I don't think you quitting WoW PvP is sad, it makes sense with you becoming a dad and stepping more into that role. Especially with the numbers you're pulling doing more WoW variety (RP, HC, SOD, Retail) it makes a more secure livelihood for your family. I do think it's sad however people after 2 years are still asking about PvP and can't take the hint that it's not in your best interest to go back to that.
the entitlement that so many content creators' audience members have is mindboggling to me... it's like they don't understand that the person they're watching is... a *person* on the other side of the camera, with their own goals and motivations and interests, and they should be able to create whatever content THEY want to make, not be slaves to what their audience wants them to create
Playing arena casually and not caring whether you win or lose (but still being extremely skilled) is actually the key to higher CR. You’ll end up doing better this season than any other if you just play when you want.
Dude! Congrats Bro! What an amazing career you’ve had in WoW!! Now you get to enjoy your new career of being that dad and husband that YOU want to be!! You’re crushing it! So proud of you!! 🥳 Excited to see what other content you’ll be bringing our way!!
FFXIV pvp isn't as complex, but the principle of splitting abilities between PVP and PVE is there. They have all the same abilities, but they've taken 30-32ish abilities for each class and in PVP each class has like, 5-8 buttons and some of those have combos or interactions (ie. 1 is 1>2>3, press 4 then 6, changes 4 to another ability) etc. So the rotations in pvp aren't as deep, but you still need to use the right skills for the situation. Would be cool to see Blizz try something like that even just in an arena event mode to see if people liked it.
Still don't understand why they can't make the spells be different in pve and in pvp, a game that did this was Lost Ark and it worked pretty well, this completly removes the need to balance everything for both pve and pvp. It feels like we have 30 spells to use in pvp and more than half aren't even used in pve rotation.
To summarize, you're stupid. War within PvP is essentially Dragonflight, with a few new spells and poor class design. No significant change, Shadowlands/Dragonflight 2.0 as such its pointless on focus on PvP
Yay my guy is gonna enjoy the game the way it's supposed to be!! I'm there with you when it comes to retail pvp vs pve. The two will have to be a separate client so that each version can be completely independent of the changes big or small. Maturing and major life changes (marriage, children) will change your priorities for sure. Thank you for sharing your personal thoughts, Xaryu
The man who got me to do my dailies is finally doing his mythic dailies in real life. So proud of you and Shannon. You are going to be the best parents.
This hit me right in the feels. I had the same feeling and experience nearly 6 years ago when my wife was pregnant with our first son. Realizing I needed to become a casual player was refreshing but upsetting at the same time. Choosing family over games is always the right choice though.

GG Xar ❤️ loved watching your PVP vids even though I had no idea what was going. Have especially loved all the classic content - you’ve really helped pioneer the content on both fronts. Your current audience has organically shifted to classic / variety content and seem happy with it - so stay the path! I just had my son in August and have had to quit after playing wow for close to 20 years. Watching all you steamers helps me live vicariously and feel connected to something I love. All the best
Solution for pvp: FOCUS ON BGS NOT ARENAS. Shit maybe pull a riot and just remove 1v1 gamemode altogether aka arenas. Arenas are impossible to balance. BGs -are easier to balance, every class brings a unique advantage. Druid flag carriers, rogue defense and etc. -WAYY more entertaining then arena -easier to understand for the common viewer as well when talking about esports
I don't really follow you actively nor really "care", in lack of a better word, for your content that much but for what it's worth, you're the man. Leaving behind something one's highly passionate about is always a tough decision and a sacrifice in a sense. You're a solid dude and I can understand why people are drawn to your content and the personality alongside how you carry yourself is no doubt a big factor. Here's to a great path forward, especially with your family. Have a good one.
just wanted to say congrats on being a dad, and, I am super new to the channel and only came into it with your variety content. Specifcally, I have loved watching your Xarbarian classic hardcore saga! So, you've got a viewer even if you don't PVP much anymore :) good luck in TWW! I will be tuning in
Dude! So happy that you’re able to continue playing the game you love while making your family a priority. Unfortunately the role of a father is to make sacrifices at times but the ones who make those sacrifices turn out to be great fathers. Much love brother!
The embodiment of getting old, I love it for you man. Enjoy family, these baby years will never come back, playing wow casual is perfectly fine, ur still probably go harder than most of us xD
Real happy you're still excited to experience the game in a different way. I went the same kind of route you're doing now at the end of shadowlands. Used to be very competitive and trying to push M+ ranks, PVP ranks. Since DF i just played casually. played for the lore, the raids, and just having fun with friends running some keys. It really opened up how i felt about WoW almost back to a like "new experience" and re-sparked the fire I had for the game. Its such a great idea to go the route you're going! Have fun dude!
Thank you for being an upstanding pillar of the community Xaryu, As a younger wow player I've always looked up to you and enjoyed watching you have fun while dominating all forms of content. Wish you all the best with your family and goals moving forward brother!
Love you, Xar 🥺 This is such a big moment for you .. I feel it and I got emotional watching you saying that dragonflight has been the last season you played PvP. Watched you since Covid times 2020 when Pika ordered you burgers or something 😅 So many cool and wholesome moments that helped me to get through the lockdown❤️ And lots of things has changed since then. I know it’s always hard to adapt to changes around us.. All of that time I’ve been playing Cata on pirate servers and this time I decided to go in to explore something new for me with War Within.. This is a whole new game for me, I really enjoyed old school wow gaming style but it gave me thoughts that life is going on, it’s a chance to try something new and explore new experience! I agree that combat has evolved into a very mobile and complex thing where you need to click on 500 keys at 5 seconds, watch your procs and cooldowns all the time 🌚, my brain explodes truly haha But there’s always a chance you’d get used to it and would love your new emotions about it. Hope you’ll enjoy the game and remember that we will always support you whatever path you decide to go. Thank you for this video🫂
I'm LOVING the Xaryu Father Arc. Fatherhood changes everything for those that choose to prioritise the child. Correct call in my book. Switching playstyles is a hilarious experience and that's what I did when the kids were tiny. Enjoy it to the max bro ♥️
Cheers Josh, this is the one and only Neurus. I quit WoW a long time ago for similar reasons, I'm almost 49 now so I can't even PvP even if I wanted. I always kept watching your videos (and will continue to do so), but wishing you the best!
Good for you mate. I understand exactly what you mean. My oldest was born five years ago and that's when I quit playing retail (some classic off and on then since then). Life changes and you let things go but at the same time your life gets filled with other amazing stuff. I am actually considering picking up TWW because my oldest asked "Pappa can't we play some WoW together" (him sitting in my lap) and because of the reasons you mentioned in your video. Thanks for sharing bud! I appreciate it! ♥
Really the best thing from a business stand point is to stream what's most popular. Taking care of that new family is priority number one. You are what a healthy gamer looks like. Keep up the inspirational ways, and damn the naysayers!!!!!
Dude nothing more enjoyable than spending time with family specially when you have a baby. Can relate and wish you all the best in your future. Junior Xar ftw.
On another happy note, I think you will enjoy the time with the fam a bit more, watchin the lil one grow. As a single father myself, although my youngest is 24 now, I missed a lot but am glad of the times I didn't miss.
Just stumbled across your channel, congrats on the baby i know im late I just had my son on my birthday (July 27th) and its been hard adjusting because my hobby was video games. I was on the same boat only played pvp in DF season 1 and lost interest. Coming back now to TWW I think im going to take it a different route and really learn the game and just enjoy what I used to enjoy as a kid. Its hard to play games as much as i used to obviously but I feel like WoW is relaxing enough for me and I dont have to be locked into anything and kind of take my time. More life to you and your happy family brother.
As a long hardcore player when you said "loving hardcore wow" ❤❤❤ I am not crying, someone is cutting onions. I think that as long as you do stuff you feel passionate about, people will sense it and that passion will spread in the community.
If i could offer a suggestion; Level all the classes in WoW to max(or as high as you can go). Prioritize classes you have never played before, and roles you have never played before(Most people just DPS, they should at least try healing + tanking). This will feel like an entirely new game.
That's definitely a happy note bro. Since I had my daughter 3 years ago, my entire outlook on life has changed. Games are and always will be secondary to my family. I know you play/stream for your livelihood, but it's only entertainment. We support you no matter what my Magister brother.

Good for you, family is the most valuable thing to have. Enjoy that little one.
Playing arena casually and not caring whether you win or lose (but still being extremely skilled) is actually the key to higher CR. You’ll end up doing better this season than any other if you just play when you want.
Spoken like someone who’s never been high CR 😂
@@Solaxer nah but good luck with yourself king
@@Solaxer as someone who got R1 from season 10 to season 3 wod before quitting, not overthinking it is the key. Kindly, stfu
It feels like we have 30 spells to use in pvp and more than half aren't even used in pve rotation.
this whole video is within the context of pre season 1 where there's really no endgame yet
Xaryu wants to play retail and do pvp again, but he knows if he leaves classic he will get half the viewers 😂 and sit and 1k viewers again
Mad respect. You're such a great guy. So happy for you and your family.
Xaryu pushing keys could be insane content
wow...yeah good point. arena hype but different flavor
The man who got me to do my dailies is finally doing his mythic dailies in real life. So proud of you and Shannon. You are going to be the best parents.
You and Asmon are like the yin and yang of WoW, Xar. Always looking forward to your positive energy when I see your vids.
asmon was wearing some satanic t-shirt looking like an imp in the video ur referring to - checks out
This hit me right in the feels. I had the same feeling and experience nearly 6 years ago when my wife was pregnant with our first son. Realizing I needed to become a casual player was refreshing but upsetting at the same time. Choosing family over games is always the right choice though.
War Within is an amazing expansion! The lore and class design are great!
Best in years, hands down.
@@alistairclifton1286shadowlands was better
You guys say this every expansion.
@@robertb67it's almost like since bfa/sl the game has gotten objectively better. Crazy concept tho right man?
You are a legend ! I grow up with ur stream and vod, u make me what I am in wow since I started the pvp seriously and yeah its sad to ear but im more happy to see you happy in your life with ur familly, big up from France my friend, ur one of my hero fr ♥️🇫🇷
5:56 nobody...... NOBODY says "buttons" like that.
I had to take my ear buds off
Bro turned Victorian era British for just one word only to do it again 2 seconds later 😂
You will always have been a huge part of my and alot of others chillhood! Love thinking back at all those good memories :D Whatever you choose to do, you have done a great part already! Enjoy your family, and play wow whenever you feel like it :D
Desperately hanging on to this scam of a game.
If you don’t like it don’t play it?
Rank 1 as Dad, Rank 1 as husband, and lighthearted fun sounds like amazing plans for this wow expansion and your RL expansions. You have support always! I enjoy your content of all the types.
Thanks for the content Xaryu, Have been enjoying watching from Australia over the years. and You were very kind when commentating the Mak'Gora Tourny last year.
You were the inspiration behind all my hardcore WoW runs, glad you're still thinking fondly of the mode!
We're proud of you Xaryu! And welcome to Moon Guard! There's lots of good active and social guilds here. The Trade chat has no comparison for entertainment. Congrats on having your son and growing as a person.
Wow, great news ! That’s the content I always waited from you ! ❤
Bro got exalted in the arena grind. It’s time for the next grind. Bitter sweet moment for sure, but beyond excited to witness the next chapter! Taking care of your fam is the meta!
Im happy for you man. It seems like you are enjoying the game a lot and that really reflects on your streams ❤
Super happy for you brother. You are an amazing dad and always inspiring brother. Enjoy living 😊
Great video man. Had our daughter last July! Welcome to the WoW dad gamers club. Wish nothing but the best for you and your family.
Solution for pvp: FOCUS ON BGS NOT ARENAS. Shit maybe pull a riot and just remove 1v1 gamemode altogether aka arenas.
Arenas are impossible to balance. BGs
-are easier to balance, every class brings a unique advantage. Druid flag carriers, rogue defense and etc.
-WAYY more entertaining then arena
-easier to understand for the common viewer as well when talking about esports
Congrats 👏!
Happy notes indeed 💯
fr my childs birth is what got me to be super casual in wow. enjoy every moment you can as a dad, they grow up toooo quick
Im excited to see your new playstyle Xar :D RP & lore ftw!
just wanted to say congrats on being a dad, and, I am super new to the channel and only came into it with your variety content.
Seasons come and go. Times change but the memories will always be there of your journey. Xar enjoy your time and have fun!
You are a Legend Xar, u earned it
Thank you for being an upstanding pillar of the community Xaryu, As a younger wow player I've always looked up to you and enjoyed watching you have fun while dominating all forms of content. Wish you all the best with your family and goals moving forward brother!
Congrats and have a good time bro
and good for you bro!!
Love you, Xar 🥺
This is such a big moment for you ..
I agree that combat has evolved into a very mobile and complex thing where you need to click on 500 keys at 5 seconds, watch your procs and cooldowns all the time 🌚, my brain explodes truly haha
But there’s always a chance you’d get used to it and would love your new emotions about it.
Watching you back in the day is what got me into pvp! But you have to do what makes you happy and what you enjoy!
Cheers Josh, this is the one and only Neurus. I quit WoW a long time ago for similar reasons, I'm almost 49 now so I can't even PvP even if I wanted. I always kept watching your videos (and will continue to do so), but wishing you the best!
Xaryu, what if for pvp before players join the match they pick 4-6 abilities to use in the match????
I've grown up with you. I've loved you for longer than I can remember. A constant in the wow universe. From dad to dad, I love you, man. The GOAT going out on top.
