no longer feel that way.) Anyhow, one of the books I got early on was the book "New Age Bible Versions" by Gail Riplinger that compares differences between verses (the same verses) in different bibles, and really it was SHOCKING to see some of the differences. The NIV was very bad to me because the translators ADDED to the bible as if the bible SAID what they wrote. The best example I can give is when Peter had that vision or dream with the unclean animals on a sheet and God saying to kill and eat. Peter was saying like, "I never eat unclean things!" and God had to interpret the dream for him. If you read the entire chapter in context you learn that when God was saying not to call things unclean that He calls clean, He was talking about PEOPLE. It was because of that dream/vision that when the Centurion who as not Jewish but loved God invited Peter to dinner, Peter went. Before that, he would not have done so as he had been raised to believe it was unclean to even EAT with non-Jews. But he realized God was telling him that it was not unclean to go eat with them. (And OF COURSE they did not serve pork or anything they knew he wouldn't want to eat!) However, the translators ADDED a sentence that is NOT in ANY of the originals that says (paraphrasing here) "and by this God said no foods are unclean" or some such. It is clear to me that this part of the New Testament is interpreted differently by different people and to ADD to the Bible is a NO-NO. The ESV bothers me because it LEFT OUT certain words of the Bible (and the Bible itself says NOT to add OR take away from it)! Example: In the KJV (Colossians 1:14) says "In whom we have redemption through his blood," whereas the NIV, NASB and others say, "in whom we have redemption" and leave out the blood. ESV leaves out the blood in a LOT of verses. There are many subtle but important differences, for instance in many verses of the ESV, NASB and others it says "a son of God" when referring to Jesus Christ, whereas the KJV says, "THE son of God." Pretty big difference. There are "son's of God" in the Old Testament, especially in Genesis, where what was being referred to was angels -- not the only begotten Son of God, which Jesus is. I'm not saying, by the way, that the KJV is the only good Bible, but it IS a good "old standard" from which to compare many things. And when Gail Riplinger went painstakingly through many Bible editions, the KJV was her standard (as it was for many years the main standard Bible in the West). For her it was before computers and she was bedridden for some years when she did this. What got her started was that before she was bedridden she was working at Kent University and one of her jobs was as a counselor for the students. Someone came in and asked if Jesus and Lucifer were the same person. This is when she found out that his version of the Bible (I think it may have been the NIV) made it look that way if you compared a quote in Isaiah to a quote in Revelation which was worded very differently in the KJV. I got other Bibles not knowing anything about them. Then discovered that the "New World Translation" is a Bible CHANGED to fit the doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses, who deny the deity of Christ Jesus as God and believe He is one and the same as Archangel Michael (and a number of other things). So I got rid of that bible. I also ended up with a copy of a couple bibles from other "churches" with false doctrines. Got rid of those too, including the Jerusalem Bible which is a Catholic Bible. The Catholic Bible added words to make the mother of Jesus, Mary -- who is indeed blessed among women -- into a deity. I highly recommend studying up on any bible before you spend much money on it or using it as scripture. I would love to have a copy of that Spurgeon study bible you showed. I didn't know about that one! And I had not even heard of more than half of the bibles you mentioned even though I used to have dozens of translations (most of which I either gave away -- or threw out when I thought they are terribly deceptive). The fact is NO translation is inerrant -- just by the fact that it is a translation. Too many times a word or even a concept that does not exist in the language being translated to does not exist in that language. I listened to a missionary who spent many years as a missionary in a tribe in New Guinea where cannibal tribes were also close by. Her main mission other than to do her best to be an example of a follower of Jesus Christ was to learn and translate their language onto paper so that they could read the bible. She had one good translator who knew both their language and English and was stumped for a very long time because there WAS no word for forgiveness in the tribe's vocabulary. After some years and a dangerous situation, she learned that some of the tribespeople who had become Christian were in the party that went to deal with the group on their way to massacre their tribe. They ambushed the approaching enemy -- and in the past it would be a "given" that they would kill all of them. But instead they put down their bows -- they used bows and arrows. This let the enemy approaching know they would not be killed. That word for "putting down the bow" was used in the bible she translated for them to get across the meaning of forgiveness! Bible study gets more fascinating the more you do it -- believe me! I respect and listen to and read and am inspired by a number of good teachers and preachers of Christ Jesus and His Word, but always I find I must put all of my trust in no one but Christ Jesus Himself and His Word. What a wonderful thing that is, to have the Lord of Lords and King of Kings as my PRIMARY anchor! God bless!
Very interesting video! that Spurgeon study Bible has definitely peaked my interest! 😊. Up until this last November I have always used NIV...actually my last Bible I was gifted it in 2006 but I had all my notes and highlights in there I didn't want to let it go. It had been through two Bible cases but it was so familiar to me.....then my husband bought me a chronological NKJV Bibke for our Anniversary. I still haven't finished that one, but I was enjoying reading the Bible chronologically. Now in November I received a NASB John MacArthur study Bible and I love it. I think from now on I will use a study Bible there is just so much benefit in it, and you are right JM has put SO much commentary in there. My son has an ESV and he likes that translation, but he is hoping to find a NKJV study Bible from a pastor he agrees with ( he just turned 11 lol) we are still on the hunt...
My son got the ESV before me and convinced to to get it when I saw it at the thrift store. I'm so glad to have my own now! I need a chronological one too. I read a regular Bible chronologically last year and it would have been easier not flipping around so much.
Just found your channel and really connected. 🤗 Love your collection and I too….LOVE Bibles! Just ordered myself an ESV interleaved journaling Bible to add to my collection 🥰
Another Bible collector here and new subscriber. I, too, enjoy watching videos of other people's Bible collections. Thank you for sharing yours. My collection is out of control, as my friends would probably say. But I value having different translations to consult simply for the reason that one can dig out more meaning to a verse by reading it in different translations. Counting just the ones within reach as I sit here - at least 14. Not counting the many, many I have on my Kindle or the ones now in storage for one reason or another. I think I have access to just about every translation out there but the ones I'm currently gravitating toward most right now is the NKJV and CSB. I have study Bibles in both translations. I also use a Thompson Chain KJV quite often - the original Kirkbride version. I like how you can take a word or subject and read throughout the Bible on that word or subject by following the reference code given. I also recommend the Amplified version - not so much for readability but because right there within the verse, it gives additional word or phrasing to mean the same thing. But with all of the translations out there, after 50 some years in my walk with God, it's nice to sometimes fall back on the KJV I grew up with. Now that I'm older, it's easier to read and understand than it was when I was younger.
Thanks for stopping by! I almost picked up a CSB womens study Bible today. It was only $3 at my libary sale. I decided to let someone else get it though:)
Hi Stacy. Enjoyed your video. I have many Bibles and translations. But my favorite Bible is a KJV Full Life Study Bible (I think it has now been renamed the Life in the Spirit Bible). Growing up in the 1960s and 70s, the KJV is what many people had, and I am comfortable using it. I purchased this Bible in 1992, if I recall correctly. It has been with me through many trials and difficult times. It is filled with 30+ years of highlights and notes. It's not just a Bible, but a faithful old friend.
Good video, excellent coverage of the Bible choices available today. I'm a bit disappointed that publishers are doing so many revisions/updates, resulting in different wording in certain passages, depending on when it was published. It leads to confusion. I can see generational updates, even perhaps a bit more often, but when it's just a few years between updates, something is wrong. I'll be glad when publishers finally sort this out.
I have just finished watching the video. I do collect Bibles, for sure. Recently, I decided to look around on TH-cam, and a few other places, just to get a feel for how many other Bible collectors were actually posting this stuff. Thank you.
I love Bibles too, I was a "baby Christian" in 2022 and I was going through TH-cam looking for Bible reviews, Bible Collections, and Bible Stack videos when I stumbled on your video, you mentioned a Bible that I want to add to my collection but I couldn't remember which one it was. I'm glad to see that this channel is still active. I just ordered a copy of the Abide Bible NKJV, because of this video. Thanks for sharing. If you are interested I would like to recommend the Prayer Bible by Thomas Nelson, it is part of the "Abide" Bible Collection and it has a "floppy feel".
My favorite is the ESV Study Bible for normal reading/study. However, I recently purchased a copy of The New Spurgeon's Devotional Bible: Complete in One Volume which also is written in the ESV translation. This Bible is designed to be read daily over 2 years. Instead of being set up like a normal Bible, it goes through the main stories of the Bible and combines other passages from different parts of Scripture together on the same topic. For example, when reading about Abraham in Genesis, you might read the passage from Gen. then read a Psalm that touches on faith and then read a passage from Hebrews that also references Abraham. In between these passages (in parentheses and italics) you have some of the quotes from Spurgeon's writings that expound on the passages. Spurgeon's goal for these thoughts was to be used when reading Scripture as a family/to children to explain to them what the passage means and, always, how that passage points us to Christ or teaches us something about Christ. It's like having him with you to explain the Bible as you read. I absolutely LOVE this Bible! So basically, I'm trying to get through this devotional Bible in 1 year by reading 2 or more daily devotions at a time and then I'm still using my ESV Study Bible when doing other Bible reading/study because the Spurgeon Bible doesn't contain every single verse, it's more of an overview of Scripture (at least as far as I can tell so far). I love them both for different reasons. I also recently acquired the NRSV Cultural Background Study Bible, which is an AMAZING resource for doing more research into the ancient world and customs etc. that existed during the times the Bible was written. It really does a great job of explaining the other religious beliefs and practices of the cultures the Israelites came into contact with. It has a lot of great charts and detailed photos along with additional commentary from the "cultural backgrounds" in the world at that time and I have just started digging into this one, but it's been great so far. Next year in our homeschool, we'll be focusing on the Ancient World and I'm really looking forward to using this Bible even more during those studies. I really enjoyed your video! Thank you so much for showing us a peak into your Bible collections!
It was very nice to see your Bible collection. There are some very nice works in there. I no longer collect Bibles, nor do I have a favorite translation, but it's fun to see the enthusiasm in this video.
Dangerous video to my wallet!! Saw this wonderful video early in the morning and after work today purchased two of your reviewed favorites.... The Abide Bible in NET (because I really need it to be easy) and the NLT Illustrated Study Bible. Thank you very much for the review video.
Thanks for the great video. I have too many Bibles to count. I've either read them all or am going to read them this year. I only have 2 that I don't favor and will gift them. I've read all the translations, favorite is NLT. I believe it it a combination of W4W and thought for thought. It's not like say, the Message. The NLT is more accurate and just easier to read. After that, it's the ESV :) Keep reading!
You're not the only one. I just order 3 more bibles yesterday! My fav is ESV word for word. I just received a CSB a few weeks back and I like that translation. It seems to be a pretty good mixture of word for word and thought for thought.
Thanks so much- great video. I am addicted to buying bibles too! My husband makes jokes about it. I also love watching the videos of people sharing theirs. I really enjoyed this. Thanks. My go to is She Reads Truth- it is CSB.
My favorite translation was the KJV for more than 30 years. While the NASB was a close second, the KJV was always my main reader. I have recently done an exegetical study of the LSB. My wife and I read it word for word. It has proven to be a trustworthy translation. I examined it and compared it to those Greek manuscripts I possess. I love translation work. Today I use the NASB 95 as my main text. Thanks for the vid. God's best!
I love the John MacArthur edition- it's such an in-depth one to use for study. I bought my 22 yr old son a special leather bound version of that one last year for his birthday and he loves it, too. I bought my boys the student's apologetics Bible when they were teens and it's a great one, too. I have always read through the Bible in NKJV and just used the other translations for Bible study, etc. But this year I'm reading through the ESV(The Story of Redemption Bible) and I really am enjoying it. I hope to read through another translation the 2nd half of the year.- we shall see how that goes. 😊
The CEV/TEV were my first bibles and my go to bibles. The CEV shows you clearly how to pray for others, most bibles are very vague in this area: 1 Timothy 2:1, 2 Timothy 1:2, Titus 1:4, Philemon 1:3 etc...Thank you I enjoyed.🌺🌺🌺
I love Bibles too! I like different translations - ESV and NKJV mostly and NLT and RSV/NRSV. I haven't gotten into CSB as much but I have Bibles in that translation so maybe that will change! ESV study Bible, Nelson Complete Study System (now NKJV study bible), Life in the Spirit (now Fire bible), Wesley Study Bible.. sooo many!
Hi loved your video - I just started Bible collecting - I’ve ordered a few of those already - the ones I am most excited about are the NKJV Abide Bible, the NLT illustrated study Bible and the NKJV journal the world Bible - I want to get into Bible journaling and coloring more. Thanks for sharing - you have some great ones !
Wonderful! I hope you love them all! I just used the NLT iluustrated one last year. It was pretty amazing. There's so much in it and I love all the charts and pictures:)
With over 100 bibles on my shelf, around 70 of them being study bibles, I can identify with the desire for even more. I have about a dozen still on my wishlist. I doubt I will be able to get through them all as I’m already in my mid 50s but I hope to pass them on to a young Pastor when I die.
I enjoyed your video, and I love Bibles too. I dive deep into mine as well. I love the KJV and ESV. I don't really like the NIV or NLT, I feel like they say summarize instead of stay accurate to the word. But! I am wondering about the CSB, you have a couple of them, would you say they ar pretty accurate or similar to the NIV? Thanks for the video!
I really like Matthew Henry's commentary on the whole Bible. It's not a study Bible, but more like a guide through Scripture. It shows passages of Scripture and then Matthew Henry gives his commentary on the passage. It's a lot though, like six volumes.
I own around 16 Bibles. My favorite version for reading is the NASB (New American Standard Bible) and I use the Ryrie NASB study Bible. I also love the CSB. The NIV is good and easy to read. I do like MacArthur's Study Bible in the NASB.
I love my CSB women’s study Bible & ESV study Bible. (At the moment) 😆 I did just recently get the Charles Stanley Bible and Tony Evans kingdom living Bible along with the commentary. For 2022 I decided to read the Bible in Chronological order cover to cover ( for the first time) I am using the NKJV One Year Bible for that mission. 😆 Ps. I have over 60 bibles as of today 😬🥴
My two favorites are the ESV Study Bible And the Woman’s Study Bible (NIV). I also use the Moody Bible Commentary for my studies. I just got The Message Bible, but haven’t had an opportunity to really use it yet. And I have many others too.
I got two Bibles this year. I got the KJV Center Column Reference Bible in Brown Leathersoft for my birthday and I just got the NKJV MacArthur Study Bible, also in Brown Leathersoft for Christmas. I also have a Scofield Reference Bible from1909 that belonged to my grandmother.
Happy to see your Bible collection. I love Bibles as well. I usually like to get the Large or SuperGiant print NKJV. Color usually Black,Brown or White leather cover.
I LOVE Bibles, as well!! I really enjoyed your video. I am a Big fan of Ray Comfort( Living Waters ) and Kirk Cameron. They have movies and many videos on TH-cam to watch for free. I have The Evidence Bible NKJV with commentary by Ray Comfort. It is really good and different. I have not seen any Bibles that are like it. I really LOVE study Bibles too!❤️
I honestly don't know how I've held on to mine. We moved all the time and I was always getting rid of my books because they were heavy and hard to move. I only have like 3 books from back then:(
Oh I can soooo relate to you, sister! I love Bibles too. I love comparing different versions, I love the different covers they come in, the feel of the Bible paper, and even the smell of them (especially the leather). I can't help myself, if I see one I like I just have to buy it.😁 I had a huge collection once... but I've managed to dwindle that down a bit now.....but I think I still have a few too many.😊 I love the KJV and the NKJV for their majestic language and because they are word for word and good for study, but for general reading, such as reading the Bible from cover to cover I prefer to use the NLT or even the Good News Bible. They just seem to flow better. The CEV is an easy read too. Whatever the translation, they are ALL God's Word and like they say, 'the best Bible for you is the one you will read'! ❤️❤️❤️
I like using the ESV, but would like to eventually buy the NASB. I think that Melissa Dougherty mentioned on her channel that those two versions are more word for word. The apologetics study bible looks good.
@Christian Reads and Classics - Loved your Review! I am a Bible Collector and have four of the Bibles that you've shown: Abide Bible, Surgeon Study Bible, Holy Land Illustrated Bible, and the NLT Illustrated Study Bible. I really enjoy all of them. There are so many great Bibles out now, it is mind-blowing! I've subscribed, and look forward to more of your Reviews. 🌴🌞
Hi! I loved this video! Where did you get your Illustrated Bible in the NLT version?? Yours looks white, and I cannot seem to find a hardcover white one for sure…. Thanks!
Thanks! I got it from Amazon:) www.amazon.com/Illustrated-Study-Bible-NLT-Tyndale/dp/1496402006/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=SxZXP&content-id=amzn1.sym.bbb6bbd8-d236-47cb-b42f-734cb0cacc1f&pf_rd_p=bbb6bbd8-d236-47cb-b42f-734cb0cacc1f&pf_rd_r=83QX6VNJH5F66TE2HH88&pd_rd_wg=6Onf8&pd_rd_r=6225820f-fd68-42aa-88a2-f19914449fe1&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mi
I’m so excited to hear that you rediscovered God 2 years ago. I would love to see a testimony video 💕, that is so exciting to me. I was trying to think back to your older channel if I remembered you saying anything about God or faith. I couldn’t remember, but I’m so glad to know that you are a sister in Christ! Oh my goodness - I love that art bible, Abide... wow. I haven’t seen anything like that before, with great classic art before. Want!
I love watching testimonies too! I'm sure I never mentioned God. I always believed, but was not living a Christian life. It's been a wild journey, but I can't imagine living any other way now:) The Abide Bible is so gorgeous! It's so engaging and easy to read and understand.
@@wanderingwithstacy I’m so glad that you are growing and active in your faith now. He’s never done with us, He doesn’t give up on us, He’s always pursuing us and sanctifying us. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
Great video! You and I are on the same stage and path! My first complete read through was from a NKJV and then an NIV, both purchased from Walmart. After that I was hooked and now my main Bible is the Thomas Nelson NASB giant print in genuine leather. Love this Bible in conjunction with the John Macarthur NASB study Bible. I also use the John Macarthur NASB daily Bible for my Bible in a year read. I just purchased the Thomas Nelson NKJV SCR in goatskin, I love this one just for casual reading. And finally one of my favorites is actually the smallest and cheapest I own, an NKJV compact end of verse reference Bible I purchased for $10 on Amazon. Its an amazing little Bible and even though it is small the print is so easy to read, unlike my Pitt Minion that now lives in its box because the print is just too small. I also still have my first Bibles from when I was a kid. They were the KJV. Oh and I almost forgot I have a KJVER Sword reference Bible that I want to do a complete read through next year. If you've never heard of it, you might want to look into it. Thankyou for the video!
Thank you for sharing. I too enjoy studying the bible. Lots of Commentary and Dictionary study materials. I use The Reformation Study Bible by R.C.Sproul. I do have ESV and NIV Bible's that I have read and noted up. I have three children and I have a Bible I have read through for each child, I plan to give to them when they start their own journey from home. I enjoyed your video, keep studying📚
@@wanderingwithstacy I picked up the NLT Illustrated Study Bible and the esty tabs, it has helped our Study to have these illustrations and diagrams. Thanks for sharing. Hope you get your Reformation book soon :)
I think I lost all the Bibles I had from childhood through my mid/late 20s in a messy move. I always read one Bible at a time until I was gifted a new one or came across a study Bible that looked more interesting than the one I was reading. I've recently started slowly building a new collection. I have a NIV Life Application Study Bible that I used for years until it was damaged. I replaced it with the HCSB Apologetics Study Bible; I love the twisted Scriptures notes in it. Shortly after I got it, I backslid and never read much of it. I jumped back into reading the Bible in July or August of this year. I wanted different study notes to go along with that one, so I got the Amplified Study Bible and love it. It's my everyday Bible. I have a list of study Bibles and commentaries I want and keep adding to it.
That was fun to watch. The Bible I use the most is the NKJV Life Application Bible - the first big study Bible I bought after becoming a Christian in 2013. I have other Bibles too and have considered making a video about them.
I have a lot of bibles too. Mostly study Bibles. I don't really make videos but I want to be like you lol, so maybe I will make one soon. I haven't really seen many men making videos like this of their Bibles..
How do you store or display your Bibles & journals? Will you show us or send a link to the shelf or whatever you use? I’m trying to decide if they should lie flat or stand up but I worry about the edges of my leather-like covers getting damaged if they stand. Also trying to decide on desktop bookshelves vs standalone shelf🤔
@@MahoganyBelle Most are on my bookshelf, some standing up and some lying flat. One is on my coffee table, one is on my side table, and one is on a shelf next to my bed:) I've seen people use tbr carts or baskets on the floor. However you store them, just make sure they are close and easy to reach for!
Hi Stacy, I’m also a baby Christian and have started my bible collection. I’m currently using the ESV Study Bible which is being helpful. I also ha a CSB She Reads Truth bible and an NKJ V womenswear bible. I also go thru all comparing verses. Any helpful ideas for studying will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Have you seen TH-cam channels How to Faith a Life and Nicki Drake Crazy Simple Truth. They do a great job on teaching you how to dig deeper in your Bible studies. Both have patron or patron style platform and do live Bible studies.
Great collection. The ESV study Bible is like the Daddy of all study Bibles, lol. I just don’t like the translation, so I simply use the rest as a resource. I love the NASB95 for a word-for-word translation. The NIV84 is the dynamic translation I like. We are so blessed to have so many options, so we can all choose what works best for us in any given season. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. I also like watching bible videos too. I have the ray comfort (living waters) evidence study bible. So that’s the evangelist/apologetics style like the one you showed here. And my brother lent me his NIV study bible. That has maps and intros which the evidence one doesn’t. Subbed. 👏🙏
I like the NLT for readability. I like the cronilogial version of the bible because it realates the scripture as they occured. this helps w show the different scrioure together, especially the gospeles are compared to one another.
I Absolutely LOVE Bibles also. My husband laughs about how many I have. Probably my top 3 versions are the KJV, NKJV, and NIV. It’s hard to choose just one.
I didn't know Bible collecting was a thing. This is interesting. I bought my Bibles from Christian Book Distributors as well. I have 26 total, most are study Bibles. I teach Sunday school, so I guess that's an excuse. I built a library through CBD. The translations I use the most are the NKJV and the NASB. We have a few Bibles in common; I have the Apologetics (HCSB), MacArthur (NKJV) and ESV study Bibles.
@@wanderingwithstacy I left out a few, ones I don't use or aren't out where I can see them. It's actually 32 Bibles. I should probably downsize that number.
Lately my favorite has been the Jerusalem Bible which, sadly, you can only find in the used market. It's a Catholic Bible (I'm not Catholic) but its layout and typesetting make it a joy to read. (New subscriber)
Welcome! I don't have a catholic Bible but I'd like one. I just started reading some of the extra books they have. I really want to look more into the history of it.
@@wanderingwithstacy My religious tradition (Anglican Wesleyan) holds that the Apocryphal books are useful "for example of life and instruction of manners; but yet doth it not apply them to establish any doctrine..." Which is good enough for me!
@@ma-mo Yes, while reading Daniel, my study Bible kept mentioning his prophecies were linked to things during Maccabees. I didn't know anything about that, so I read it to get more context.
If you like the word-for-word translations, you might want to check out the NASB Study Bible. The NASB is supposed to be the most word-for-word translation.
Not only do I have an addiction to buying bibles, but now I love watching other people’s Bible collections ! 😁
I love that!

I love Bibles too! I currently have just over 60 of them. I also have 2 of my mom's Bibles and they are so precious to me. She passed away in 2005. Her Bibles have lots of little notes written right in the Bible or on scrap pieces of paper stuck within the pages. I just love going through it and seeing her notes written in her handwriting :)
Love from Australia!
Wow, that's a lot of Bibles! I'm sorry about your mom. I love having my mom's Bible, it's so special!
Linda, this is SO precious. What valuable gifts your mom left!
That’s great I don’t feel too bad with my recent Bible enthusiasm and Bible collecting 😁

That's really cool!
Agree the classic English of the KJV is so beautiful and poetic
(It also comes with a helpful glossary.)
Thanks for sharing your collection!
That is awesome! I'd love to add a goatskin Bible to my collection!
You said: "And surprising to me, I have grown to LOVE the KJV."
And, I personally know the reasons why.
@@oldtimerlee8820 i purchased a large print journal the word KJV Bible by Thomas Nelson … it has been wonderful
Take care!
I want to get the Geneva one!
My favorite translation is the amplified it make the word come alive for me❤️🙌🏾🙌🏾
I don't know if I've seen that one, I will have to check it out!
Yes green amplified is great, that was the first Bible I started to read and it really fills in some gaps and makes it easier to understand
Seeing this makes me feel better . I love collecting bibles and I use different translations on different days 15:49

I LOVE Bibles too! ❤
This my sound strange, but my potato chip bag tapped your video by mistake while I was watching another video, and I took it as a God wink to watch your video, and I'm soo glad I did!
Thanks for watching and sharing this! I love hearing all about people's Bible journeys!
Oh wow, it never occurred to me that we would have such a difference in Bibles. Are you able to order them from overseas?
That’s great I just ordered those an NLT version and the spirit filled life NKJV. Blessings to you.

Thank you so much for sharing your bible collection and your memories. I was touched by your recollection of your mom and how special her bible is to you.
Thanks for watching! Yes, my moms Bible is so precious!
@oldtimerlee8820 I haven't read the KJV yet. I did the NKJ though. I flipped through all the pages and found all her notes and underlines. 😊
I can’t get away from reading the NLT, it’s the easiest for me to understand and it was the first bible I picked up and was just hooked. I also have been enjoying the BSB. I too have a love for bibles so I totally get it! Thanks for sharing!

Great video Stacey. I love collecting Bibles too. I like reading through all the different translations, for comparison. But my favourite version at the moment is the NASB '95. Cambridge make some beautiful bibles, and their Wide Margin editions are wonderful.
Thanks! I really want to add a NASB 95 to my collection!

Well hello, I'm glad you're here! I still dont own a journaling Bible, that one sounds awesome!
Thanks for sharing!!
We definitely have to be mindful of what we're consuming.
I have just finished watching the video. I do collect Bibles, for sure. Recently, I decided to look around on TH-cam, and a few other places, just to get a feel for how many other Bible collectors were actually posting this stuff.

Thanks for the rec! I hope you love the Abide Bible, its still a favorite of mine!
Loved your video. I have always loved the NRSV.
Oh my goodness that Spurgeon one sounds amazing! I love the history bits in some Bibles too, it really helps understand what life was like!
It was very nice to see your Bible collection. There are some very nice works in there. I no longer collect Bibles, nor do I have a favorite translation, but it's fun to see the enthusiasm in this video.

I hope you love them!!
Wonderful! I really want to read the ESV next!
You're not the only one. I just order 3 more bibles yesterday! My fav is ESV word for word. I just received a CSB a few weeks back and I like that translation. It seems to be a pretty good mixture of word for word and thought for thought.
Great choices!
I’ve finally found a Bible I love, The Tony Evans Study Bible in the CSB version.
That's fantastic!
I am also using the NLT life application study Bible. Lol each translation sheds light on the meaning of a scripture.

Love that! Thanks so much for watching!
God's best!
I really want a NASB too!
Congratulations. For someone who is a new Christian you have read cover to cover several times!
I love your Bible collection
I love the John MacArthur edition- it's such an in-depth one to use for study. I bought my 22 yr old son a special leather bound version of that one last year for his birthday and he loves it, too. I bought my boys the student's apologetics Bible when they were teens and it's a great one, too. I have always read through the Bible in NKJV and just used the other translations for Bible study, etc. But this year I'm reading through the ESV(The Story of Redemption Bible) and I really am enjoying it. I hope to read through another translation the 2nd half of the year.- we shall see how that goes. 😊
I didn't know about the students apologetics Bible!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you
God bless
Same to you!
Your channel came in my algorithm. Love it. I HAVE A PROBLEM W/BUYING BIBLES TOO.
Thanks! Bibles are just the best, lol:)
Great assortment of bibles I may get some
Can't have too many;)
Oh and I’m totally gonna be checking out the Apologetic study one! Thanks for sharing!
You should! It's filled with great info!
Nice collection of art books, you got one there that actually is the word of God, it's no coincidence your Mom left it to you. Pray you discover that.
Art books? Pray I discover what? Im confused by your comment.
With over 100 bibles on my shelf, around 70 of them being study bibles, I can identify with the desire for even more. I have about a dozen still on my wishlist. I doubt I will be able to get through them all as I’m already in my mid 50s but I hope to pass them on to a young Pastor when I die.
Nothing wrong with being surrounded by the Word!
Great Review….Etsy bible tabs?
I’m getting the nlt illustrated bible and start place study bible niv this year
I have the Jesus bible and the starting place bibles
I enjoyed your video, and I love Bibles too. I dive deep into mine as well. I love the KJV and ESV. I don't really like the NIV or NLT, I feel like they say summarize instead of stay accurate to the word. But! I am wondering about the CSB, you have a couple of them, would you say they ar pretty accurate or similar to the NIV? Thanks for the video!
I think the CSB is very similar to the NKJV. I really like it!
@@wanderingwithstacy Thank you! I'll look into the CSB.
I really like Matthew Henry's commentary on the whole Bible. It's not a study Bible, but more like a guide through Scripture. It shows passages of Scripture and then Matthew Henry gives his commentary on the passage. It's a lot though, like six volumes.
Thank You for sharing all your Bibles. I am Interested in so many Bibles! Glad I am in good company!
Me too!!
love your fresh, honest perspective! this was a great video!
Thanks!
I really loved your video. I got two in my cart and can't wait to get them. I'll let you know how I like them.
That's awesome! Which ones did you get?
I own around 16 Bibles. My favorite version for reading is the NASB (New American Standard Bible) and I use the Ryrie NASB study Bible. I also love the CSB. The NIV is good and easy to read. I do like MacArthur's Study Bible in the NASB.
Thanks for sharing! I also want a NASB!
I
my favorite is the Ryrie study bible
mine is scotched taped together
My grandmother was the one to take me to Church as well. Thank the Lord for grandmothers, eh?
I love my CSB women’s study Bible & ESV study Bible. (At the moment) 😆 I did just recently get the Charles Stanley Bible and Tony Evans kingdom living Bible along with the commentary. For 2022 I decided to read the Bible in Chronological order cover to cover ( for the first time) I am using the NKJV One Year Bible for that mission. 😆
Ps. I have over 60 bibles as of today 😬🥴
Wow 60! Your totally set:)
i love this video Stacy!! I'm super interested in the Spurgeon Bible!!
My two favorites are the ESV Study Bible And the Woman’s Study Bible (NIV). I also use the Moody Bible Commentary for my studies. I just got The Message Bible, but haven’t had an opportunity to really use it yet. And I have many others too.
I need to get a Moody commentary!
The 1909 sounds precious!
@wanderingwithstacy Oh it is!
I want them all 🙌I can so relate
Happy to see your Bible collection. I love Bibles as well. I usually like to get the Large or SuperGiant print NKJV. Color usually Black,Brown or White leather cover.
I need a super giant print too! My eyes aren't getting any younger:)
I really LOVE study Bibles too!❤️
Thanks for sharing!!
I don’t have my Bibles from childhood anymore and I don’t know what happened to them 😢
It was so cool to see all your Bibles!
I honestly don't know how I've held on to mine. We moved all the time and I was always getting rid of my books because they were heavy and hard to move. I only have like 3 books from back then:(
I also have a bible buying problem aka addiction 🤦🏾♀️ beautiful collection 🙌🏾🙌🏾
They're like potato chips, you can't stop at one!
They're like potato chips!
I like using the ESV, but would like to eventually buy the NASB. I think that Melissa Dougherty mentioned on her channel that those two versions are more word for word. The apologetics study bible looks good.
I still need an NASB!
Thank you so much!
@@wanderingwithstacy You're welcome - keep up the awesome videos!
Thanks! I definitely need to get a giant print one too!
Thanks for sharing! I want to pick up the Reformation one!
I love there's so many choices!
That ABIDE Bible looks 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's so good! It's my most comfortable one to read because It's so floppy and I love the font!
@@wanderingwithstacy that’s exciting!!!
I LOVE study Bibles too! ❤
That was fun to watch. The Bible I use the most is the NKJV Life Application Bible - the first big study Bible I bought after becoming a Christian in 2013. I have other Bibles too and have considered making a video about them.
You should! Bible videos are some of my favorite to watch!
THANKS.
I have a lot of bibles too. Mostly study Bibles. I don't really make videos but I want to be like you lol, so maybe I will make one soon. I haven't really seen many men making videos like this of their Bibles..
You should totally do it!
You have some really cool bibles.
It's pretty amazing how much info they pack into them these days!
Hi Stacy! Love this video. I have been eyeing the Apologetics Bible so I ordered it after your review. 🙂
I hope you love it!
@@wanderingwithstacy Exactly! Easy, daily access 🔑 Thank you. Love your videos😊✝️
@MahoganyBelle Thank you for watching!
Hi Stacy,
I’m also a baby Christian and have started my bible collection. I’m currently using the ESV Study Bible which is being helpful. I also ha a CSB She Reads Truth bible and an NKJ V womenswear bible. I also go thru all comparing verses. Any helpful ideas for studying will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
It's like potato chips, can't stop at one!
Have you seen TH-cam channels How to Faith a Life and Nicki Drake Crazy Simple Truth. They do a great job on teaching you how to dig deeper in your Bible studies. Both have patron or patron style platform and do live Bible studies.
I have see those channels, they're great!
Thanks for sharing!! I really want to get a NASB95!
Great video. I also like watching bible videos too. I have the ray comfort (living waters) evidence study bible. So that’s the evangelist/apologetics style like the one you showed here. And my brother lent me his NIV study bible. That has maps and intros which the evidence one doesn’t. Subbed. 👏🙏
Thank you! I'm so glad you're here!
I like the NLT for readability. I like the cronilogial version of the bible because it realates the scripture as they occured. this helps w show the different scrioure together, especially the gospeles are compared to one another.
I loved comparing the gospels!
I Absolutely LOVE Bibles also. My husband laughs about how many I have. Probably my top 3 versions are the KJV, NKJV, and NIV. It’s hard to choose just one.
It really is!
It only matters as long as you read it
Absolutely!
You've got a great collection!
@@wanderingwithstacy I'm not Catholic, but I do periodically do cursory video reviews of Catholic Bibles.
Keep up the good work here!
@@ma-mo Im not Catholic either, but I just learned that their Bible had extra books in it. I've seen a lot of different opinions on that.
Thanks for sharing!
I have over 2 dozen Bible's but the one I go to is a new one. It's a N.L.T. Inspire praise Bible and you can color in it
I love my Charles Spurgeon Bible too!
