Shaq’s undercover visit is a great reminder that good service starts with treating every guest kindly, no matter who they are. Glad he used this moment to improve and recognize those who care.
@JusticeDiary9 Keep the story short and simple. Big Shaq wanted to eat at his restaurant one morning, which he did, when he arrived nobody recognised him. Big Shaq was wearing plain clothes and a baseball cap. Big Shaq waiting for an hour to be served, he saw one of the cooking staff walked by his table and said nothing and just looking at Shaq. Soon after that had happened Big Shaq was approached by a waiter and Shaq spoke to the waiter, the waiter was very rude to Big Shaq. Then a lovely waitress approached Shaq with admiration and respect, including to provide Big Shaq with an jug of water and a glass too. Soon after that happened Big Shaq walked out of the restaurant, thinking this is not right been treated rudely by that particular waiter. The next day Big Shaq called the restaurant and spoke to the Management staff wanting to arrange an meeting with all the staff that was working yesterday. So the meeting went forward after Shaq arrived to the restaurant. Big Shaq spoke with the waiter wanting to know why is his reasoning behind the rudeness. The waiter's explanation is he had a bad morning. The waiter promised not to do it again. The next time Big Shaq entered the restaurant the waiter kept his promise.
Big Shaq wanted to eat at his particular restaurant. He walked into this restaurant dressed up plainly with long blue jeans and a tee shirt with an baseball cap. Shaq had a full beard and nobody recognised him. Big Shaq sat at an table in a cubicle.
This story is wild! Goes to show how important it is to treat everyone with respect, no matter who you think they are. Big Shaq definitely earned my respect for how he dealt with it.
After spending all of my working life in retail most of my years on the management side of retail. I finally learned that the smallest things made the biggest impact. And it doesn't cost you anything to just be Nice to people.
Has anyone else experienced a similar situation where poor service left a lasting impression? It's important to address these issues for better experiences.
There's so much crap out there about people that are famous own a restaurant and got all kinds of troubles and problems and whatever it's just crap . I only watch these because I'm bored And just looking for something to do So I play around and look at a few of these things and just laugh It's really so scripted it's a joke
I totally get where you're coming from! It must have been tough for Shaq to stay hidden, but the main message about improving service is still really important.
Sometimes celebrity entrepreneurs have to realize that many times, it's the people they put in charge that allow lower level employees to be negligent. They sometimes are intent on making owners look bad on purpose. Often, due to jealousy and envy.
leadership is key to fostering a positive environment. Ensuring that those in charge lead by example can help mitigate negativity and promote a respectful workplace.
That’s messed up. This is reality. This is way people are treated in life. You never know who you’re up against and don’t forget it one day. You might be worse off in your own shoes to treat people with kindness and love and respect cause you could have everything, a problem of your hand and the next day everything thing from you and you could be on this street don’t forget it.
