This was a great video, you gave a clear example. I've been considering the S5II/X for a replacement for my Fuji system. This feature would be a great resource for me with travel photography. I would love to see some outdoor photos, urban and natural landscapes.
I went to to the website and it looks like they just got another firmware update literally TODAY (December 20, 2023). I used to rag on people who were all about megapixels but this is like it's creating OPTICAL resolution, almost like shooting with a medium format camera, that's small. Love it.
I‘ve been doing selfies with my OM-1 in 50MP HiRes. From my point of view I need 2-3 tries to get a sharp image. I assume with a shutterspeed of 500 you should be able to get portraits with a S5II or G9II. Since I‘m planning on buying one of the two please let me know if it works.
in the results section the comparison was not 100% fair because you zoomed in more with the 24mp. The image is clearly larger. I'm sure the 96mp is sharper, but looks like you wanted to exaggerate the difference a bit...

Ive been using the feature a lot and its pretty good. I think you'll get even better results when using lenses with OIS.

I used it a lot with my GH6 for landscapes and enjoy my excellent large prints 👍 So I will be using it on the S5ii as well.

It's easier at a faster shutter speed but I wouldn't recommend it for portraits
Can this work with electronic shutter? If yes, what's the possible drawback of doing so?
Good question. Unsure. If yes it may introduce banding the same as with a normal electronic shutter
I don't understand what's stopping us from doing high res mode handheld? How does the camera know whether we're using a tripod?
