Two My favorite were the old Snapper blowers that are not made anymore. Snapper was bought out by Simplicity. I watch Craigslisr free for the old blowers. Over a year, I found three single stage blowers. This summer, I am going to try to get the three running or use one for parts for the other two. I did purchase a small Toro, but I gave it away. The controls were opposite of the controls from my existing Ariens with heated handle bars and The Big Pig 12 horse Snapper. We are the last house on a dead end.. During major storms, our street is not top priority. I open it up so an ambulance or fire truck can make it down the road.
My Ariens will make a short job of 10” of wet snow. That thing is for the places that don’t get much snow. You gave it a shot, I think Kenny would give a hilarious evaluation!🤣
What was really cool was watching the time lapse and seeing how fast the pavement was melting the little bit left over from the blower!... Once you exposed it . Pretty neat
Maybe the next time you burn skids at the Farm. You could duct tape all the safety handles down and use the electric snowblower to fan the fire? If it gets the fire roaring really well...then you could throw it on top when the battery runs out!🔥🔥 Just a suggestion...I know how you always appreciate great ideas and tips!!🤠

Chris...Great video...reminded me of my youth and shoveling snow. Growing up in NJ the neighbor across the street had a holly farm and bee hives. He had a 10hp (back when 10 hp engine was a real 10 hp at 1800 rpm and would last forever in farm duty) Gravely walk behind mower to mow the several acres of land. As kids my brother and I would make money shovelling our 12 neighbors sidewalks when it would snow. We were pissed when the guy across the street got a 30" snowblower that mounted to the front of his Gravely and he put chains on the tires. 20" snows and he would do the entire street and around parked cars and the sidewalks in about two hours! Nothing slowed it down. It was a monster!

Its got a very fast augur and impeller and throws quite well. You didnt seem to realise that you can keep the auger and drive running at the same time with one hand on all the 2 stage that I know, yet you wereusing 2 had to move the shoot and shoot angle sprout.

Lol! Love your honest review and I also love my gas consuming 14 hp Toro, it feels like you're driving a Harley. When I hit the end of driveway compacted snow, I can feel the thumping in the handle bars from each stroke of the engine.

I have a small gas powered Briggs & Stratton Snow Blower with the rubber belt, it does not do all that great in the wet heavy stuff either! Works great though in regular snow. I can do my whole blocks sidewalk in like a minute, 100 feet. Way faster than shoveling!

I had a 8 hp mtd that I bought in 1989, never had a problem and started on the first pull. General maintenance and drain the gas. Got rid of it because I bought a plow for my truck 2 years ago.
I have what I thought was my dream snowblower a Honda HSS1332ATD track drive. I found it for 1200 dollars off at ACE Hardware and only 4 hours run time on it plus 2 years left on warranty. Yes it will go through anything and throw the snow 50+ feet depending on how wet it is but the chute controls are electric and slower than dirt, the track drive is slower than wheels and the up front cost new is 3600 dollars which are some pretty big negatives. I live in Appleton like you and remember this storm. My Honda tank was throwing snow 45+ feet at least and I could run it full speed but again tracks are slower than tires. I wish I had the Toro quick chute you have. Thanks for the video!
It will be good to see you build up inventory again. Seemed like the little blower held it's own for what it is. Probably better for smaller houses and yards.
On today’s episode of “In the Snowyard” Chris dislikes electric tools! Again! LOL! Great vid. This is only my second winter using a snowblower and I love it! We don’t get much snow here SW MO. I have a small 20” 2-stroke blower that works great for driveways. But today is sunny with a high of 44* so I’m going to be cutting firewood. Stay safe and keep it up 👍
Right now today we're hitting 40 to 50 below zero with a little snow. I can only imagine what would happen to the batteries then. Yes 40 to 50 because of wind but I'm not worried I've got wood

Going for a walk once in a while is good for people, sitting is why people die early, I like to be outside and walk. So I get exercise and get work done...win win.
The battery powered blower looks like a good sidewalk machine. Also might be nice for porches and decks. The lightweight would make it nice to haul up on a deck. GNI
Chris I’ve never owned a walk behind snow blower, I own a Bercomac 40 in that goes on my 20 hp cub cadet, and I have a 62 in Kubota that goes on the front of my B2650 Kubota it’s nice to be in a heated cab . As far as that E blower goes a tree hugger would love it especially when they have to pay next months rent for a battery
Good video. As u said it's light, would possibly work ok on a big deck or where I live last winter had to shovel my roof because we had so much snow last winter. Thankfully this winter we don't have near the snow last winter. Lol would be awkward yes to get it on a roof but seen a few videos of some crazy ppl putting a small snowblower on a roof to clean it. How about the apartment owner that Home Depot used in the 90s to sell riding lawnmowers. If you remember that one, the guy drove his lawnmower downstairs to cut the grass between the street and sidewalk. Then drove it back up the stairs..🤣🤣👍
Good morning Cris I love the smell of gasoline in the morning. The only problem is I have to travel 80 miles one way to get ethanol free gasoline in New York State. It’s a real bummer. Good luck with that battery unit not much good for anything looks nice light weight not much good and heavy snow over.
The best smell was was back in the 1960's. The two cycle, rope wind, leaded gas mowing the grass in an eastern Iowa summer morning. I'd buy a bottle of that cologne .
They make some additive products that can be mixed into gas that will remove/deactivate the ethanol. I have not used them but have a friend who does small engine repair and he sells a ton of it to his customers. I have ethanol free 10 minutes away, but maybe something you could look into?👍
Off topic here but I’m waiting for your videos of you going to car lot and buying your new tundra. I’ve had a 16,18, and now 22 1794 with the AVS and I can tell you the V6 twin with the AVS pulls my dump trailer way better then my V8’s ever did. AVS is adjustable suspension and you can lower it when you load and unload. We have pulled our trailer with 5 ton of black dirt and handles it like a dream. Awesome when unloading wood to be able to drop it lower also.

Seems like this snow blowr would be a perfect fit for the home owner.. in your case, it just seems like you would kill it doing the whole lot at once.. However, with battery technology and equipment getting better every year, it will eventually get to where you can use it more than the homeowner ..
Some day I'll find a blower in a yard sale. Always have wondered how it would handle water logged, corse sawdust. Figure it could beat it hard, so no interest in getting a new one for an experiment. . The electric one was cinda, like flipping thru a checklist manual for starting up an airplane. LOL

@@InTheWoodyard getting stuff fresh out of the box is rarely a happy experience. My 66 y.o. mind would automatically think that it was me that was doing something wrong. There might be a Tech line phone # you can call..
Pressing the start button all the time seems annoying. Reverse on any snowblower is almost always too slow. At least the snowblower is quiet. Definitely annoying with all those "safety" features. But shutting the auger off in reverse saves on the battery. Anyway, hope you figure it out and operation of it goes more smoothly. Been thinking of getting a battery one, but if is as annoying to use as this one seems to be, I'm sticking to gas.
I watched a video on gas a while back. The engines run hotter on premium, the explosions inside the engine are greater, which may not be good for some engines. I run premium in all mine too, big and small.
As far as your chainsaw bogging down it could be your air filter or gas filter or it could be dirt in your carburetor on your screen or your carburetor seals might need be changed because they could be dry and cracking.
From the video it looks like you did the”man or Chris thing”and didn’t read the directions. But you got it running which is the main thing! Keep blowin former besty!👍TCT

I bought a generator a few months ago which died within 50 hours Bought another same place differant brand Went to do the first oil change after 10 hours and it was mostly empty it had used it all I'm still using it and will take it back once the sun comes back (I live off-grid) but every tank I put through it it must use half a sump of oil too
I am gas all the way on machinery of any kind. By the time you get done blower snow with the electric blower, winter will be over 🤣🤣🤣🤣. You gave it a fair shot with its 5 mins of shame, better switch over to the gas before you because a frozen lawn ornament.
These little battery snowblowers are equal to 5hp gas engine. The snowblower slows itself down as an automatic "self preservation" feature to keep the motor from being overworked. The gas engines start bogging and we manually slow down. This just does it automatically. Definitely annoying with the lack of power.
Chris I like the irony of the guy wearing a Brute Force hat walking past his Toro Power Max that would be well suited to the job in favor of a weak sauce electric snow blower that has one battery that doesn’t work 😂. You and Kenny have a well documented distaste for weenie saws… how about weenie snow blowers??😢
Chris it looks like in order to save the world from gasoline you have to accept the future of electric. Slow and shuts off immediately to save battery life.
Hi Chris!!😀😀 I have been waiting for you to demo the battery blower. I'm considering getting one for Linda to use so she won't have to worry about putting gas in it and then trying to get it started. It seemed to do pretty good considering how wet and nasty the snow was. It definitely isn't as strong as a gas one. But I thought it did okay. Any idea how much that model costs?? Skid shoes. You gotta adjust the skid shoes. Seems aggravating. I think I’ll keep using a shovel in the small areas and the Deere 317 skid steer with 96 inch bucket in the big areas

I think that the electric snowblower would best suit tree huggers that are too lazy to use a shovel. Seems that all of the safety and power saving features make using it a pain in the neck. I'll stick with a real (gas powered) snow blower.

The hand tools are great! Not so much anything that needs real power, run time and quick refueling, which is almost everything else...so far.

AVS is adjustable suspension and you can lower it when you load and unload. We have pulled our trailer with 5 ton of black dirt and handles it like a dream. Awesome when unloading wood to be able to drop it lower also.
Do you use a load equalizing hitch receiver when towing over 3,000 pounds?

Seems like this snow blowr would be a perfect fit for the home owner.. in your case, it just seems like you would kill it doing the whole lot at once..
However, with battery technology and equipment getting better every year, it will eventually get to where you can use it more than the homeowner ..

Pressing the start button all the time seems annoying. Reverse on any snowblower is almost always too slow. At least the snowblower is quiet. Definitely annoying with all those "safety" features. But shutting the auger off in reverse saves on the battery. Anyway, hope you figure it out and operation of it goes more smoothly. Been thinking of getting a battery one, but if is as annoying to use as this one seems to be, I'm sticking to gas.

I watched a video on gas a while back. The engines run hotter on premium, the explosions inside the engine are greater, which may not be good for some engines. I run premium in all mine too, big and small.

As far as your chainsaw bogging down it could be your air filter or gas filter or it could be dirt in your carburetor on your screen or your carburetor seals might need be changed because they could be dry and cracking.
Screen on the Exhaust too.
It was an internal fuel filter, all fixed now!

Went to do the first oil change after 10 hours and it was mostly empty it had used it all
I'm still using it and will take it back once the sun comes back (I live off-grid) but every tank I put through it it must use half a sump of oil too

I am gas all the way on machinery of any kind. By the time you get done blower snow with the electric blower, winter will be over 🤣🤣🤣🤣. You gave it a fair shot with its 5 mins of shame, better switch over to the gas before you because a frozen lawn ornament.

These little battery snowblowers are equal to 5hp gas engine. The snowblower slows itself down as an automatic "self preservation" feature to keep the motor from being overworked. The gas engines start bogging and we manually slow down. This just does it automatically. Definitely annoying with the lack of power.

I have been waiting for you to demo the battery blower. I'm considering getting one for Linda to use so she won't have to worry about putting gas in it and then trying to get it started. It seemed to do pretty good considering how wet and nasty the snow was. It definitely isn't as strong as a gas one. But I thought it did okay. Any idea how much that model costs??
