here is 10small tips to any US citizen that wants to come to Australia.
    1. leave your attitude along with your guns at the departure lounge.
    2. don't panic! it will be there waiting for you when you get back, we don't want it.
    3. you cannot buy, nor carry a gun over here, this is not the wild west as it is in the USA.
    4. enjoy the sites the food and the different cultures.
    5. Australia has a culture, they have song, dance and food and we are proud of it.
    6. The US has, Levi's jeans, McDonalds, mass shootings, guns and bombs and you are proud of it?
    7. take lots of photo's, buy the occasional souvenir.
    8. when you get back to the US "the home of the brave and the free," pick up your gun and your attitude, you will notice it is still there in tact as you left it.
    9. Show your friends the photo's and tell them you had a nice time.
    10. Oh and don't forget to tell your friends you experienced real freedom for the first time in your life not having to carry a gun!

He's right when it comes to work/life balance though. Americans only get 2 weeks of annual leave per year compared to our 4, and there's no such thing as long service leave there. Also, they're routinely EXPECTED to work overtime (according to my cousins who live there). Here, if you work 9 to 5, for the most part you work 9 to 5. If you're still at work at 5.15, many bosses here will kick you out because they want to go home themselves. I don't know if it's the work hours he's referring to or the attitude toward work. I work long hours, 12 hour shifts, but the management here makes sure we're gone on the dot and not hanging around for a second longer. Our bags are on our shoulders and all gear signed in and accounted for at the 11 hour 55 minute mark of our shift, just waiting for the clock to tick over and we're out of there like bats out of hell, including the boss. I think that's very Australian :)

I guess compared to yanks that will shoot each just for looking their way or for driving offensively, we still yell & scream at times, occasionally beat the crap outta each other. Especially middle aged men or women between 20-40 as both groups are seeming careless about roadrage. But we dont need to kill each other, everything else in this land tried to do that everyday. Most stars like here cause they can walk around & often the most they get is asked if they are in a cover band or get told "you know, you really look a lot like this or that person", especially in tiny Adelaide, that's more like an advanced country town than a capital city.
