The only scene in this movie which I don't like is this slapping scene... I know its just a movie... but everytime I see this I feel bad for Ruby and all other wives who had to endure domestic violence 😔

Agree but I don’t think the movie is trying to glorify this culture.. if anything they are portraying the feudal male chauvinism and egoism that exists in our society extremely well .. I see this as an impactful msg to all viewers (to not be like this.. for men not to behave like this and for women to not put up with this behaviour)

@@dhiju yeah, I agree with that... movies kind of mirror our society's actions and thoughts.... and yeah , the way everyone interprets the underlying message is different.
And in the movie, this scene shows the weakness of Koshy rather than his strength (that's my opinion). Unfortunately this kind of toxic behavior exists in our society, where an obedient wife, daughter in law or even daughter is not given the value she deserves. Yes, the movie shows some darker sides of society. But, the fact that domestic violence exists in one form or another around us is disheartening.

Koshi is never meant to be a hero. He's a guy who only answers with violence, who can only act macho with people who are submissive, but among more dominating people he becomes insecure. When being dominated by someone else, he vented his frustrations on his wife. And beating his wife was realistic, domestic abuse is still prevalent and also unfortunately romanticized. I was shocked when I saw him hit her on the face, and I completely became team Ayappan. To people who think domestic abuse is normal, you should rethink about that statement twice. And people who don't like Koshi because of this, it's completely fine - Koshi is a great character, but not a good human being.

ഇതിൽ പുള്ളി നെഗറ്റീവ് കഥാപാത്രമല്ലേ ? തല്ലിപൊളിയും, ഈഗോയും കുശിമ്പും കുന്നയാമയും മനസിൽ എവിടെയോ ലേശം മനുഷ്യത്വം നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു വില്ലൻ. കോശിയുടെ കഥാപാത്രം അങ്ങനെയാണ്,പുള്ളി ഭാര്യയോട് കാണിച്ചത് ആ വില്ലത്തരത്തിന്റ് ഒരു ഭാഗമായിട്ടെ തോന്നിയുള്ളൂ. മാത്രമല്ല ആ അടിയെ ഒരുതരത്തിലും എങ്ങും ഗ്ലോറിഫൈ ചെയ്തതായി തോന്നിയില്ല,മാസ്സ് ആയി കാണിച്ചില്ല.
