When Jimmy Means appeared on the Dale Jr. Download, Jimmy said that he saw Neil Bonnett's crash when it happened. Jimmy was adamant that Neil blew a right front tire. He said he heard the tire blow. Both Neil and Rodney were on Hoosier tires. Goodyear benefitted greatly from the PR disaster that these accidents caused.
I know, I saw that interview with Jimmy. And it's hard to go against what he believes he heard, but I've also read from several sources that the tires themselves were all still up and inflated (to what psi I've never heard?) AFTER the wrecks. And I know the power that corporate PR BS has over the ability to manipulate the mind of the consumer and Jimmy was always good with Good Year. Not to Dave Marcis' level but still. Add to that the power that NA$CAR has over its competitors to control what they say and think. And NA$¢AR did *NOT* like Hoosier or want them around. They only allowed them in as a precaution in case Good Year's new owners decided to pull out. Then later because they wanted to strong arm Good Year when they signed their new exclusivity contract with them after 1994. Dirty business all around but that's nothing new with NASCAR. 🙄
Much like other situations like with the Owen Hart fall in WWF, the cameras are always rolling so Orrs crash is likely on tape but will never be seen. And I heard a rumor once that there was an in car cam in Dales car since he had a a roof cam but I don't think there was.
There was no in-car camera in Dale's car, I remember that day vividly and that's indeed just a rumor. Otherwise logically they wouldn't have needed 5 months of investigation to try and figure out how he died.
This is not true. Dale had roof and bumper cameras, but no in-car cameras. He didn't like having in-car cameras because he was prone to doing stuff like flipping other drivers off and he knew it would mean fines and points penalties.
Not gonna lie, that’s actually a slick-looking livery.

Guarantee there was... but considering the circumstances and scene afterward inside, that will never be seen.
Yep. same can be said for many other crashes.

@@ryankoch504an in car cam wouldn't tell you for sure if his harness failed. That was moreso what they were investigating.

Neil Bonnett's crash has video footage. It's on TH-cam somewhere.
@@thomas.wells1985 Only that grainy partial footage from someone in the infield
RIP Rodney Orr
Holy crap, where did you find this footage?
It was from a local news story on Rodney

Nah, he was just a troll scumbag bragging on his TH-cam hit count. I already deleted several of his hate messages.
