Welcome back. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! You may want to check out Shambles(MV). Akane(Ah-Kha-Nay) goes all out King Kong Mode and gives her kit a real thrashing.
It was a 3h40min intense concert. The quality they can maintain for this long is impressive. Akane is a beast, among the very best you can find on this planet, but it can take a while to really understand how good she is. Like other members of this band she plays for the song, not to show off. This solo was a rare thing.
Lots of people can play what Akane plays... with enough practice. But most people can't write what Akane plays. Her technique is great but it's her creativity and musicality that put her in the top tier of drummers. When you realize that she's constantly changing patterns and packing in tasty fills and transitions, but she's doing it in a way that adds to the song, and she's doing that in almost every song, you start to realize what a monster she is. Plenty of good suggestions in the comments, I don't really need to add anything, but I'll say she went extra ham for most of the Unseen World album.
@@chrisbergsten1429I’ve always said the same thing about Kanami. Usually I see comments about how they can play her stuff, and I’m like “yeah, but you didn’t, did you? You didn’t compose those riffs, solos, whole songs. You copied them in your basement!” I value the compositions the Maids come up with more than their individual skills, which are still pretty high-level anyway.
No worries mate we all are busy, but I do agree you NEED more Band Maid in your life. Great reaction nice insights for us non-musicians. We do NOT get mad when you stop you are ADDING to our enjoyment. Please keep it up

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed this performance at Yokohama Arena on Nov.26 last year. One of the seven wonders of Band-Maid is "How can Akane do that intricate, fast, ,powerful but partially delicate drum solo creating dynamic undulation by laughing with her mouth wide open ? (It's not just a smile)" 😄
When she studied at a music school, she studied the piano, guitar, played the trumpet, but did not stay anywhere for a long time. In the end, the teacher got tired of her, he took her to the drums and said: "You haven't tried this yet." She tried it and stayed. ))
That was before she went to the music school. But she was a pro DJ for a while juggling mochi to cheese (the band where she met Kanami), Band-Maid at the same time...if I remember correctly. I remember there was a video of her playing in a jazz band, keeping the rhythm looking so bored. Band-Maid is her dream band for sure! 😂
From the record BL of this concert Akane says that when the band required double pedals for a rock song, she couldn't use them properly, and she wondered if she should be in this band. However, she continued to practice desperately, not wanting to part with the members. Now, he is an indispensable drummer for the band, playing 220bpm songs with a smile.
Wow! That makes her so much more of a LEGEND because the way she plays you would think she has always played a double pedal! Thanks for sharing! So cool!
Glad you recognised Akane. Band-Maid are my top band and every member is at the top of their game. Her rhythm section bass buddy MISA is also a genius.
I'm glad you pulled up this drum solo by Akane (Ah-Kahn- Neh). She is an amazing rock drummer (and the happiest one, as well). She is so damned much fun to watch live. Keep reacting to we Maidiac's favorite band in the world, you will get a lot more viewers (and subscribers). The safest thing to do is to go to the official Band-Maid TH-cam channel and react to one of the videos posted on it. These petite young Japanese females are the real rock deal. In my opinion Akane and MISA are the most intuitively brilliant "rhythm section" in rock. "Freedom", the official live video also has a great drum solo by Akane. It's on their officlalTH-cam channel.
Awesome! Really have to check out their official page and start digging into more! She is unreal on the kit and as you said, so much fun to watch! Can’t wait to hear more from her and the rest of the band!
Akane(you got it right the first time) is an arena drummer(like a Bonham), she was made for it, it is who she is and she is right up there with the best arena drummers.
'Fredom' LIVE has a drum solo in it. And yes, I am a musician. And BAND-MAID are Musician's Musicians. You may have noticed in 'Domination' LIVE the band gathering around the drum kit to make funny faces at her to make her laugh and f*ck up the hard part. Ha! Not a chance! She is Akane "The Beast" Hirose. Half Gorilla & Half Drum Machine. The only time she's messed up was she was playing so hard her I-Ears became unplugged and couldn't hear the backing tracks, so she missed the cue to start the next song and everyone started without her. It was very funny!
If you want to see her exhibiting egoless ensemble perfection, check out Don’t You Tell Me. The MV is about eight years old and amazing enough, but the Live, also from Yokohama, is jaw dropping. Subtle perfection during the solo(s) section and her transition back to the main song is a magic trick.
In addition to having great chops she is also notorious for never repeating patterns. Even when she's not doing anything fast and she's just playing along in the Sun and you'll often know that she is constantly changing everything. Must be impossible to memorize that stuff play in case would be the song Dice or Alone. They are both mid-tempo rock songs but if you listen hard you'll notice all kinds of creative accenting. These are not barnburners but show offer creativity in a more subtle way
So cool! That’s wild that she never repeats a pattern especially with natural tendencies we all have as musicians! Can’t wait to hear more from her and the band! Thanks for the info!
With her IEM's, she was making a joke. There had been some comments that she couldn't play in time without the click track. So she teased with her in ears. While smiling as big as the arena.
@@setonhillstudios there is a running joke among many Japanese drummers that they don't know how to count. Akane has played that up a few times in the past.
Hello from England. Great reaction young man. I've said this before but I've only ever seen one other drummer that plays with Akane's power and passion. He plays with a band called Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Check him out and you'll see what I mean. Freedom (live) should be your next stop. Then Manners / Black Hole (live). A few of their songs are really, really good. The rest are absolutely phenomenal.
You should watch "Freedom" (official live video) -- this is MANDATORY for all drummers watching Band-Maid! It features a good drum solo. It comes from the same concert as "Domination" (live). You should also watch "Manners"/"Black Hole" (double feature video). Not only does "Manners" start with drums, turning into a drum and bass lead-in, but the other song "Black Hole" -- their most manic prog rock song -- hits 220 bpm. Poor Akane could not play it at first, but she practised until she nailed it.
You really need to see FREEDOM live for a drum solo. You also really need HATE? live from Yokohama Arena too and although there is no drum solo you can hear her thundering away in the background.
I can't read, write, or play any mudic but I am a lyricist. I once asked a drummer friend of mine (Johnny Dee of Britny Fox and Doro) how he came up with his drum solos because it really intrigued me. To this day his answer confuses me. He told me that he comes up with his solos the same way I come up with and write my lyrics. But I'm coming up with words in the English language that piece together to form ideas and sentences. He's coming up with sounds. If i knew music maybe I'd understand but I have no clue what he meant.
Such a cool conversation and thanks for sharing. The way I look at it is probably similar to language in some ways. Not to get too wordy but each part of the drum kit has a different sound source that says something, sets a mood, or expresses a concept. The floor toms and bass drums have those low frequencies that can produce power while the snare and cymbals can articulate and cut. Then dynamically how soft or hard you play tells a story along with the tempo of how slow or fast you play. Definitely multiple ways to think about it but this was an amazing solo from a crazy talented drummer! Thanks for watching!
Akane is awesome in any song, but for me it's Giovanni and Balance where Akane's drum shines. Her use of multiple rhythmic patterns in their songs elevates the music to the next level! BTW this particular solo leads to Blackhole, which highlights her speed but she never does straight blast beats throughout the song, you can still hear the groove. I'm not a musician but I was in a brass band club like Akane did for 6 years and played piano as in my teenage years. I didn't find my right instrument though 😅😂
I don't comment much on TH-cam videos but just wanted to say awesome and fun reaction. \m/ \m/ I've been subbed and enjoying your reactions since your first Band-Maid one... about six months ago... when you did "Domination." That on those Nemophila reactions. \m/ \m/ You shouldn't have to worry about copyright issues with Band-Maid. Somebody in the comments probably already beat me to these suggestions, but for a tasty Akane drum solo within song, I'd recommend "Freedom," the official live video from their "WORLD DOMINATION TOUR"... same concert from where you watched and reacted to "Domination" BTW... on the band's TH-cam channel - th-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kAZOFcHSWh0VzFBL For some dirty, gritty groove, I'd go with "Manners" from the "The Day of Maid" for J-LOD LIVE2. The official live video, also on the band's TH-cam channel, is actually a two-fer with "Manners" followed "Black Hole," th-cam.com/video/iaf94nNSRGE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YU9TyQUtRhlRV2W- , which is a pretty good example of how the band can change up styles but still be the fun heck-of-a good time rock band that is Band-Maid. Akane and Misa just go ham on "Black Hole," as does Kanami, Miku, and Misa. The whole video is 7 minutes and 41 seconds; so, I don't know if that is too long for you to do in one reaction or if you would have to break it up. Band-Maid has some really kicking instrumentals like "From Now On" and "Onset" as well "Don’t Be Long." You really cannot go wrong with any of their songs in their discography in my opinion, but I may be a wee bit biased, LOL.
Really appreciate the kind words and it’s always nice to hear when people are enjoying the content! Thanks so much for the suggestions and hanging out with us each day! They are truly an incredible band and this solo was nothing short of amazing! Can’t wait to dig into more of their stuff in the near future! Just an incredibly talented group of musicians! 🔥
React to HATE? Her drunming is amazing and relentless under a bass/guitar duel. She is a star among stars! It is an official live MV so it's all good ○ BTW the lyrics are funny as hell. The poor bastard!
Ok.... I scrolled back and found the "Domination" reaction you did "6 months ago". Yo... you luv Band-Maid; we know it too. Time to start your Band-Maid pigeon (rabbit) hole. Us Maidiac's guarantee you will be hooked immediately! Next song: "Real Existence" mv "Onset" official live video "Rinne" mv "From Now On" mv "Hate?" official live video ...that should get you started. Band-Maid, the best rock band on Earth!
Here's an astounding drum solo. The long version of Santana's Soul Sacrifice at Woodstock '69. Their first album was due for release 2 weeks later and nobody really knew who they were but they left with over 400,000 new fans that day! The drummer Michael Shrieve had just turned 20. He was looking for somebody to jam with and none of his friends wanted to so he went by himself. Carlos Santana jammed with him and hired him then. The keyboardist, Greg Rollie went on to form Journey later. They were scheduled to play that night so when Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead offered them some drugs, they took them. Then they got called up wayyy ahead of schedule. Amazing performance!! th-cam.com/video/sSp05euvRNU/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUYc291bCBzYWNyaWZpY2Ugd29vZHN0b2Nr
Michael is listed in Rolling Stone's list of the 100 most influential drummers. Carlos credited him for bringing some Latin and Jazz flavor to the band.
Akane's real superpower are killer fills. Solos she's ok. Oh and Band-Maid doesn't copyright reactions for their oficial release content on TH-cam. This clip is not official released and it could actually be blocked or something. 😅
I will be surprised if this doesn't get a copyright infringement strike. Stick to official video from the Band-Maid TH-cam channel and you should be ok as the band (especially Akane) has been known to watch and enjoy reactions to their songs. There is a drum Solo on the official live video of Freedom. Some other song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, and Rinne which all have some serious double kick bass drum patterns. Also check out Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, Endless Story, and both versions (live and video) of Don't You Tell Me. They have a catalog of over one hundred great songs. If you are not fond of one then choose another because it will be much different than the one before it and the next one to follow. Have fun with it!

You shouldn't have to worry about copyright issues with Band-Maid.
Somebody in the comments probably already beat me to these suggestions, but for a tasty Akane drum solo within song, I'd recommend "Freedom," the official live video from their "WORLD DOMINATION TOUR"... same concert from where you watched and reacted to "Domination" BTW... on the band's TH-cam channel - th-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kAZOFcHSWh0VzFBL
For some dirty, gritty groove, I'd go with "Manners" from the "The Day of Maid" for J-LOD LIVE2.
Band-Maid has some really kicking instrumentals like "From Now On" and "Onset" as well "Don’t Be Long."
You really cannot go wrong with any of their songs in their discography in my opinion, but I may be a wee bit biased, LOL.
Next song:
"Real Existence" mv
"Onset" official live video
"Rinne" mv
"From Now On" mv
"Hate?" official live video
...that should get you started.
Band-Maid, the best rock band on Earth!
Thanks so much for the recommendations! Definitely have to get on it! So many great tunes to discover! 🤘🏻
What a wild story! 🤣 Definitely have to check this out! Thanks for the link!
It would be normal to think that the song after the solo is lighter to let her rest, but no, it is the fastest song in their catalog, 220bpm.
Shewee! 😳 Her technique is so good that she probably wasn’t too worn down! Such a phenomenal player!
Jimmy page love Akane style of drumming
I can see why! She is phenomenal! Such a BEAST! 🔥
Akane's real superpower are killer fills. Solos she's ok.
Oh and Band-Maid doesn't copyright reactions for their oficial release content on TH-cam.
This clip is not official released and it could actually be blocked or something. 😅
Gotcha….thanks for the heads up. Will definitely look into more of their tunes. Have a great one!
Try the song Rinne by Band-Maid.
Awesome! Appreciate it! 😄
Satan kicked Akane out of hell because she was TOO DAMN LOUD 🤘
🤣😂🤣
Thanks for the suggestions and swinging by! Can’t wait to check out more from them! She slayed this solo! 🤘🏻
react sense akane fucos ...sense instrumental akane fucos it's on TH-cam uploaded by a fan
Buddy rich reincarnate
Imagine how good this is without the pointless interruptions...
We ain’t for everyone so feel free to keep it moving ✌🏻
IMO - best current drummer. With The Warning's Pau a close 2nd
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Dice, Manners, Bubble & Blooming
She is incredible for sure! Appreciate the suggestions! Have a great one!
CHeck out no god mate
Thanks so much! 😄
1/2 of the best rhythm section in rock...MISA is the other half.
