Operation Albacore: Whale Shark Release

- Whale sharks are the largest fish in the ocean, originating on the planet more than 60 million years ago. As a result of global fishing pressures, both from being deliberately targeted for their meat, fins and oil and their death as bycatch in other fisheries, their survival is threatened. In July 2016 their status on ‘The IUCN Red List of Endangered Species’ was even upgraded from ‘vulnerable’ to ‘endangered’ - meaning that their populations have likely halved in the last 75 years.
During the Bob Barker's most recent patrol of Gabon’s Exclusive Economic Zone, as part of Operation Albacore, the crew assisted in the release of one of the lucky ones that managed to get away.
In continuing to document by-catch and survey release methods Operation Albacore remains steadfast in its commitment to assist Gabonese authorities in their exploration of measures to mitigate incidental mortality and serious injury, and where possible aid the successful release of critical species.

Yes Sea Shepherd is composed by Courageous and Generous who are able to take their responsibility as humans and do whatever it takes. They are really able to do what must be done by everyone of us and every Governements but so coward and so greedy to take action!!! Paul Watson more than any other deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for all his positive and beneficial actions for more than 40 years first with Greenpeace then since 1977 with Sea Shepherd. Paul Watson protects whales and all marine creatures and preserves the biodiversity of the oceans, and therefore the future of the planet. He tackles the big lobby of the Uyoki Dantai that supports the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and which owns the fish companies including the fisheries agency of Japan who own the infamous Nisshin Maru the factory boat that cuts the whales and all its fleet. Paul Watson tackles all fronts to protect Biodiversity from the oceans. The dolphin massacre in TAIJI (Japan), whales in FAROES (Denmark), illegal fishing all over the world. If Paul Watson had not been there things would be far worse than now for biodiversity. To campaign for Paul Watson to have the Nobel Peace Prize will help raise awareness of the importance of Biodiversity on our planet!

A whale shark is a Masterpiece in the Oceans! the nets ; driftnet, gill net, and trawling are devastating for these majestic animals and it is a crime to trap them to trap all Marine species, let them live Fishermen! The human species has so much imagination, but not for good things. There must be a way to safely catch only fish. We have enough troubles with idiots who are breaking the law.
