- Comparison of single stage and 2-stage electric battery powered snow blowers in wet snow. Here's two similar width blowers that use the same battery and how they fare against a few inches AND a few feet of snow. Can these battery powered snow blowers take on the gas powered ones? This comes with 6Ah li-ion battery for ample run time to clear 3000sq ft of snow. Here's an the unboxing, assembly timelapse, run down of features and specs of the PowerSmart 21in 80v Snow Blower DB2801RB. This unit is not self propelled, single stage reinforced rubber auger and has a nice LED headlight feature for blowing in the dark. Ditch the gas, oil, clogged carb, loud noise and pain of starting a gas one! But which is better for you, single or 2-stage? PowerSmart provided the products for the review.

The handle integrated with the battery is actually pretty thoughtful. These big batteries are heavy and super awkward to move… and when you share the battery between tools and charge it up every use, it’s a lot of moving.
Very true!
I purchased the 24" Power Smart snow blower in January and I also purchased an extra 80V battery. In the last 24 hrs we had a terrific snow storm which left my very long double wide driveway (which close to the house turns into a quad driveway) covered in snow. Yesterday, during the snow storm, it took both batteries to clear the snow. The storm continued until this morning and had twice as much snow as yesterday. I got about one lane open down the driveway using both batteries. I decided I needed a third battery and another charger cuz once I stop, it's hard for me to get motivated again. I see the smaller PS SB is being sold by Amazon for $481 plus change. It comes with a battery (~$300) and a charger (~$120). So if I buy it I am actually paying $62 for the snow blower as I was going to get another battery and charger anyway.
so overall the snowblower is working well though? just have a big driveway and snow storms?
@@NaterTater It's working well. The power shutting down is the main issue. Also the LED display doesn't work. Power Smart knows about both issues and working them. And yes, it's a big drive. This last snow fall has been something else. Really had to struggle with the SB. I think the snow is pretty heavy and getting a little slushy. I've got it about 2/3rds done. Batteries are charging back up right now. So that is 2/3rds done with four battery charges.
Did that yesterday
Just ordered both I’m done with gas
Thank you for another awesome video 🤪❤️🙏
Thanks for watching!
Pretty cool, but I do love our 4 cycle gasoline engines driving a 2 stage. I would imagine the battery is very expensive when in fails
That’s pretty cool
neat machines!
@@NaterTater yes they are
All I have to say is… ARIENS gas blower. chief it up. Great vid tho.
Just use the Toolcat. :D
😁
what happened to the Toolcat? no need to mess with toys 😂
Haha. I normally plow this pad but left it to demo the blowers!
@@NaterTater I get it, they sent them to you for review.. the little single stage one, looks like more work than shoveling, the way you have to force it through.. the bigger 2 stage looks good. of course the real issue with the battery operated snowthrowers is runtime, as in you wouldn’t have enough to clear than extra long driveway
@Mitchell Wolrich agree but you'd never use a wall behind blower to clear 20000 sqft of driveway so for most I think the battery life is sufficient to clear their driveway.
I don’t like this power smart brand.
