I drove a VJ Ranger for years, best car I ever had, lost it in the 2009 black Saturday fires. Good to see you saving a few old Val's. They deserve another chance to get back on the road.
How nice to see you got a couple of V8 regals. 20k for a charger in that condition gets a bit much . Mate asked me to look at a VJ charger for 30k and when I got there I said where is it . Was just a rusted out shell beyond repair totally gutted . Told him just buy a cl regal in good condition for half the price. They really go silly on charger.prices and especially Toranas but that's a Holden so who cares . Glad those 2 went to the right bloke, you just made my weekend mate.
I went with. Dad to look at two chargers a few weeks ago, the bloke wanted $20k and it was in order condition than that one, no running gear, nothing left of the floor or boot bloody ridiculous the price people ask for a charger 🤦♂️
Back in the day you could pick up a one owner Val for under a 1000 bucks and all the spares were available from the Northcote tip for half dozen stubbies.

Vals In The Wild. I didn't think such a sight existed since the 1990s!' Thanks for sharing. PS lemon flavoured CM might be the one Peter Wherrett test drove all the way back in 80.
Pretty good chance the CM is the one from Torque. A three speed automatic car with power steering with the rego SDC 660 was in the magazine Modern Motor from January 1979......so they said. But the CM on Torque has the same rego number and is three speed manual with no power steering. Someone at the magazine stuffed up there. I can't find a breakdown of numbers showing transmissions fitted to base model CM's anywhere, only that 7,153 Valiant sedans were produced out of the 16,000 or so that were produced. From what I can gather though, most Valiants had automatic transmissions optioned in. It just might be the same car. If it is it would be great to see it bought back to its former self as a tribute to Peter Wherret.
The VG Wayfarer ute was a smart unit and has not a bad crate on the back, hell what a collection of Val's and just 1 other thing, you're supposed to do some circle work in the paddock before leaving Denni :) cheers
