That's always been the case. Media, Influencers etc, LOVE Twitter. Artists and people whose jobs revolve around Twitter kinda need it, drama llamas find it entertaining, and people into activism or stuff like that can find groups, and news feeds. But for the most part, most people aren't that interested in actively using it. It's why it's so low on the social media totem pole. Media and Influencers are the ones usually pumping it up far more than what it's worth.

Scary how much impact the mainstream media can have on people's minds when they all chant the same pre-scripted phrases to attack anyone who doesn't align with their views. This is done via the news, partisan celebrities and late night talk show hosts where they parrot to their audience to agree with anything they say that is negative against anyone they want to bring down, be it Elon or anyone else. There was a time when I would watch CNN and take what they said at face value because I believed what the news told me was factual or when Jimmy Kimmel would say something that was written for him by his 14 writers, injected with humor and applauded by his audience to portray that his opinions were the truth when it was orchestrated to convince you and shape your opinions to match his own. I have. Best not to get sucked in by anyone and dig in yourself. For now, Elon revealing The Twitter Files is far more convincing since that is what the media deliberately avoided in their news cycles.

I'm gonna drop comments for things that seem wrong.
Elon's price for twitter wasn't "reasonable" it was way WAY more than the company was worth - something he's learning very quickly.
Elon didn't "put the offer on hold because he thought there were too many fake accounts" he put it on hold because he was trying to back out of the contract he already signed that he was legally obligated to go through with - because he realized how much of an idiot he'd been with his offer. He only went through with it when they threatened to initiate legal proceedings to force him to honour his contract.
When you say "he's changed what's allowed on the platform, including unbanning Trump" you left out that he's banning anyone who criticizes or makes fun of him, prominent journalists, leftist activists, and people he just doesn't like (e.g. elonjet.) - sometimes inventing "policy" after the fact and announcing it via tweet to justify the bans - policies that aren't actually being enforced beyond the one account that personally offended him.
It's pretty mad to call Elon's companies "progressive companies" when they have some of the least worker-friendly conditions in industry, or to say that Tesla is trying to push us towards an ecofriendly future when they specifically designed and patented their charging stations to not work with other electric cars (suppressing sales of them). (This is one of Elon's only contributions to the company) The way these companies are operated is profit-driven, and claims of progressive ideals is just marketing.
Knowing this, the claim that Elon bought twitter "for the good of humanity" is laughable when he's unbanning neonazis, and banning his critics - unless he believes that criticism of powerful people and a platform for neonazis counts as "the good of humanity"
When you say "there's no debating Elon's intelligence" and that he's built cars and launched rockets... He's not actually BUILT anything, he inherited a large amount of money from an emerald mine, bought companies that "looked cool" and then basically did nothing while the smart people there continued doing what they were doing before (although often under worse conditions.) He only has his name on three patents, all of which arguably make their products worse for everyday people.
When you say "there's no debating his intelligence" One of the very few ideas he actually had himself was for the hyperloop project - a terrible tiny tunnel for cars that cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and transports fewer people per hour than a local bus - a project so bad that it's been scrapped and the existing spaces turned into car parks. Hyperloop is a running joke in urban planning circles.
Just bear this in mind when thinking about Twitter. People have been reporting that he's fired 75% of the workforce. They haven't reported WHO he's been firing. You should know that he fired the entirety of the accountability team, the transparency team, and the accessibility team... and the ethics team.

Clever Trevor you sound like you know it all but reading some of your so called facts whilst behaving intelligent is amusing. The reason why I am being kinda demeaning towards you is because you doing the very same thing to someone else because you haven't found out the facts. Elons dad was wealthy but wasn't the reason for his success. He was coding already at age 14 and made his very own game. He then created paypal with his brother and ended up selling it for 180 million usd. He believed batteries were the way when he got involved at Tesla. The previous two owners weren't taking the company anywhere and agreed to sell off earlier on. He took it from technically not much into something that's highly sophisticated. As said on video by the one previous owner and said it was their own choice. What did he accomplish? Long range batteries whilst ice still being the go to. He changed that perspective. He sped up the process of autonomous technology etc. The previous owners did NOT want to use their own personal funds to drive Tesla forward but Elon did. He literally risked going bankrupt for both Tesla ans SpaceX. Because he saw the potential. Many years later where's Tesla? At the same time of funding Tesla, he started SpaceX because the Russians never took him seriously. Where's SpaceX today even though they competed against seriously tough competition from Nasa and other private companies. SpaceX still managed to rise to the top. You telling me all of this is him being stupid? Then I'm worried about you🤣 Do you actually have anything that you are saying that you have physically looked up yourself?

It must be that they're crooks.
It must be that they're stealing other people's ideas, other people's resources, and make money out of it, while "creating nothing on their own". Right?
Here's a question. You're saying that there are a lot of people running around with brilliant ideas, which billionaires steal to make a profit. Isn't it conceivable that the billionaires themselves are one of these brilliant people? Why do they have to be those that steal, wouldn't at least some of the people on your little story that are brilliant but get stolen from, be so brilliant that they decide hey, I can make money out of my ideas, and then become billionaires themselves?

There is one principle saying like that: you don't need to be the smartest person, but surround yourself by people that are smarter than you and put them do the job instead. This is exactly what he does, he's not a genius in the way you described him. Just taking the right oportunity at the right time, thinking he is superior compared to other people. This time you have covered a story with which I am familiar, and honestly disappointed by the factual inaccuracies and bias of the analysis. It really makes me doubt the other videos you have published as a result.
You paint Musk as a humanitarian, powerful, progressive, transparent, successful, and intelligent being (you said there is no debating his intelligence). You emphasise his track record and conveniently ignore the vast wealth he inherited that enabled him to make money in his company. You describe the so-called "Twitter blue" as amping up monetisation when it was a flagrant misunderstanding of the function of verification status (i.e., to establish a user's authenticity, not notoriety). You claim he has to fire people to emulate his other, more successful businesses. You do not explain why he had to do it so ruthlessly without providing redundancy notices. You also falsely claim that he does not ban accounts. However, this ignores that accounts impersonating Musk and journalists reporting musk had their accounts banned.

"No one has a track record like Elon Musk."
Let's look at that track record for just a moment:
Announced far distance travel via rocket that... didn't happen.
Announced on multiple occasions that Teslas are equiped with "full self driving now", which... feels like glorified cruise control.
Presented a laughably bad robot on his second AI-day
Announced that he was selling solar roof tiles "now", which... were a scam and actually ended with him in court, admitting that the houses with solar roofs were all-non functional.
Claimed he was able to build tunnels significantly faster and at a fraction of the price compared to the competition - neither of which turned out to be true.
Announced the tesla semi in 2017 with the claim that anyone preordering it at that date would get theirs in two years time - equipped with full self-driving and convoi technology - and that it would beat diesel trucks in a single truck scenario and rail in a convoi. Well, the semi is out since this year and seems to be able to carry about half of what a normal semi can carry before it hits the maximum weight allowed on roads with significantly shorter mileage and nightmarish recharging times. In fact, it is such an embarrassment that they're not even selling it.
Yes, nobody has a track record like Elon Musk. Because Elisabeth Holmes got shut down after one scam.

The analysis of the purchase of Twitter is completely wrong. You can’t take what Elon says at face value! The bots thing was a complete smoke screen; he said that publicly but said nothing of the sort in court where he’s obligated to be truthful.
Similarly, he didn’t suddenly “decide” to go through with the deal. He had no choice, because his contract obligated him to purchase the company. Delaware courts basically never allow purchasing agreements to be rescinded. He knew Twitter was going to win; don’t fall for his scam that he had any agency by that point.
Elon got pissed off at Twitter, made an impulse decision to buy the company and then was too arrogant to listen to his lawyers and signed the stupid contract he couldn’t get out of. Now he’s stuck with it, and is gutting the beast in hopes of recouping some portion of his otherwise massive personal losses from the whole fiasco.

I've loved all your previous videos and on most occasions felt even inspired after watching them, having said that, this is your worst video (of the ones I've seen).
It's very biased, ignoring the cest pool that Twitter was. Though you mention the Twitter files, you completely ignore the biased narrative that Twitter has been manipulating. Furthermore you find Kathy Griffin humour funny ??? ... holding the bloody severed head of a president. Far more people have had their accounts closed for minor hate speech inciting violence compared to her hate. You've lost me as a subscriber.

@@ruthtrentwood3374 well, Tesla for example. He’s was told would never work, yet he wanted a future with electric cars so he did it anyways. He builds these companies because he wants society to move in a certain direction, no matter the cost. He’s doing it for the people, but he is also a businessman, so he knows how to make money in the process. If he didn’t make money, he couldn’t keep making advancements. He bought Twitter because he saw that it was incredibly biased to the left, they could say anything they wanted without repercussions (some were talking about making dating minors a normal thing) meanwhile the president gets banned for calling people patriots, which twitter (pre Elon) deemed was a coded message for incitement. Elon wants Twitter to have a voice on both sides, not just the left.

Every day that I wake up and am not bombarded by news stories about someone having just killed that douche bag with their car, their .30-06 hunting rifle from a couple thousand feet away, et cetera... I am more surprised than I was the day before when it didn't happen. He is the ultimate narcissistic - and, possibly, sociopathic - mad scientist with a god complex... and he also happens to be the wealthiest person in the world. If you gave that to 100 authors, not one of them would come up with a novel in which things ended well for the human race, that was actually a believable book.
