    Thank you very much for this review! I was interested in this bag to use as a personal item but I was still on the fence so this helped me out a lot:)

    Good analytical review. I have the 40L but am trying to downsize as overhead bins get crowded and as we face ridiculous 7kg limits for the combined weight of our personal item and overhead luggage. I also noted the lack of an interior zipper pouch, which would be nice for small items I don't want to throw in either outer pouch. The zippers for the forehead pouch and flat panel on the front need to have anchor points for locks (I don't use actual locks, just grocery twist ties or tiny ziplocs, it's to discourage opportunistic pilfering not hard-core luggage pick-pockets). Or if there were dual zippers in those two positions that would work for me too. The bottle slots are ok for a 500ml single use 7-11 bottle, 32 oz nalgene bottles start to suck away volume from the bag's main compartment. Clothing (mittens, watch cap) won't easily slip out of the bottle slots, but don't put keys there, LOL! The zippers are scary tiny (narrow gauge) but since YKK let them attach a YKK "brag tag" I'm assuming YKK took a peak at their bag design and gave them a thumbs up in terms of anticipated maximum stress levels (as a side note, zippers - larger ones at least - are often a surprisngly significant weight cost in bags like these). Take care and enjoy Thailain!

      Didn't know about the YKK Brag Tag. Ya, water bottle won't be possible... Thanks for the well-thought comment.

    Seconding that I'm happy for the 28L instead of 40L version. Have you used it for everyday carry? I'm looking for something large enough for 5 day's worth of clothes (no laptop, equipment, shoes, or heavy jacket), and would prefer it over the larger 40L version if I can manage.

      I haven't used it yet for everyday carry, but I will be using it as my carry on next time. I prefer the 28L more than the 40L.

      Whether it's big enough totally depends on whether you winter or summer travel - winter clothes are most likely going to be bulky while you can get away with shorts and tee shirts in the summer in a lot of vacation destinations. It also depends on how good you are with sink-washing clothes. My stays allow enough for clothes to dry and I sinkwash daily. I would recommend starting with the 40L, you can always use the compression straps to remove unused space so stuff doesn't shift around.

      Coincidentally, I just made a video on sink washing and will post it tomorrow.

    Hi Ahmed,
    This is an excellent review.
    I can not find anything on the internet regarding the weight of the 28L bag. Tomtoc's website doesn't have the 28L version and their support doesn't respond. Could you please share the weight of the bag?
    Thank you!

      You are right! This information is not available anywhere. If the 40L is 2.9 lb, my guess is 28L should be 2.5 lb or so.

    Can you fit a 16 inch laptop in 28lt??

    • @ADawn
      @ADawn  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Probably not. My 15.5 inch feels tight, so 16 may not work.

    Sadly it's not available anymore on any amazon. Not even on tomtoc webpage.

      Amazon Canada still has it. If you are trying from other countries, it may be temporarily sold out. Hopefully it will be back soon.

    Its good for Ryanair ??

    • @ADawn
      @ADawn  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Based on my research (please check Ryanair website for updated info as I might be wrong), in inches, Ryanair's carry-on limit is one small personal bag (15.7x7.9x9.8 inches) that must fit under the seat in front of you and one 22lb bag (21.7x15.7x7.9 inches) to be stored in the overhead locker.
      Remember to double-check the weight of your carry-on bag-it should be 22lbs or less to avoid extra fees.
      The Tomtoc 28 L is 18.11X11.81X7.89 Inches 2.52 Lbs, So it's not fit for Ryanair.
