      But he blamed Victoria Principal for his drug problems. From what Barry and his other brothers said, he had the problem before her. But I suppose he was trying to rebuild his career and he could not admit his own addiction. A bad sign. And we now know he was still using even after this. His life style took its toll. So sad. He seemed like such a sweet and talented young man. I wish he had lived and found another woman to love, marry and have a family with. Life is good.

    He had the empath personality. A very intense person. When they fall in love they love deeper and when it’s over they suffer deeper. I believe he was far more into Victoria than she was into him. A fling for her, genuine love on his part. An empath will need a much longer period of time, years to get over someone they’ve loved and lost to a point where they can live more balanced. Relief for awhile here and there comes from drugs alcohol whatever will give you a break. Then you have another battle to fight. Your trying to survive and keep functioning in the world on a daily basis the best you can. It’s really a good idea to study the empath personality and get to know it. Helps with understanding.
    Andy is with Gentle Jesus now.

      SO tired of everyone now being an "empath." Andy's brothers and parents have said that he struggled with not just low self-esteem but also with mental issues. I'll take THEIR word for it. Barry has said, on camera, that though he was a 30-year-old man, he acted as though he was age 16, and could not accept responsibility, manage people around him, or move past the bumps and bruises inherent in his industry.

    It was obvious in this interview that Andy was still hurting emotionally from everything he'd been through--his drug addiction, his break-up, his no-shows, etc. I'd heard that his relationship with Victoria was somewhat of an eyebrow-raiser, possibly because of the age difference and that he was considerably younger than her(consider this was the 1980s). In his "Behind the Music" documentary, Victoria had said something to the effect how when she'd seen this interview--particularly when Andy said, "I'd thought about the girl"--she'd felt put in an uncomfortable situation, not knowing what to do nor how to respond but finally decided to remain silent. Additionally, Victoria mentioned about giving Andy an ultimatum about "to choose me or to choose drugs...and he chose drugs." Although I can understand about people needing their personal space and their well-being, many don't realize that addiction is an illnesss, not a concious choice. I still remember where I was when I learned about Andy's death: I was spending my last year of high school in a dormitory. I'd received a phone call from my mother and at one point during our conversation, she said, "You know Andy Gibb died." I was stunned. I couldn't fathom that someone so talented and seemingly with a sweet personality would die so young...rest in peace Andy.

    • @SenorZorrozzz
      @SenorZorrozzz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GlamGal 710 you couldn’t fathom. Yeah. He like getting high and hanging with his drug pals. It’s a scene, a subculture. I don’t buy the idea that it’s an illness. He chose the drugs over her and e everything else. The cocaine made him lose his voice, that’s typical! His losing his girlfriend and true friends etc. that’s typical. His not showing up for work, that’s all typical of what drug addicts do. They like getting high. It’s funny to them. Those who tell them not to; they I don’t wanna hear it, they avoid those. When people show up and point out that the drug addict is losing everything in their lives, their marriage, their business, the children have been taken away, they just lost their house in their car and they’re scrambling to continue to exist somehow, they don’t want to hear it. They just want to know when they’re going to get their next drug so they can get high. You can think this is an illness that they’re sick well they are physically sick and they are addicted but they want to be. They want to keep this going and they won’t listen to anybody very few do. Basically, they’re just really self-centered selfish people who want to get high like it and don’t want to pay attention to any one or anything else. So people like you look at them and say well they must have an illness they must be sick poor person but look at all those people that are living in the street in Los Angeles those people that live at skid Row. Do you ever talk to any of them? Do you ever seen him interviewed on TH-cam? They leave and laugh. Yeah they lost her home still living in the street I have to steal for a living and defecating and urinating right near where they’re laying on cardboard in the street, but when they asked about giving up the drugs that either get mad and walk away they’ll tell you But you can talk to them but don’t mention giving up the drugs, or they’ll tell you honestly that they like taking the drugs and sometimes a smile and a laugh not tired but it’s the greatest feeling ever had they really enjoying it. They would like you to get a place to stay they would like you to pay for food for them sure they would like you to buy them new needles they would like you to buy the condoms yeah, they would like you to subsidize their lives, to give the money. Their relatives did all of that got sick of it or they want Brooke doing it. You got to understand there are people who like doing this. They just want to do it and they don’t care. Those people should come crashing down at some point maybe early on without Everybody babying them and helping them. Maybe they should lose everything quickly so that people could confront them about it. But again you know if there are just some people who like the fact that it makes him feel good. It’s the same thing with alcohol I’ve done so many alcoholics. I’m not so many people they just like drinking and they’re gonna drink and they’re going to hang out with other people who are drinking and they got a laugh and they’re not gonna be responsible and they end up alcoholics. And that’s the way they want it you can’t change them. It’s disgusting but be glad that you’re not like that. The way not to end up a drug addict or an alcoholic is never to start it to begin with! If you don’t start it then you’re not part of the group.

      My thoughts are the same. It has to be hard living your life wide open for the whole public to see and hear. He might've had no choice and his publicist and team and he agreed that if he didn't tell is story others would do it for him - the tabloids - and they already were and had. So who knows. But it's all still such a bummer everything he went through and then having to address it publicly. And then of course his leaving this world too soon and the way he did. I think all his fans see these interviews and old videos and wish they could go back in time and get him the help and support system and information he needed to prevent what was coming. Just wish his fate could've been avoided somehow.

    This interview would have been extremely hard for Andy. To think this would only have been a short time after
    his breakup with Victoria, yet, you can see how fragile he still is. One can only wonder how Andy would have felt when he found
    out not only how quickly Victoria had moved on, but ended up marrying that same man.
    Someone made a comment on another clip about Andy wanting a similar life to Barry, and I believe that is a true assessment
    of how Andy would have felt. According to his Personal Assistant, Scott Sands, Andy seemed to want to settle down, and seeing
    his feelings for Victoria and the way he spoke of her, you get the impression he fell so deeply in love with her, that when she left, he
    thought his life wasn't worth living.
    Of all the relationships he had after Victoria, those women who gave interviews about their relationship all said similar things - when Andy
    spoke of Victoria and how she treated him, their views were not complimentary. If those views are accurate, it is sad to see how badly
    their relationship went South.
    On the other hand, I have seen interviews and articles about Victoria since she left Andy, and amazingly, her marriage to Harry Glassman
    wasn't as happy as made to look to the public, if what I read is true....Harry and Victoria had many rows towards the end of their marriage,
    where it was noted Victoria was hospitalized after a supposed assault, to Harry claiming Victoria had an alcohol problem. One has to
    wonder what Victoria was thinking - Andy adored her, and it appears that wasn't enough. Most women would have loved having Andy in their life....
    I have respect for Barry and the Gibb Family, they went through so much with losing Andy, and to even resort to barring Victoria from his
    funeral shows we will never truly know just how badly Andy was hurt. To hurt someone that much, yet turn up at their funeral, is not wise,
    unless you have a guilty conscience? To look at Victoria today, one would have to ask if she looks happy - she seems to be doing a lot of
    things Andy did, like philanthropy and getting a pilots licence. Victoria may be worth $300 million, but one would have to ask if she had
    chosen a different path, would leaving Andy be on that path....

    • @tsmith7119
      @tsmith7119 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Victoria Principal must have received a large settlement from her ex, Dr Harry Glassman. I have heard that he was to write a book about his relationship with VP.

    • @alanalightfoot1514
      @alanalightfoot1514 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@tsmith7119 Actually T, I also read about Harry planning to write a book and wanting to give interviews about their marriage, and as such, Victoria had to pay Harry $10 million as part of their divorce. Victoria was worth more than Harry, and it is documented online that she paid him the money to keep his silence about their Marriage. This shows maybe her relationship with Harry wasn't as portrayed to the media - although today, Victoria is very tight lipped about her private life. I am guessing she learnt having your life in the public eye is not what it is cracked up to be. Andy Gibb certainly found that out when he and Victoria broke up.......

    • @tsmith7119
      @tsmith7119 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Alana Lightfoot
      I read that, too. She had to pay for his silence. I heard that she strikes a man she is with. I wouldn't doubt it! I hope not Andy!

    • @Pamsmith59
      @Pamsmith59 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Good grief. Victoria may have not gone to the funeral out of respect for his family, and mourned him privately. Just as she chose to never take public issue with his Good Morning America interview, following his mental break-down, and his blaming his cocaine habit on their break-up! (She has explained that his drug addiction IS what broke them up!) Even Andy's own brothers and parents have stated that he not only had self-esteem issues, but that he had mental health issues. It is truly nauseating reading people judging things they have no idea about.

    • @alanalightfoot1514
      @alanalightfoot1514 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Pamsmith59 Pam Victoria did attempt to attend Andy's funeral, but was turned away by the family, which was documented by the media at the time. As for grieving in private, well, what was she grieving about? Victoria herself had said in interviews after they broke up she needed to and did move on, and marrying Harry Glassman to me proved that. Her life no longer included Andy, and she was married for over 20 years. Sadly though, Victoria seems to show more emotion for Andy now what is it - over 30 years later. Victoria didn't show much emotion towards Andy when they broke up, and for me, that speaks volumes.
      She chose to walk away, and knowing the turmoil Andy was in what did she think was going to happen? As for passing judgement, you are doing to exactly the same - presuming we have no idea about anything. Actions speak louder than words, and if the Gibb Family turned her away from Andy's funeral that gives me an idea of the situation back then. His family had to deal with not only losing Andy, but also having Victoria sue Barry for rights to the songs they sang together after he died. That is pretty cold to me, then again, as you put it, this was her way of dealing with her grief. I don't believe Victoria cared enough, until the last few years or so where she may have reassessed her life. Too little too late I would say.
