It was more of a smart ass comment that for a song supposedly sung in the bathroom there was a lot of production values on their voices with echoes and distortions... It's not autotune. It's called gating and it's something that's used to give a song a 'dance' kind of vibe. It doesn't actually do anything to tune their voices, it's just an effect. The best thing to compare it to is one of those little microphone toys that make it sound like your voice is echoing.
It’s a stylistic choice. If auto tune is used to actually tune the pitch of your voice you can’t really notice it Unless you’re wayyyyy off the note not just slightly sharp or flat.

Every tourist english native speaker I've met does that, I work in an amusement park, and as I said, everyone did that to me, If I don't know how to speak in English, it doesn't matter how slow or fast you can speak. If you do that, you will make yourself look like a moron. And I did know how to speak in English obviously, not perfect, but still. Rachel’s anger in this duet still brings out really good performance chemistry between these two talented ladies. I wish I could have seen more duets from these two. They both are stars in the making and have a lot of passion for their art.

Every tourist english native speaker I've met does that, I work in an amusement park, and as I said, everyone did that to me, If I don't know how to speak in English, it doesn't matter how slow or fast you can speak. If you do that, you will make yourself look like a moron. And I did know how to speak in English obviously, not perfect, but still. The worst part it's when they do that (speaking slow) and then talk sh** of people thinking they don't understand.

This scene is why I prefer Sunshine over Rachel. Sunshine has an amazing voice, but never acted conceited of pretended she was better than anyone. Rachel's voice, even though it's just as good, isn't enough to overshadow her terrible personality. Hence, Sunshine>>>>

I definitely agree that in general, Sunshine is better than Rachel - especially in terms of kindness. But in a later episode she says something like "It's lonely at the top because I'm such a better singer than everyone else", which is rather conceited. Yes, she had a great voice, but there were at least 3 people just as good as her in the same room at the time.
