  • Biloxi is a Mississippi city on the Gulf of Mexico. It's known for its casinos. Biloxi Lighthouse stands next to Biloxi Beach on the Mississippi Sound. The Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum offers exhibits on boatbuilding and seafood-processing. The Beauvoir estate and Jefferson Davis Presidential Library explore the life of the Confederate leader. Offshore, Deer Island shelters pelicans and loggerhead turtles.

It's my hometown and I can also say the food from local restaurants is a lot better than you'll find in Las Vegas. Tne Ms. Coast cuisine is basically the same as New Orleans

And it’s actually cheaper than New Orleans!

Biloxi must be a clean but small town. Without the casinos & the beach it'd be a country town.
How hot does it get Mississippi? As hot as Texas & Florida?

I lost a total of 2 grand on the Mississippi Coast this month, but I was actually okay with it. I rather they get my money than Las Vegas! After Katrina, they deserve every bit of money coming their way!

I don’t know if anyone noticed the traffic is nothing like Vegas. Parking is free everywhere. The food is excellent and lower cost than those Vegas joints

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is actually the 2nd largest gambling area in USA behind Las Vegas with 15 casinos and more on the way. Fun watching you drive by casinos where people I know work. Biloxi is my hometown! The small houses that look all poor and run down sell for like $275,000 - $1,000,000. Biloxi is not a cheap place to live. Yes you can rent a house for like $5,000 a month probably. Or if you move here a nice 2 bedroom apartment is like $1,500 a month. Biloxi also stretched north of the Back Bay.

The Harrah's casino is what is left of the grad casino which Katrina destroyed in 2005. The main part was on the beach side and was a Casino that ranked with Beau Rivage casino. The section that you went by on Howard Ave (brick road) is where the old Barq's root beer building use to be and where the blues club "Ground Zero" and is co-owned by Morgan Freeman. when you go to Biloxi, you need to research the old Biloxi history, Biloxi once was a place filled with shrimp factory's like DeJean's (My wife worked there when she was 19 years old) and was located on the beach side of Hwy 90, across from St. Michael's church that had a roof like a big shell.

You aren't going to surf in the Gulf unless there is a hurricane out there. The Gulf is generally like a huge lake. It would be cool if there was waves on the Gulf.

Once you get away from the cleaned up tourist areas you will find extreme poverty everywhere. It has one of the highest infant mortality rates, highest crime rates, and some of the least educated people in the country. This video has little to do with the reality that is Mississippi, the state slave owners sold their most difficult and dangerous slaves as punishment. Enjoy your vacation from reality.
