The most striking thing about how Gordon Murray creates a car is that he mostly applies new technology into building and designing the car, rather than into the car itself. By which I mean the tech is about improving the fundamentals like low weight, chassis rigidity, engine sound -- it's not about throwing in techy features that are either irrelevant or anathema to the driving experience. The one arguable exception is the fan on the T.50, but even that has a method behind the madness because it allowed him to make just enough downforce to forgo a bunch of ugly aero, yet not so much downforce that the car would be uncomfortably sprung.
Fantastic point made there . He will use the latest pots and pans when creating his perfect dish , but will never _ever_ be caught serving 'impossible' meat or soybean meat substitutes . Heh . The human zeitgeist does tend to go mad every once in a while with whatever the latest trend or fashion happens to be but always swings back into reality eventually . No doubt in the future we will be driving incredible hydrogen fuel cell powered V-12 works of engineering art with electric motor assist but only once technology has progressed enough to make sense to do so .. Unlike today . Today it is wasteful , at times even dangerous but _always_ mostly for fashion no different than wearing some enviro greeny logo on a T-Shirt .

Well Gordon says his standard for the best riding and handling cars were the Lotus Evora and the Alpine A110. The Evora and now the Emira are bargain supercars in every way. The Alpine is good too but it's a 4-cylinder.
Yes… and it wouldnt have an 11000 rpm 600 hp v12, also the lotus emira for 80k weighs 1000lbs more with a lighter v6 engine, thats why it costs millions.
Absolutely love how you asked about the price, and why we can't see the engine, and why it doesn't have active damping etc, as these are all questions that the sensible buyer would be asking! And answered with such class from Gordon. What a car.
The big problem I see is going full drivers focus and then making limited production $1milion+ cars that wont get driven outside of his and the press cars. like he said they need to team up with an automaker to team up with an automaker to get an actual production car going. I would love to say Alfa Romeo since they dont have a sports car atm but Ferrari would say no. Maybe Jaguar would be a good option since the F type is getting old

Spyder looks absolutely stunning, wasn't convinced fully on the coupe but one of these is now a contender on the dream car list
Always a joy to hear what Gordon is saying and thinking! The new car is simply gorgeous.
I actually like how it looks a bit stealthy. The car looks like something Lotus might have made, and might cost $120-150k... as opposed to millions.
Well Gordon says his standard for the best riding and handling cars were the Lotus Evora and the Alpine A110. The Evora and now the Emira are bargain supercars in every way. The Alpine is good too but it's a 4-cylinder.
Yes Lotus....
Yes… and it wouldnt have an 11000 rpm 600 hp v12, also the lotus emira for 80k weighs 1000lbs more with a lighter v6 engine, thats why it costs millions.
Think you'll find his Lotus Elan from the 1960s left a very lasting impression on him
Gordon needs the big ticket price to cover his start up expenses. And like many things these days, the higher the price the higher the demand.
Absolutely love how you asked about the price, and why we can't see the engine, and why it doesn't have active damping etc, as these are all questions that the sensible buyer would be asking! And answered with such class from Gordon. What a car.
The T33 has the happiest looking front end of any car I've seen.
🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
Gordon is a God. No other words.
Maybe Jaguar would be a good option since the F type is getting old
This kind of legislation will just lead to driving becoming more and more of a luxury and not something the average person can even enjoy. Different rules for those wealthy and those not; as usual.
I don't "LIKE" videos often, but this is pure exotic car loveliness!
I would love to hear about the finances behind setting this sort of operation up!
7:19 how i understand you mr. Murray. Almost all of them has the headrest out of place and of center 👌👍
Gordon's compliments on the Alpine A110 may give some hope to buy a good driver car for people with noninsane amount of money.
Great video Harry, and I never tire of Gordon, a very clever man but at the same time he is very humble
Not too keen on open top motoring but I'd go fora T33 over a T50 I think. Still get that incredible Cosworth engine.
Well the T33 is available as a coupe, so no compromises needed.
@@pirkkaruuska5766 is it, or all sold out already ?
@@pirkkaruuska5766 oh, absolutely. I've seen the coupe. I think without the fan it's a prettier car.
@@Outland9000 the fan is plain ugly to me, this is elegant, pleasant to look at.
