I really related to the ‘live to eat’ and the shepherds pie story. I told my hubby that the Mounjaro has turned down the food noise so much and went thru an example of the ‘dialogue’ that happens all the time in my head and he was shocked. He had no idea that someone would go thru all that every minute of everyday. It’s hard for those ‘eat to live’ people to understand. Just had to say your story really resonated with me! Thank you for your videos ❤😊
Thank you so much for your kind words and sharing your story, too! Mounjaro is so incredibly helpful. I am so grateful to have the food noise turned down and understand my grandma's "eat to live" perspective. I am also happy that food still tastes good to me. I am not giving up the joy of dining with friends and family. I am just no longer a slave to hunger and time consuming thoughts of my next meal. I am so glad we are on this new health journey together, Deb! 😀
Can also totally relate to live to eat. I hesitate to put food in my mouth because I know once I get a taste of it I won’t want to stop. That frightens me and makes me worry that I will not be successful with my weight loss journey on Mounjaro.
Have you started taking Mounjaro, yet? For me, food still tastes good but for the first time ever, I can stop earlier than I used to because my body remembers the pain of overeating on Mounjaro. I am more careful to eat slower and try not to get too full. I still messed up one day last week and I share it in my Week #6 video I made on Monday. My mess up wasn't as bad as my one with the shephard's pie and I took one Pepcid Complete tablet with a bunch of water which helped me to not get too nauseated. I have only thrown up one time in 6 and a half weeks on Mounjaro and that was the shephard's pie incident. Don't give up until you give it a good chance. I am seeing so many people lose tons of weight and lower their a1c with Mounjaro. I hope it does work for you. You may be surprised! If it doesn't you can always ask your doctor to take you off it and try something else. I wish you all the best! Keep me updated on your journey, too! We got this!
Hello! Thank you so much for replying in your kind words of encouragement. Yes, I have started taking Mounjaro. I just took my third shot of 2.5 on Sunday. I’m hoping the higher doses will help more.
hi im from boston i am in tennesee now. i am 69 and had my first shot sat last week i also had weight loss surgery in 2020 i weighed 334 i am gaining they said that would happen. i didnt know that. i am 280 now. i am one who will faithfull listen and learn. thank u .
Thanks, Lisa, for sharing your journey with us! A lot of people who do weight loss surgery and then start on Mounjaro or Zepbound do really well. One famous comedian/talk show host, Rose O'Donnell, did both and finds that having mounjaro curb her food noise has been a game changer for her and better than her gastric sleeve alone. I wish you all the best! Please keep me updated on your progress! 😀
I am so glad I found you I have learned so much .I start Mounjaro next week .I am a lot nervous. Thank you for being so honest and prayers for your husband. I have been there myself and so far so good God bless you
Hi Maria! Thank you for the kind words! They mean a lot! I am saying a prayer for you right now too that your health stays in the good zone and you also do well on your upcoming Mounjaro journey! Hi there, nice regular person! Thanks for the video. Good for you for all of your efforts to get your diabetes under control. I was diagnosed in 1990, t2. Not a lot of info out at that time, and certainly none of these new meds. So hopefully it will help you stop diabetes in its tracks before it causes your health damage. Too late for me, but your videos will help so many people, so keep sharing the wisdom, dear!
Hi Julieann! Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! I wish they had these new meds for you 30 years ago. I will pray that they will come up with something that will make you feel better. ❤
Thank you for your videos and your upbeat personality. I look forward to your videos I started Wegovy (which is the copartner to Ozempic) 5 weeks ago and have lost 8 pounds, so I’m in a similar boat as you. To me, it didn’t seem like a lot but just google a picture of what 7 or 8 pounds looks like and more importantly than the scale are the nonscale victories (like those little things you notice like I was able to get out of the bathtub easier and my clothes start to fit differently). I’ve also come to the convludion that although big numbers sound appealing and a lot of people making videos have that they also down the road then have an issue with loose skin, I think slower weight lost of 1-2 pounds weekly is going to stay my goal to try to avoid that skin problem months down the road. Again, thanks for the videos and just sharing your experience as we all need each other and can understand what each are going through. Will be praying for you and your husband.
Thanks Tracey for your kind words and prayers! Congrats on your 8 pound loss so far! Slow and steady will help us with our skin. I am in this for the long haul with you! Bonus, we can still enjoy eating...just not overeating. We got this! ❤️
Thank you so much for your MJ Mondays. I appreciate having another person so similar to myself to share and learn from. I’m 60f, just past meno, have T2 and hypothyroid. Today is day 10 and I’ve lost 4.8#, but scale not moved in 4 days. I’m walking, tracking foods and macros. Most difficult for me is drinking 80-100 oz water daily. Crystal light is helping. I’ve had no side effect. I feel some appetite suppression but I still enjoy my meals. I’m being careful by adding fiber supplements, Pepcid and 100g protein. I’ve found I really like Fairlife chocolate protein shake, but I cut it 50/50 with milk otherwise it’s too sweet. Good luck to you (and me!)
You totally got this! 😀 You are doing all the healthy best practices! I look forward to getting more updates from you as we journey together!! I plan to go live each MJ Monday! See you next week!
Hi Gina! Such good information again this week. I look forward to your weekly videos. I just ordered a bag of the Strawberry Yoggies. Hugs & Prayers to you and your sweet Hubby. I have been blessed with a sweet Hubby myself. Have a great week ahead. 🎉🤗⭐️🙏🏻
Thank you for your kind words Donna and for watching! We are both truly blessed to have precious husbands! ❤️ See you next MJ Monday! Have a great week!
I am type 2 diabetic, past menopause (67), and I take Januvia, Basaglar insulin, and Mounjaro (7.5, but dr just sent in 10 for me). My Basaglar is 40 dollars for 90 days of injections. My Mounjaro is $40 a month. I have Federal Blue Cross and Medicare. I am losing weight on the 7.5 but didn't lose anything on the lesser dosages. My blood sugar is doing awesome on Mounjaro. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Kathy! My dad started on 7.5 MG and has stayed on that dose. It works wonders for him and he no longer needs his insulin. He has lost 60 pounds too! He has been diabetic over 20 years and this is his favorite medicine. I am so glad your blood sugar is doing awesome on Mounjaro, too! Thanks so much for sharing your journey including your insurance experience. It may help others, too! Thanks for your kind words and for watching! Have a great week! 😀
Thank you Charity for your kind words and watching! 2.5 MG didn't give me nausea either. I am on 5 MG now and if I don't overeat, I am fine. I did throw up one day in week #4. I was not prepared for it! Now I have TUMS and Previcid on hand and at the slightest inkling, I can take one and I am fine. Most days I don't need a TUMS now that I am mindful to stop eating when I am satisfied versus full. Beano helps me too and I can eat gassy foods like cabbage in my salad or even a homemade chili with beans. You are right about the same place on the journey as me. I just started week #6 and am loving Mounjaro. So awesome to not have the food noise and have lower blood sugar! 😋 Keep me updated! We can be MJ journey buddies! We got this! ❤️
Zophran is amazing!! I haven't really needed it since the first month. I'm 55, type 2 diabetic, started July 1st and with this medication, diet and exercise I'm down 71 pounds!!🎉
I just found your channel and am enjoying your content. I was wondering if you could let me know the name of Dr. Hormone please? I couldn’t locate her on TH-cam. I also wanted to know which brand of fiber gummies you use. Thank you
Great question! Yes I do. There was a study of type 2 diabetes who took Mounjaro with Metformin and those who took Mounjaro by itself. Those who took both lost more weight. I am going to continue to do both!
@brianne571 that is a good question. I started counting my calories about 2 weeks before my type 2 diabetes diagnosis in October of 2020. I was eating 400 calories four times a day 4 hours apart. My hubby did it too and we called it the 4-4-4 program. I was losing weight and in "the zone" to try to lose a few pounds before my daughter's wedding. I found out I had type 2 diabetes the week of her wedding. That was a huge wakeup call. I started exercising more for my health while taking Metformin. I lost 47 pounds from October 2020 to June 2021. Metformin might have helped some but definitely eating less and exercising more helped a lot. Thanks for asking this question! I will answer more on this topic on this coming Mounjaro Monday Live video. Have a great weekend, Brianne!
@AnchorMoments That's a great amount you lost just with metformin. I wonder if you were hungry on it? Do you think it kept you on your 4 4 4 plan? I can't get glp 1 so I wonder if metformin helps you not eat as much because that what all the gap1 s make you not hungry. If you don't mind did you maintain your weight after that weight loss on metformin ? That's really impressive amount on your 4 4 4 plan!
@@brianne571 Metformin doesn't take away my hunger like Mounjaro. I'll share more about 4-4-4 tomorrow on my Mounjaro Monday live. Thank you so much for asking questions! It helps me get ideas to share on my lives that you would be interested in hearing. It is my hope to help! All lives are saved on this channel to be watched anytime. Have a happy Sunday! 😀
Hi! I usually take my injection between 4 pm to 7 pm on Mounjaro Mondays during my live videos or immediately after. I watched another TH-camr yesterday mention she used to do her shots in the evening and after a year on Mounjaro, she likes to vary the time of day as well as location of the shot. You can do it during the time of day that works best for you.
Hi I just started and I had a pretty bad sulfur burps so I was doing a lot of research on that and it really actually says one of the things to limit is fruits so go crazy on your veggies go crazy on your plain hamburger patties and chicken breast with no seasoning Etc. It's very sad for me because I live on eggs , hard-boiled eggs and scrambled. love eggs with a piece of Keto toast and it said no no no no no one no no no no no eggs or bread products and limit fruit. I'm like well I don't know what I'm going to live on because I have to have low sodium , limit Dairy and sugar because I'm diabetic so right now I've had two bananas in a piece of lunch the last 48 hours so you're right you do need someone to help you with a meal plan .I'm surprised that they don't do that when they give us these shots. But you're a very cute I love your presentation
Hi Maria! I haven't experienced sulfur burps yet. How long have you been on Mounjaro? Did it happen after you titrated up a level? It would be hard to give up eggs. They are full of protein and are so easy to make! I eat them every week in some way. Fruit and bread, too, would be hard. Would it help to have TUMS or Gas X? What does your doctor recommend to get rid of it?
How many grams of protein do you try to get daily? I haven’t had any appetite suppression since I started & my 3rd injection will be Wed. I think I’m getting too little daily grams of protein & maybe increasing my protein intake, I’ll get the appetite suppression. I enjoy your videos so much bc I’m learning so much. Ty!
Hi Elaine! More protein and water may help. One gentleman I saw on TH-cam said that he eats meat with his breakfast and that helps him so much. I just put in a message in to my Rally Coach to ask. I have read that for a woman my age I should shoot for 100 grams of protein and I have been shooting for that but don't always make it. Another TH-camr said her nutritionist says 100 to 120 but her Weight Watchers app says 80 something. She tries for 100.
I eat 100-120 grams of protein per day. One gallon of water…. Eat smaller portions. Shepherds pie isn’t good lying on your stomach for a long period of time.
Hi Judy! So far so good. I have been taking one 35 calorie scoop of Vital Proteins colleges which has 9 grams of protein in my coffee or in a protein powder smoothie each day. I also am eating at least 50 to 100 grams of protein each day too and am only on 5 gms of Mounjaro. I don't know if I'll have hair loss in the future but so far I am not. Thank you so much for your questions, Judy! I will address them in my lMounjaro Monday live tomorrow. I hope you have a good day! 😀
I have a diabetes diagnosis. My insurance did not cover it 2 years ago when I first looked into it. I tried again in January of 2024, and it finally did cover it. It is showing that it helps with cardiovascular issues and sleep apnea. Hopefully, these reports will help more people get insurance coverage even if they are not diabetic.
