- Gabon is a country rich in biological diversity. Like its trackless forests, remote mountains and sandy beaches, its sovereign waters burst with life.
Yet when large industrial purse seine fishing operators trap non-target species in their nets, Africa's Eden is threatened. By-catch is a major contributor to overfishing and poses a serious risk to the health of marine ecosystems.
Having earlier cut free an entangled whale shark as part of Operation Albacore, Sea Shepherd continues to assist Gabonese authorities in their exploration of measures to mitigate incidental mortality and serious injury, and where possible aid the successful release of critical species... In this case a rare Bryde's whale.

This is a really great pleasure and a great relief to see Sea Shepherd releasing a whale, dolphins, shark, Bluefin, turtle or any other specie out of those criminal nets!
I love your work sea Shepherd but i gotta admit in this case it does look a bit as if it was your net 👀
and the cammo was to hard to handle on the boats and I disagree the black looked cool on the ships but and the grey looks more like a navy destroyer whitch is cool

I love whaling tho, whale meat is delicious. Most fishing is legal, and the amount of illegal fishing it so small that it is not even important.
