- I have a feeling this will be part one of two!
This is Ant and his three Chrysler Valiants, one Charger and two Pacers.
He also has a couple of JDMs coming through soon, and the completion of the restored Pacer... so stay tuned!
Best of era
The VG Pacer is just drop dead gorgeous. I love the black steelies too. I have a DVD showing Leo Geoghan manhandling one of these around Oran Park in Sydney. Geoghan was in the lead too until a wheel rim shattered.
Excellent. Really enjoyed this 👍 Love my muscle cars. Nice ‼️
It came full circle mate. Was meant 2b. Mopar fan here. Next door neighbour. Love my Valiants too. One day, I'll own just one, and next to having my son, it'll be the 2nd best thing lmao don't tell the missus! 😂😂
Wow that charger looks great !! It was good to see your collection
Mirabito performance here in Aus is getting over 300 rear wheel hp out of a 265
Yeah he does some great work, watch a lot of his vids.
Valiants+Wogs+passion= the only guy to do your engine work. Mirabito sure knows what he's doing.
Cool video I've had my pacer 37 years it's got a 331 code 265 e49 donk advanced engine dynamics in Bendigo built it back in 2016 for and got got 340 out of it on dyno very good result from excellent engine builders
My brother bought an original Charger E49 painted in vitamin C back in 1975. Back then I owned a Pacer 245 2 barrel painted in a mustard colour. His first E49 was stolen and eventually recovered, then he sold it. Today he owns yet another E49 which he has owned for at least 30 years also in vitamin C. It is immaculate after a very, very long nuts and bolts, bare metal rebuild. He lives in Mandurah a small coastal town in Western Australia.
Out of the box E49 302 bhp, stock 265 203 bhp. Yes, I remember the torque of my old 4.3 CL Charger 4 speed, tight and strong. Will keep an eye out for these around town.
Love the video. Chrysler nut here. I own a cm Chrysler (on my channel). Great cars.
I drive it when its going sounds like my first car a heap of problems ,, but had a lot of fun
Only when you change stuff I've owned 9 valiants didn't have much trouble with reliability but you alter things you gotta know what your doing.
Great to see the old Mopar held in high regard in NZ.
I reckon they differ from what we had in Aus. The VG pacer shown has a lower cut rear mudguard I reckon and I dont remember the Pacer going beyond the VG in Aus ( please correct me if I'm wrong). I had a VF slant six which dragged off all the local 253 holdens at the time, great memories.
Hiya... VG's definitely the same, the VH Pacer was available in Aust but is a lot rarer (especially the 4spd model) because coming out at roughly the same time as the Charger it just wasn't as popular so most got shipped to NZ--interestingly enough though there is apparently at least one E49 optioned VH Pacer still surviving somewhere in Aust
@@AntR711Thanks for that mate.
Had aVH pacer wicked car very rare these days I see plenty of chargers but no Pacers
Nice 👍 I had a Safari at one stage, beautiful car in baby blue. Kind of miss that...
Ant I guess you come back to look at this clip and the comments occasionally. We've never met but I'm a former long-term TD member too and it was fantastic to somehow stumble across this video in my recommendations, know it was you straight away, see you're doing well, and that you've added a realky nice Charger to your collection! Cheers mate, and take care.
Cheers, I've forwarded to Ant. Great you've made the connection!
@@BryceBrown1 Thanks mate, appreciated 👍
TD! Now there's a blast from the past... Cheers fella, who were/are you on there? I've just come back from Thailand as it happens.
Very, very nice.
Never manufactured in NZ.Only Adelaide. I was on the team that engineered, designed, drafted and assisted the guys in the plant to assemble the first charger and all that followed including testing and set up the racing teams.
Nice! You'd have a few good yarns to tell no doubt! 👍
Cheers Bryce, my own age is showing a bit and I got the years wrong there ('72 VH not '74) 😅Definitely have to get you back for the sequel!
Thanks Ant, what's a couple of years between friends? 😆 Looking forward to the sequel 👍
You did correct yourself in the clip- kinda off with the factory hp when you said around 200 when talking about E- 49's though. I had an oct. 71 XL Charger 265 when I was 16 back in 86. Went everywhere in that car. When I bought it, the caryard also had a VG 318 regal hardtop with factory air, white with black vinyl roof but damaged left quarter panel for $900, and a straight, tidy blue VH Pacer for $1200. My Charger was $1400. For me it was only ever going to be a Charger though!
@@rossbrumby1957 $1200 Pacers… those were the days. Regency Blue? One of my favorite colors
good on you good to see.
Beautiful VH
Rarer definitely makes it more expensive and valuable. An owner of multiple hot Valiants can't remember factory hp numbers? What the?
And I often forget my own phone number or what I had for dinner yesterday… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ No big deal
@@AntR711 😆
The E49 "Tribute" - how did you get the scolloped rear quarter panels?
@AntR711 (the owner) should be able to tell you
VG pacer 2bbl did very well at bathurst 3rd outright 4bbl not as successful
E49 302 bhp from factory
vh was 72 only ... check book collector lol .nice cars all the same . the bloke needs to do some study before bla bla
If you scroll down the comments, you'll see that Ant has corrected himself on that. Easy slip of the tongue when a camera is pointing at you... He's definitely passionate. Not a wealthy guy, but he has poured a lot of resources into bringing these cars up to scratch, probably for the next person to enjoy.
I thought they come out in 71 to 73 but My favourite is the 72
