  • Lashing onto the apron rod.
This is a 50” Norwood loom with a rectangular square apron rod.
The warp is a cotton acrylic blend called Jeannee that I’m using to weave two baby blankets. My individual bouts were pretty uneven in length on this warp, so I trimmed the longer ones so they were more consistent.
I lash on with nylon cord because I believe it’s more slippery and I want it to be able to move around a bit to help distribute the tension evenly.
I also give my apron rod some forward and backward turns to help encourage that movement and redistribution of tension along with plucking the lashing cord and pressing down on the warp.
