too bad they didn't make it the same form-factor as the mate 20, that is the most awesome size and shape for a phone I've held in my hand, but hard for anyone to seriously consider it when the screen is not even OLED.. the p30 has an OLED screen but it is a bit small compared to the mate 20, but probably great for a woman's hands. The mate 20 sits between the mate 20 pro which is too thin and the x pro which is too wide.. the p20 pro is only slightly wider than the mate 20 pro but it stil makes a huge difference in my opinion, the p30 pro's shape and lack of huge-ass notch makes the screen way better than the mate 20 pro's, who cares about a few more pixels? I was thinking I'm going to buy the p30 but after playing a few times in the store with it and the p30 pro, I've decided my next phone will be the p30 pro. The advantages (slightly better camera, better battery life) just outweigh the design problems like the sloping edges and being too tall for the width (both of which makes rotated videos look small, it is fine/great for reading content when you hold the phone vertically though)

Great review! Thank you. I've been trying to decide between the P30 and P30 pro. I'm an amateur photographer, so the camera is important to me. Is it worth paying extra for the P40 or buying a p30 ??
Upgraded from s8 not disappointed better camera especially in low light far better battery after 6 hours of GPS tracking and streaming music with Bluetooth headphones still had 70% battery left on s8 would have been on about 30% also screen seems brighter even though has lower specs didn't go for pro as wanted a smaller phone around the size of the s8 but is also a prettier phone than the s8 and feels a more solid phone in the hand also GPS is more accurate for my work

Hi, thanks for your video. By the way, what is the model of your camera/lens that you used to record this video? I really liked its quality, even more than p30 :)
I hate the curve sreen, and I hate large phone. A phone, saying for itself, should be the thing you are able to carry around to COMMUNICATE. If it is so inconvenient to be put into your pocket, then what is the point? If I spend more time surfing the internet, social media, watching news, I can use a tablet. If I am fond of game, buy a PC or a lap. Nowadays they stuff too many... stuff into this piece of device. The only downside of the P30 is that it cannot fully submerge into water and not full dust-resistant.
For 400 € this is a great pick. Even if Galaxy S10e costed the same, it would be hard to decide which to pick. One of the best phones of 2019, though price was way too high at launch.
There is an ultra wide, when in the camera app using the rear camera, pinch outwards otherwise tattoo the 2x buttons until it changes to the 0.6x zoom, I don't own one so I can't help you with the selfie portrait, my friend has the Mate 20 and it has the option so it has to be there somewhere
The mate 20 pro for sure. Better display (2k) while on the p30 is 1080p. Better battery life on the mate 20 pro too(4200 vs 3650 mAh) , ip 68 certificate, stereo speaker, wireless charging, ir blaster, etc....
@@willianmkd909 I agree with everything you mentioned BUT the display isn't better, it is sharper, but most markets are getting the BOE screen which is awful. The phone has been released for 6 months now, and people are still complaining over it's display over reddit, xda, and Huawei forums. I returned my Mate 20 Pro and my wife's after 6 replaced units in total, and it was a tough decision to take, because I loved that device. The P30 also have the better cameras, front and back.
There are plenty of deals out there. In the UK Vodafone are effectively giving the P30 away on a 2 year contract! £26 a month and £75 down, the same SIM only price. Huawei are really in a war with Samsung, playing them at their own game, heavy discounts and go for sales rather than revenue. This can only be good for consumers though other OEMs are facing a slow mature market with margins falling as the big boys face off for domination.
That's with 5gb data too, I checked. Almost as good as the £26 a month with £29.99 upfront and 8gb data I got the P30 for with my EE upgrade. But I get discounts through work.
Helpful video! Been really considering the P30, but wasn't sure about some aspects. Could you by chance comment on sound quality though headphones and/or aux input for a car stereo. I'm coming from the HTC U11, and it seems to be much better quality than some devices I've tried in that regard. Hoping this wouldn't be much of a downgrade in that aspect.
Man, the colors are magnificent! They surely know how to make good looking phones. What is sad is the sound level when taking videos with the selfie camera.
About sound quality for me it's perfect with a lot of bass I don't know why your device it's not so good. I can here my Phone ringing from a mile away.. That quality in Sound its simular with the Sony Ericsson express music series from the past.
i have and love this phone - but someone needs to confirm that zooming past 1x on any camera brings in a lot of weird morphing noise in the video. Even worse in Filmic Pro, I've resorted to only shooting without ever zooming in --- so now I have to buy various high-end sandmarc lenses that cost $100 each
So do you mean., P30pro and p30 has no difference regarding the low light camera? It's amazing ti know that., I thought p30 pro has low light camera while the p30 doesn't have??? Please.. Answer me. Thanks

Hi pls help! I just got a p30, does it have an ultrawide camera? And how do i use it? Also why does portrait not work when taking selfies
There is an ultra wide, when in the camera app using the rear camera, pinch outwards otherwise tattoo the 2x buttons until it changes to the 0.6x zoom, I don't own one so I can't help you with the selfie portrait, my friend has the Mate 20 and it has the option so it has to be there somewhere
which should i get between mate 20 pro and p30 ( not pro) battery and indoor picture quality is priority? thanks
The mate 20 pro for sure. Better display (2k) while on the p30 is 1080p. Better battery life on the mate 20 pro too(4200 vs 3650 mAh) , ip 68 certificate, stereo speaker, wireless charging, ir blaster, etc....
They share the same camera module.
@@willianmkd909 thanks brother
@@willianmkd909 I agree with everything you mentioned BUT the display isn't better, it is sharper, but most markets are getting the BOE screen which is awful. The phone has been released for 6 months now, and people are still complaining over it's display over reddit, xda, and Huawei forums. I returned my Mate 20 Pro and my wife's after 6 replaced units in total, and it was a tough decision to take, because I loved that device.
The P30 also have the better cameras, front and back.
@@willianmkd909 it does not, only the tele. Main sensor is the new super spectrum RYYB on the p30 and p30 pro.
Watching with my p30 i love it..
How much is the p30 in the US?
Just ordered one coming tomorrow. The only things that swung me was the audio jack and it’s smaller I’m not a fan of these huge phones
Is there a protective film attached at the time of opening?
Yes
Helpful video! Been really considering the P30, but wasn't sure about some aspects. Could you by chance comment on sound quality though headphones and/or aux input for a car stereo. I'm coming from the HTC U11, and it seems to be much better quality than some devices I've tried in that regard. Hoping this wouldn't be much of a downgrade in that aspect.
I tried the earphones included with it and sounded decent. Bit lacking in bass perhaps but better earphones would likely sort that out.
Louder and more full sound than my old s8 in fact 50%volume was sufficient
now i've decided to buy huawei p30 soon than the pro version. tq i like your video :)
Thanks!
would you say mate 20 pro or p30?
Mate 20 pro
@@stanimirstoev5463 Why is it better please?
@@sh4495 resistance, screen, stereo, etc
Man, the colors are magnificent! They surely know how to make good looking phones. What is sad is the sound level when taking videos with the selfie camera.
what camera that you are using on this video review?☺️
Sony A7III :)
that's too expensive..thank you..
I honestly fell in love with it I love how small it is because I have small hands and it fits perfectly it's a finebea
P30 or mate 20 pro
Mate 30 pro
Do you think the p30 lite is to cheap and looses to much in the downgrade?
About sound quality for me it's perfect with a lot of bass I don't know why your device it's not so good. I can here my Phone ringing from a mile away.. That quality in Sound its simular with the Sony Ericsson express music series from the past.
Is it have gorrila glass 6 ?
i have and love this phone - but someone needs to confirm that zooming past 1x on any camera brings in a lot of weird morphing noise in the video.
Even worse in Filmic Pro, I've resorted to only shooting without ever zooming in --- so now I have to buy various high-end sandmarc lenses that cost $100 each
P30 p30pro same camra? No zoom
So do you mean., P30pro and p30 has no difference regarding the low light camera? It's amazing ti know that., I thought p30 pro has low light camera while the p30 doesn't have??? Please.. Answer me. Thanks
It has.
It has the same superspectrum sensor. But the PRO is better in lowlight but the non pro is still very capable.
I tried it at our local shop with fiio fh7 omg the sound it's amazing better than my note 9! the only con I dont like about it's the notch it's like a little block dot on your screen it gets really annoying when you're watching video
p30 or p20 pro?
From iPhone 7+, just bought this phone today... Thanks for the review 😊
Xiaoyi 527527 im also an iphone7 user... considering if i should change to this model
how is the performance of p30?
@@naurukwk is so good... Fast and battery rlly amazing.
The only con for me is the IP53 thats a real bummer
What do you mean?
It's funny. The p30 has a flat screen and the p30 pro has a curved screen. Most people think this an additional feature for the pro version that justifies the higher price. I don't think so!
Does it have face id what? Everywhere i check specs it doesnt say face id
He mentioned facial recognition in the video. So yes.
P20 Pro vs Regular P30? Which one?
thanks for covering the less covered device
The P30 have no Glas back cover.
It does have a back glass cover
What is the price in india of p30

S10+ rlly good s10 fail
I like that you did a side by side camera comparison. Very helpful
