I just realized that it's that easy to steal my truck. I'll have to address this issue. Great video, for some reason I thought you were changing the key set. All good.
I have a 1989 pickup Tacoma. Turns on but I always have trouble restarting it back up after I drive or leave it on to warm up. And sometimes it will just die on me normal driving. Basically keeps turning off. Any clue? Battery is brand new.
Are you pushing the black button down and turning the key all the way to lock? Most of these old second gen trucks have the ignition worn out and you can basically pull the key out with it running.
AND thats why I have a hidden kill switch.....You can steal these trucks by taking out 7 screws and bypass the lock and work the switch...Like the dash paint...what is it??
I have learned more about my truck in this 5 minute video then I have in 6 weeks of driving it I thank you
Of course, glad it helps!
My 87 is my daily driver so most of my videos will feature it.

Yes theft is very common on these, a coil kill switch is a good idea.
Also the reason I have a detachable steering wheel on mine.

Thanks it's just some spray texture paint I got from the auto parts store. I believe dulpi color makes it.
What kind of removable steering wheel setup is that? Can you post a link or something........ Thnx
It's a "flashpower" brand short hub and generic quick release both off Amazon. If there's enough interest I'll make a video on it.
🙋🏾♂️ I would like to see a video on the steering wheel disconnect
@@dirtytaco2005 I will be doing I walk around video of my truck in all its mods in the near future.
