They had to constantly use auto tune and you can tell they're doing that with Reese Witherspoon as well. I don't really like songs with a bunch of auto tune, but that's just my personal preference. However, it is shared by many.

I looked at the "Walk the Line" Special Edition DVD but it did not have a complete performance of Reese Witherspoon singing "Jukebox Blues" and that's a shame. I think the director/producers did not anticipate that Reese would make such an outstanding performance. Perhaps this is why you see it here broken up as it is because this is the only way you can see it.
I've seen the film several times in German, today I'm watching it in English for the first time, what an experience. Reese and Joaquin act so well together, sing together, the best biopic film there is, even better than the Elvis, Freddy Mercury etc. film.

If you buy the actual soundtrack (no visuals mind you) you get the songs from the movies in complete form. The actors actually cut a whole album.
