Thurman is a good actor and all that, but she is so much behind Travolta here. She is just waving around and seems tense while he is totally floating with the music. He is supposed to be a character who cannot dance and does not want to either, but he cannot hide his perfect timing and smooth movements.

Best parts of this scene: 1 - Uma telling Travolta “so dance good” and his reaction (smile) is like “babe you’ve got no clue what I can do”. 2 - Uma dancing so chaotically (but good) and Travolta dancing so smooth the whole time. Perfection.

Mia was over-confident, trying to win that trophy without too much talent, and Vincent was trying to fulfil his contract, keeping up with her but leaving her in the spotlight. And I think the two actors brought this across very well.
I know and agree wholeheartedly about Uma... Ethan Hawke is a moron for screwing around on her. Never ceases to amaze me why some guys will torpedo a marriage to someone like her for "a piece of strange".
