- In this video, I describe how I make my broken board edge style for signs and tables. This technique could also be used to create a live edge look.

Cool bean, i just came across this video. I have beenmaking sign for awhike now out of tree i mill myself snd i love the natural look and character of reallive edge. Lately i have made several cnc files to mimick what you did with a regular board. Takes about 3 minutes for a 10x24 sign.
I love this edge style and thank you for this video
Nice work mate.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. You have the best kind of helper in the shop !
Very cool to see how much work goes into the project before the carving begins!
For sure! I like to have my edging done before carving. It is easier to adjust the carving than the edge, but that might just be my opinion. Thanks for watching!
Great Video....Thanks For Sharing😊
Impressive Steve!👍🏽

Hi David. I use the Dewalt 611 for almost all of my hand carving. I have a base plate I got from MakeAWoodSign.com.

Thanks Bill! Let me know how it goes, if you give it a try.
Loyal dog the best
I didn’t realize Oswego was right on Lake Ontario. I thought it was downstate New York or Catskills. I’m sure it’s beautiful out there. PS: the dog would like some hearing protection. 🙂✌️
...and a dust mask!
Are you still doing your edges the same way after all these years or have do them different
Are you still making videos Steve?
Hi Nick, Yes, I plan to get back to video making this fall. Is there anything you would like to see?
Woodglut has a very large project base.
I use a angle grinder and a flap disc instead of all that belt sanding
That is a good suggestion. I'll need to give that a try.
And ear muffs please
Please put a mask on Mr. Shepp
