- Making an awesome old school vintage looking 3D sign of my logo using copper and old weathered barnwood. I used some simple tools and a bandsaw to build this really unique sign that will hang in my shop.

I really like the idea of raising the copper sheet letters using the ply, great idea I'm totally going to copy :)
Yea it really turned out cool!
I love how the copper and black really compliment each other and the barn wood background really adds another dimension to your finally result. Awesome build. 🤘
This looks AMAZING! You should mount it to the front of your car.
Thats a great idea
Can we get an update video on what it looks like mounted to the front of the car?
The copper worked PERFECT!
You are a wizard on that bandsaw! Great logo and project!
haha I dont know about that, just slow and steady. thanks :)
I am still trying to figure out how anyone gives any of your projects a thumbs down. You are a wonderful craftsman and a pleasure to watch.
haha. Thanks conrite. no matter what there will always be people who want to negative
Really digging the combination of black, copper, and the barn wood. Nice work!
Thanks bud, I love how it turned out too
So sweet! Utz might need one for his dog house!
I should make Utz a sign haha
That is just flipppin gorgeous man. Love mixing materials like that. The copper really pulls it all together. Exceptionally well done!!!
Thanks so much. I definitely appreciate that!
It really ties the room together, man.
Wow, simply awesome. I had avoided watching this video because I assumed it would just be watching you punch a logo into a CNC router! I am glad I did watch it, simply amazing!
OMG you are the man
been doing signs for 30 years!!
This really something to be proud of son. I can’t think of a thing you could have done any better. I love the contrast of the colors and the copper/wood combination. Great job son!
Thanks so much Becky!
I love how that turned out! I am living vicariously through you! This makes me wish I would have taken wood shop back in high school instead of band.
WOW!!! You couldn't have done it any better Chris, You Nailed It !!!!👍👍
Thanks man. I dont think I would change a thing
🔨
That sign is AWESOME!!!!!
Thank you. much appreciated!
Excellent job. The contrasting colors and materials work perfect together.
Definitely! Thank you
A lot of work. A lot of time. But when its a labor of love, you will put in the elbow. Bravo. Left coast.
Holy crap dude. Your stuff is next level. You videos are by far my most looked forward to projects right now. This sign inspired me to contact a local artist to get my own branding done.
Thanks so much Jacob, I really appreciate that man!
Looks like something I would have done back when I started in the sign business back in 1989.
Regardless takes a lot of time, patience and skill with your hands. Good Job!
Scroll saw: Excalibur if you can afford it, DeWalt if not. Clear coat on the copper or ver de gris later? Thank you for keeping with this channel. Peace.
Thanks for the scroll saw tips. I have definitely been wondering if a scroll saw would have made this easier. Ive never used one.
Turned out awesome. You nailed it with the copper look. For some reason copper has that vintage timeless look and works well with wood. Keep the videos going and make sure you put the wired German in your videos. I have a English bulldog in my that never leaves the shop. Great job!!!
Thanks for the comment I appreciate that and yes I gotta agree copper is timeless :)
Excellent job. The logo really pops and looks very vintage.
Thank you. I love the results
What a great logo. Don’t ever change a thing.
Thanks Man!
Scroll saw alternative to coping/fret saw. Use mine more than I thought I would, picked it up at an auction. Definitely going to hit up W70 and see what he can do. Enjoy the work you do, keep it rolling! And I love my third coast t-shirt...
yes I definitely thought a scroll saw would be nice
The copper was definitely the way to go! Looks awesome!
Thanks Phil!
Logo is great, I like it. Maybe a sheet of aluminum on the blade of the drawknife with "hand made" written in black could add a classy detail. I would make a test with a tin foil to see the effect, because adding a third color to the logo could end in a design too colored for the eyes, but it also could add emphasys and importance to the writing "hand made" and recall the steel of the tools, focusing a potential customer on that detail (hand made).
Absolutely love the design, with copper. Anxious to see the copper once the patina sets in. Great vids, love the dog.
Man that looked tedious! Turned out great! I think the logo matches your brand and channel.
tedious indeed, but well worth the work! I think its a good match too!
This is why I like my laser. Just design and push start and everything is cut perfectly
I’ve seen Jimmy Diresta do this 50 times, unoriginal, UNSUBSCRIBE!
Kidding of course, came out great! Love the copper and barn wood combo. I’m actually wearing your shirt as I write this. Great tip on the coping saw blade orientation, and that parallax slider shot of you filing was awesome.
YouCanMakeThisToo Hahahahahahaha!
well for one Jimmy has done everything 50 times, and two im trying to ride his curtails hahaha. I actually would have never thought to make signs if it wasnt for his videos.
I bet you are excited to try your slider out too :)
Third Coast Craftsman I am excited! Especially seeing the results you’ve been getting with it.
So totally original idea here, you should make some “Utz paws” and use those in your project to make stuff.
I thought of Jimmy's sign as well.
I think you mean "trying to ride his coattails." Curtail means something else. Nice channel, keep up the good work.
Beautiful labor of love project! When the copper ages, it’s going to pop in a completely different way!
Thanks Elaine. I did protect the copper because I like the brightness of it and dont want it to change haha
Third Coast Craftsman ;) I like shiny copper as well
Hand Crafted the old school way, thats what I'm talking about. It dont take much skill to push a button and let a computer do it all. I love old style signage. Great Job Buddy, I think I will try one for myself. Thanks for the video.
Looks Great!
Holy moly. Absolutely astonishing... ❤️ making things out of copper and the look of this is just phenomenal
Started to watch your videos and you do Awsome work.
You made it such a simple thing to add copper to the piece. You just layered it in to what you were already cutting out of plywood. That was a super effective way to make an epic sign instead of an amazing sign. Good job & great content dude thanks
I like it. I appreciate the patience it took to make it all come together. Great to see a prosperous Michigan woodworker showing his stuff. Nice. Congratulations. The best part is, YOU like it!
Sweet sign, rustic, old feeling.
definitely what I was going for :)
Every shops is so much better with a dog!
Man you saved alot of money.. a sign like that is very expensive!! Congrat!!!!
Great to see a bit of old school hand made technic, pc’s and CNC machines have speeded things up but taken all the skill and fun out of the job.
so true
Class A stuff right there. W70 is the stuff to. Great job!!!
yea he has skills!
Very, very AWESOME. Great call on using the copper. 👏👏👏
That sign is stupid gorgeous
Awesome job..
Awesome love the copper and reclaimed boards
Thanks Ian!
Always a sucker for copper, it turned out great. I think it is the perfect copper to wood to black ratio. I love the design of the logo too.
Yea Im glad I didnt use any more or less copper either. Definitely a good ratio
Yes love the way the sign turned out quite the skill you have. The dog is awesome my wife wanted to add
Utz! Great, great, great sign and work! Keep at it!
haha. thanks buddy!
Utz is a gorgeous dog! I bet he's a great friend. Thanks for sharing with us.
he's definitely a great friend
Wow wow wow 😱😱😱 Sutch an amasing peace of art !!!! You can’t do better than this you have your perfict sign i would’t change a thing , it’s timeless . Continue the great work 😎👍🏼🇨🇦
Thank you. Its going to look great hangin in the shop for years to come :)
That is excellent and I wouldn't change any of your design!
Thanks Tom!
Nothing wrong with this at all. Nicely done.
Wow!! That looks fantastic! Very sharp.
Thanks Keith
Great job! You made the right choice with the copper!
Ridiculously AWESOME!!
I like both the sign and logo. Big fan of copper and barn wood. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Luke, much appreciated man!
Spot on material choices.
Awesome looking Logo sign, great job!!!
Thanks Dale
Beautiful!!!
7:55 Awesome video work there. Great shot!
The slider is time consuming to set up but it sure looks good haha
Looks so good! Now hang it high and show it off!
Thanks and I definitely will!
Very nicely done!! love the copper and black!
Thanks Greg. I love it too!
That is an awesome sign. Well done!!!
Thanks Jerry!
The copper is nice.....Your logo is cool too.
you son will be happy that he got a talented dad
This is the 2nd video in a row, I like this one better than the last one, the Hunting Club was good one too but the copper lettering is really cool looking. I like your logo too
Wow that is nice. I didn't know what it would turn out like but I love it.
Thanks Darin. I had the same thoughts at first haha
Very cool!! The copper, old wood and black accents give it a truly vintage look. You should be very proud of tour sign.
Everything you do is gold man...err I mean, copper!
Seriously, amazing job! Love this channel.
Thanks so much dan! I always appreciate your support bud
I normally would have an opinion about what could be better... but i really don't have a lot to say about this beautiful peace of art!! Lost in words...
Beautiful sign. Since you asked, I think adding an engine turn finish to the copper lettering would be striking.
So much work! All that detail filing and sanding would have been the death of me. Great video and I much appreciate your mentioning W70. I've since reached out to him to see about some help with my own gear!
Keep up the great work!
I think you said it exactly right it is Flippin awesome!!! I love it
One of a kind sign. Thanks for sharing your work
Nice work. Love the wirehaired pointer too
Thanks Lance
Love the idea of using copper sheet metal. Way easier than other videos I’ve seen on sign making that have you melting the copper and then trying to cast molten copper in a sand mold.
Oh wow, that sounds wayyyyy more complicated haha
Genius!
Awesome - the copper looks amazing
Simply Beautiful work Chris!
Thanks man!
Perfect it! Only thing I would recommend is make the t-shirts the same. I always enjoy your work and videos get better and better👍🏼
Love the idea. The way you cut on the bandsaw was creative and opened my mind. If I was you I would have used a flush cut router bit to trim barn boards after glued to plywood. Might have just cut copper on band saw and done the same w plywood. Great project and love the look!!
Gorgeous work. Love the use of copper!!!
What an absolute smashing logo. Good job!
Looks great. I was skeptical about the copper against barnwood but it added a nice accent.
Thanks!
Man that was a lot of work. Amazing result. I'm sure someone has suggested by now that you need a Scroll Saw for that inside cutting.
I have almost used up my bottle of quick and thick. It's become my go to glue for small projects.
Im totally digging that glue!
Amazing looking sign you nailed it beautifully
Your work is awe inspiring AND inspirational. I love your work ALMOST as much as I love your dawg!
It’s really gonna look nice when the copper ages that blue green look! Great work!
I was watching some of your other videos and kept trying to see the sign in the background. Glad I found the video on it great work totally impressed. Thanks for thinking out the box with that copper
Amazing work that sign came out beautiful
That was very entertaining and very informative. The final outcome is envious to say the least. Great idea, great video and very inspirational! Thank you for posting
That looks fantastic. The video is great too.
Thanks Rob. Im pretty happy with the sign :)
That looks just gorgeous!
Thanks Rami!
It is absolutely awesome.
thanks so much
Looks awesome! Great job,Chris!
Thanks for watching Bob!
That is one bad ass sign!
DUDE! After my dad I'm super envious of your skills.
Absolutely unreal!
