One huge reason for me is that I can actually get rewarded for my time in the game. There are so many systems that just reward you. I do delves, I get rewards, I do WQs, I get rewards, I do follower dungeons, I get rewards, I go faming for mats I get rewards, I can craft my own gear, high level gear. I actually want to be in game doing different things now, it's not a slog and a grind for maybe something good eventually. I don't have to do raids or mythic + to still feel like i'm gaining power. Warbands contribute to all my alts. Even that, having alts, contributes to everything I do. It's not a repeat grind having to start over on every alt. Blizzard nailed it, people like to have many different ways of playing this game. They aren't just catering to the raiders and high end mythic+ people anymore. Casuals like me can log in and just enjoy doing different activities now.
I think the real thing is, the game feels like "Warcraft" again. DF was great gameplay wise, but the setting and story was kinda... meh. This expac is basically a continuation of DF gameplay with a cool, warcraft like setting. I got some super nostalgia feels in hollowfall, learning about the arathis lore and stuff.
I might be crazy. But I really preferred the Dragonflight aesthetic. It just felt so special - a land of dragons and other mythical creatures was so cool. And I really enjoyed each zones factions and stories. Then come to TWW and I really just feel like the only new thing I have is rock dwarves.
@ThePhildozer89 I agree with your point about the asthetic being quite mystical in DF but dude there is way more than just the rock dwarves (I would be pissed if that's the only major race they included) but they've got the half elf arathi and the cool ass new ascended void touched nerubians, I just feel as if the zones are way more varied than they were in base dragonflight but I completely understand if you prefer dfs aesthetic
Delves is my reason too - love being able to log in and no pressure to push my delves to the next level - really hope they build onto this system to add a bit more depth.
Playing at my own pace and gettig all this nice alt benefits like warband and exp bonuses, has been a nice. I was even able to craft my own 619 spear with full stats and ascend.
for me, playing through harder delves as a solo player at my own pace made me more aware of how to use my class and in turn got me interested in trying mythic plus
Warbands because i love having an ALT army, delves are amazing for me as a solo player. The lore story and areas are amazing and feel very 'Warcraft' all of these combined make me love TWW.
Quality of life upgrades, especially warbands, and the fact that any player of any skill level with any amount of time can find something to do that feels worthwhile are what really separates WW from previous ex-pacs.
@@Jack-b5u9v It's true, however I can't say if what is available is going to interest you in particular or for how long. I would def recommend you find out as much as you can about how Warbands have changed the way the game works and what delves are all about. I will say if you enjoy leveling, gearing, and progressing multiple toons through progressively harder content you will most likely get way more than a couple weeks worth of game play out of it.
@@Jack-b5u9v This is by far the most alt friendly ex-pac I've ever played, and I've played pretty consistently since Cata. I would again urge you to look into warbands. They changed how the game works on a pretty fundamental level and all of it was designed to make playing alts easier and more rewarding.
For me, TWW has the same effect as Legion, its class is the center of the gameplay. The hero talents are the coolest thing about the expansion, because I didn't like the Delves.
The biggest compliment i can give the game from my pov is that my friends who usually just play the xpac for a week or two to see the new stuff then leave are still playing.
I started playing again because there are a huge amount of systems that were put in place for the solo casual player, and I am thoroughly enjoying that game design path, it's what I always wanted. I tend to shy away from the sweaty young crowd that does hard heroic and mythic content, it gets toxic playing in groups with these kinds of folks, the solo content has me hooked for sure. Delve seems pretty darn amazing to me honestly.
I will also say, in terms of gearing, that it is much easier to get past the initial 80 "grind" where, in the past, you were super weak when you hit level 80 and that always felt bad. Now you have the three easily achievable epic pieces from renown, the pheromone trinket from Severed Threads, plus you get gear from the first two pinnacle caches, as well as a weapon upgrade from finishing the campaign. Add the delves, follower dungeons, world quest gear, weekly events, the catalyst, and the spark system that works super well with professions, and you can gear pretty fast to be ready to do whatever you want for endgame. Never has there been such a vast array of things that just need time to do them, to move past the being a noob max level character and on to bigger and better things with ever passing week of the season/expansion.
The big thing for my guild is delves. We often struggle to have enough people on for M+, but delves give us things to do even if we only have a few people on or if people want an alt carrying through. I just wish there was more progression on them, T8s are easy now, give us better loot/crests for doing up to T11 so we have something to keep working on.
I’m only 1 min into the video and heard not delves. I love the delve system in the game. I personally have been going for the delve rewards for mounts, title, and gear. It’s peaceful soloing and def a challenge at T11. Delves are great!
Blizz successfully imported the Reputation, Bank and Transmog system from GW2 since they started with the copy paste of this system back in legion and renamed it to Warband.
There is plenty to do and the world feels more alive. Delves, flying around looting a thousand things, quests, events, dungeons, raids etc etc and I am invested in the story this time around. I even picked up raiding again. The last time I did progression raiding was back in Legion.
I'm mostly a solo player and only do M+ with friends and family when they are available. Delevs have been great and all the solo progression in the expansion. Love it.
Delves are a huge part for me. I can go at my own pace, afk when my kid or wife need me, and my characters are in full 610 gear from soloing.. keep that reward up as seasons go on, and they have my sub easy. The story is also a lot more interesting, the setting and clear enemy that's also interesting. The systems seem more polished and just all around more engaging. I like the direction the games going. Also as you said, warbands are freaking great. I'm up to my 5th 80, love that stacking xp bonus and warbank etc.
I was finishing darkmoon dailies yesterday knowing that I would hit exalted with the Faire. What I didnt know was that all of a sudden I could get ALL the mounts, toys and pets I was missing from the Faire in ONE day rather than half a year or so of grinding (I work shift), thanks to the new warband system. This is a perfect example that shows how much of a game changer the Warband system really is. I couldn't be happier :D Thanks for the video guys 👍
well, I return because of Holly Longdale, she kept Everquest a float for all these years on a budget not enough to get an extra bottle of coke. She did it all for the love of the game. She was a true gamer. so when she moved to Blizzard, well I want to see is she do what she said. Finally have a budget that is enough to advance a game. and she didn't disappoint. I salute her loyalty to gaming.
I’ll try answer this as a lifelong fan of wow. I last played seriously back in BFA, but I always keep one finger on the pulse with what’s going on lore and mechanics wise even when I’m not playing the game. Yes Metzen returning gave me a spark of hope that wows story would return to its former glory but also the trailer with Thrall and Anduin resonated with me as a jaded wow player being called back into action one last time. I loved M+ in BFA and the Delves were imo a great addition to the game, that plus how alt friendly it’s become is what’s kept me playing. I know this might not be everyone’s answer but it’s mine
IMO Dragonflight was a good beginning to TWW - no stupid systems, borrowed power and grind. Account wide renown is also a huge thing in TWW, people just don't have the time these days, make the game for casuals, not for that 2% of fanatics
Speaking as someone who first tried the game in legion (played for 2 days), in shadowlands (played for 1 day) and in dragonflight (played for 2 weeks). I started playing war within (have been playing almost every day since it came out) because I heard it was part of a 3 expansion story so I felt like I could actually be part of the game instead of trying to learn 15 years of backstory to catch up.
Not even sure why I like doing Delves. But I’ve got so much to do now. It’s been addicting again. Also that pre-order launch was awesome for questing. Gave me time to enjoy the story and quest without having to stop and join Q for M+ and raids ect..
I quit 10 years ago and only came back now because I heard you can play solo (delves) and still get good gear, plus I heard it is much more alt friendly now (Warbands).
As part of that silent audience I'm here to say that Delves are really good for me. Because I can log in, go on a delve and not answer to anyone. I don't have to open a group and wait, when my time and energy is limited after work and social things in my life. I just go in and do something I can do on my own without needing to wait for anyone or deal with anyone. I don't have to read "oh he's from Quel'Thalas" and be judged on every little thing that could be seen as a mistake. Then on weekends I can use part of my time to play some dungeons if I want to. I want to raid but I'm still looking for a guild that raids friday and saturday at night. Besides that I'm taking it slow, doing some world things and some questing, it's fun.
I feel like I'm not as far away as my raiding friends to the point where I can play with them not raiding and still compete, which may keep me around longer.
the best continuation in TWW is, that you basicly get no M+ invites unless you're either 20-30ilvl above the key as a DPS or you have already cleared 2-3tiers higher with your mates than the key you want to get in. true villain arc right there
I cam back after 10 years. What did it for me was 2 things. Number 1 being BDO sucks now. Number 2, I can progress without logging in everyday, and I don't have to set aside time for raids, or even group with others to do content. There's just so much to do besides raiding which is great
I consider resubscribing because of gameplay elements that are supposed to respect your time. If that's correct, not having to go through the same quests or reputation grinds for each alt is massive. And enganging solo player content that is no longer located in the grey tower of depression during covid anymore and instead has more variety sounds good, too.
Sadly I was altholic in Legion and BFA. It was miserable experience. Finally playing alts is fun, but now I learned through years that I can only play one character and now I still focus on one only. Maybe if it will get nerfed heavily I'll search for other main.
One more thing, they made the expansion free for me, all I had to do was create a subscription, that too was also a huge bonus that motivated me to play, plus this expansion has that old wow feeling from 20 years ago, it feels truly amazing.
I've played off and on through the years. Started in BC, really liked legion, then liked BFA and couldn't get into DF. There is more here that I like. I can push myself harder, skillwise, by myself with delves (I wish the dungeons with bots was MUCH harder). Warbands let me play a variety without anxiety like never before. I am just having more fun than I have had since the last season of legion, and before that wrath. I actually want to learn how to tank/heal now!
i think ppl arriving after dragonfligh was good, most ppl enjoy things added in dragonflight. but they didnt join in dragonflight after shadowlands was such a disaster.
The game is great fun and casual now. I can play multiple characters and feel like I’m not falling behind. The anniversary event that matches current content gearing ilvl doesn’t invalidate the past raid content but provides more. I’m loving the war within.
Not warbands for me, I still only have 1 character max but it is the most geared I have been this early. It's easy to know what to do, I don't have to be hated like I was in DF and Shadow lands.
Its funny that you guys mention the grim botol hate. Maybe because it was the first expansion i hit max level, but I enjoyed cata heroics a lot. I enjoyed the strategy required for a lot of those. The CC required, not pulling too much, and there was a specific route you had to take, maybe missing a few groups if you knew how.
It’s popular because delves gave everyone free gear for doing absolutely nothing, now those players actually need to play the game in M+ and are quitting now
The hype for War Within was minimized because it was only 1/3 of the launch, really. 2 expansions were introduced along with it, and while Xalatath is cool, she didnt have the name that something like a lightforged Garrosh / WOD invasion might have.
I came back after 13 years for several reasons: 1. * *Cough* * videos like these that hype up the expansion (positive reviews from beta were showing up in my feed) 2. Traditional marketing campaign from Blizzard "Get Back in the Fight" really calls out those, like me, who quit a while ago 3. I'm at a point in my life where I have a lot more spare time 4. Nostalgia
Tbf I think the main aspect is I don't have blizzard up my ass throughout the game...i haven't even done one m0 or any raids...I just did the story on my previous main and started lvling an evoker because I know that whatever progress I do on my evoker translates to the rest of the group so in short I can just do w/e... Also, I wouldn't say the lore is better it's just told better with some darker more adult themes. Harrowfall for example as a ton of good side quests, the quest line to help the orphan girl get revenge for example...it just makes you get in touch with the zone. Dragonflight had already began with this idea and imo the only thing that held the expansion back was not having this warband feature.
When I was running M+ pugs last night there were more parties than I have ever seen. DF was not a good expansion, it was just much better than SL, and it had good gameplay. But War Within, while not perfect story-wise, is a great expansion so far.
I believe it is a combination of things lining up in a Perfect Way, Chris Metzen‘s return better communication between the Dev team and the players way more approachable from a single player standpoint, but not forgetting about the social aspect the promise of a trilogy better game mechanics account accessibility with war bands, and good promotion The trailer with thrall and Anduin sold me I don’t necessarily think it’s anyone specific thing just a whole bunch of things, when it’s good, don’t knock it lmao
He needs to fix the dev situation when it comes to the consistently not meeting their maintenance schedules (6 weeks and counting for at least +2 hrs... +3 hrs today).
@@echolocationnthis isn’t even an issue, what if the extended maintenance IS the fix. What if the problems were from not giving the teams enough time? You have no idea what’s happening behind the scenes yet you act like you understand it completely.
If you think Chris Metzen has anything to do with why the game is good again, you are so out of touch that maybe you should step away from the game to rethink your situation. Metzen did nothing. They have been on this uptick since shadowlands patch where they started fixing things. This is all credited to the team for changing directions. Metzen has nothing to do with it.
The game doesnt feel like a chore. Alts are so much closer to a main. You can reroll and the only blocker is good gear. Just got steamdeck main to 80 and im so much more ahead than normal. (Steamdeck main is a pally obvs) Also as a casual, I'll do m+ one week not the next, having no weekly affixes makes me way keener to just try and get a group. You should also get a +2 key when you hit 80. M0 is such a slog to group.
Honestly I'm not even sure, one thing I know for sure is I like nerubians very much and I dearly hope we are not over with them yet, feels weird that queen ansurek is already done
I came back after a long break. Im level 30 and I get a choice of 1 of 3 dungeons in RDF. There are hundreds of dungeons but someone thought making level grinding only 3 dungeons a good idea. Boring as hell. Also zero challenge. There is a stat smash and getting yourself killed as a tank is virtually impossible. No challenge and only 3 possible dungeons to run. My idea was to come play a little and see if I want to buy the war within expansion. I kinda doubt it. Dont reply and tell me how great the end game is when a lot of people I doubt even make it to max level end game with how boring and repetitive RDF grinding is. 3 dungeons... 3. lol
War bands are cool but still need a bit more. A lot of those things are just a account wide stuff that has been a thing in other games for years. So wow is just now playing catch-up. I can’t be super excited about something that should have been the case since forever. Make it so I can take my alternate characters into follower dungeons , and Delves. Make war bands, a truly unique feature to wow not just a rebranded account wide sharing system and then almost every other game has in the first place
for me, the marketing guys deserve their W. I got back in, played the systems, and really enjoyed engaging in them. Story writing feels really sloppy after going from ff14 but it's an improvement from before.
Seems maybe Blizzard finally realised that solo content is where it's at, and maybe they shouldnt have listened to sweaty tryhards gatekeeping gear behind M+ and raiding. We don't want to log in to get rejected from groups or have to wait 1h to find a tank to do anything. They just need to make delves scale as high as any other content.
Ngl, as someone who has played solo for years now just having access to better gear without having at do mythic+ and shit has actually made me give it a go....... And m+ is still dogshit but I'm sure there are more players out there like me that do it and end up liking it.
I am playing differently... I almost have 8 lvl 80s. But my gear is only LFR lvl. The current raid is okay. The best raid was maybe Nyolotha during BFA
Other than Blizzard appeasing to the trans gaze for its DEI checklist, the game is pretty good. But i don't know if TWW is "popular" though, i want to see some statistics proving that's a fact.
All this is quite absurd. It is just the huge investment they did in marketing for this new expansion, the "Wold Souls Saga", bringing that guy back, blabla. It was all a marketing strategy. The game basics has always been good. Most played are casual, and don't care or compare different progressions systems in different expansions.
Accountwide currency, wue gear and great gear from delves is just amazing for alts. The dungeons are aweful. Every trash pack is vomiting swirlys, knockbacks, fears, another kind of swirlys, frontals, hooks, another kind of frontals, silence, slows, debuffs, a third kind of swirlys and more... And casters...there are so many casters. I realy like doing dungeons, but these dungeons...man i'm exhausted after 2 runs.
here because the update today keeps getting delayed lol on 5 hours and counting, also the real reason i came back for this is because i can do delves instead of M+ (the worst thing in the game hands down imo) Just fill my vault with delve and raid gear and my only problem is even now brann will stop doing anything and just stare at things when he is set to dps and im tanking. Im happy they also stopped being punks about alts sharing a rep
this game feels like WoW again. I think what makes it better is the hero talents and making ALTs matter and making leveling easier for each one you level up to 25%.
I cam back after 10 years. What did it for me was 2 things. Number 1 being BDO sucks now. Number 2, I can progress without logging in everyday, and I don't have to set aside time for raids, or even group with others to do content. There's just so much to do besides raiding which is great
Its not, players ditching it in droves.
how is called this quest addon - or is it setting? close up and different quest text?
I consider resubscribing because of gameplay elements that are supposed to respect your time. If that's correct, not having to go through the same quests or reputation grinds for each alt is massive. And enganging solo player content that is no longer located in the grey tower of depression during covid anymore and instead has more variety sounds good, too.
Sadly I was altholic in Legion and BFA. It was miserable experience. Finally playing alts is fun, but now I learned through years that I can only play one character and now I still focus on one only. Maybe if it will get nerfed heavily I'll search for other main.
It’s almost like respecting players time invested is a net positive in literally every game
One more thing, they made the expansion free for me, all I had to do was create a subscription, that too was also a huge bonus that motivated me to play, plus this expansion has that old wow feeling from 20 years ago, it feels truly amazing.
This my first time playing retail during the beginning of a current expansion and I’m having a blast. Just gotta find me a newbie friendly guild
I can equip and raid without m+ thats the reason and the feeling of a story, good story quests and hero talents with amazing visuals
i think ppl arriving after dragonfligh was good, most ppl enjoy things added in dragonflight. but they didnt join in dragonflight after shadowlands was such a disaster.
It's not special it's just ok for retail... I tried it out and already uninstalled to continue playing classic.
The game is great fun and casual now. I can play multiple characters and feel like I’m not falling behind. The anniversary event that matches current content gearing ilvl doesn’t invalidate the past raid content but provides more. I’m loving the war within.
For me was Delves and being able to actually play solo and get my char decently geared. :)
Not warbands for me, I still only have 1 character max but it is the most geared I have been this early.
It's easy to know what to do, I don't have to be hated like I was in DF and Shadow lands.
Warbands, alt friendly & finally gearing also in solo content. Delves & solo q rbg are so great 😊
Its funny that you guys mention the grim botol hate.
I came back after 13 years for several reasons:
1. * *Cough* * videos like these that hype up the expansion (positive reviews from beta were showing up in my feed)
2. Traditional marketing campaign from Blizzard "Get Back in the Fight" really calls out those, like me, who quit a while ago
3. I'm at a point in my life where I have a lot more spare time
4. Nostalgia
Metzen = Thrall = Varian = Return of the king baby !!!!
that's the feeling baby!
Im a New player and although the level process was a bit confusing getting to 70 and playing TWW I've been having so much fun!
Excuse me, sir...where did you get that tshirt??
Why question that which has to be played?
Thank you :)
I think its a drab, short of breath expansion, i got tired of it in 10 seconds
Rumors coming out that Metzen was at Diddy Freak Off parties...
Ok Gossip Girl
@@싸넬동지-7성담배 lol
When I was running M+ pugs last night there were more parties than I have ever seen. DF was not a good expansion, it was just much better than SL, and it had good gameplay. But War Within, while not perfect story-wise, is a great expansion so far.
I feel like df was just a ground or base for the war within to be good, i can't imagine what next expansions will bring if this one is this good
I quit after BFA, but the Thrall and Anduin cinematic call me home. Azeroth needs me, and this time, I will save her.
Ive got to know, what was that questing addon?!
There's only one reason numbers are up... Horde Dwarves...
Maybe it's the fact that Chris Metzen is back and the company's direction is better again.
Chris Metzen had little to do with War Within, but the vibe was brought back for sure!
@@MarcelianOnline he had little to do with the expansion, but as you said, he returned during the promotion cycle, giving hope to a lot of players.
It started in dragonflight for me, the dragon riding, and this new expack feels like wow again
The game doesnt feel like a chore.
Alts are so much closer to a main.
You can reroll and the only blocker is good gear.
Just got steamdeck main to 80 and im so much more ahead than normal.
(Steamdeck main is a pally obvs)
Also as a casual, I'll do m+ one week not the next, having no weekly affixes makes me way keener to just try and get a group.
Story writing feels really sloppy after going from ff14 but it's an improvement from before.
flame sounds like he inhaled a fat rip before talking sometimes i love it
Hey guys, I love your videos. Where is your purple T-Shirt? It’s so cool!
I completely forgot about your guys music video for shadowlands lmao thanks for that. Great video!
No worries!
I find it also a great expansion, i love it.
The problem is that they can't fix or bank, i loose all my stuff, more then 2,5 million stuff in total.
The ability to get geared for Mythic+ and Raiding without relying on RNG and grouping with randoms.
Warbands correct. Value for time correct. Ease to slip into alts all good. I'll be hanging around for awhile. And haven't played since legion.
I got the tank cloak from the raid in my vault last week. 10/10 blizzard, greatest xpac of all time.
Warbands is my favorite new feature by far
mechanically the improvements in the systems are great. And the game is fun.
How many are playing wow currently?
Ngl, as someone who has played solo for years now just having access to better gear without having at do mythic+ and shit has actually made me give it a go....... And m+ is still dogshit but I'm sure there are more players out there like me that do it and end up liking it.
I am playing differently... I almost have 8 lvl 80s. But my gear is only LFR lvl. The current raid is okay. The best raid was maybe Nyolotha during BFA
The hero talents
Other than Blizzard appeasing to the trans gaze for its DEI checklist, the game is pretty good. But i don't know if TWW is "popular" though, i want to see some statistics proving that's a fact.
ya wb has been a game changer for me; the game just feels right
did not wtach the video but WOW is popular cuz literaly every other AAA is pumpimg sewage out
All this is quite absurd.
We know one thing: Bobby Kotick not being a factor anymore probably ends up with a better result
Marcelian sounding like a demon at 5:00
here because the update today keeps getting delayed lol on 5 hours and counting, also the real reason i came back for this is because i can do delves instead of M+ (the worst thing in the game hands down imo) Just fill my vault with delve and raid gear and my only problem is even now brann will stop doing anything and just stare at things when he is set to dps and im tanking. Im happy they also stopped being punks about alts sharing a rep
It's not popular it's horrible lol!
right? its so fucking boring doesnt feel like wow anymore... i dont know what people smoking in this comment section

I think SoD got people back into the game and willing to try retail
this game feels like WoW again. I think what makes it better is the hero talents and making ALTs matter and making leveling easier for each one you level up to 25%.
My gf is brand new to wow and she ONLY likes the delves
Why is it so popular? The answer is simple, Shadow lands broke us.
The next expansion will definitely involve the titans.
