Happy Friday All! Different style of video today, in this one, we are recapping the entire story so far for The War Within. If you’ve skipped some cutscenes, not got the time to finish the campaign or want to relive the story, this is the video for you! Slowly putting together, a new PC that is going to purpose built for creating these videos for you so hopefully the days of missing small mistakes and taking weeks to create them are almost over. Next, I need to cleanse the library halls from a plague that swept through this week and then onto the next tale! Have a great weekend 📚
Was certain Adelgonn was pronounce "Aye-del-gone" but after questing some more I heard Anduin pronounce it "adel-gone", apologies for this mis-pronunciation
Your telling of the story is top tier. I just wish the story itself was. It felt like a literal Saturday morning cartoon villian story. Villian: "Imma just let the heros get away over and over again to charge this!" *shows the maguffin to the heros*" you can't possibly stop me so long as i have it!" *waves it around* " not this big target like object!" *continues to wave it around* " im super smart and powerful and stuff" Heros: "im not aiming at you" *shoots at glowing orb* Villian: "Oh no! It seems like you outsmarted my outsmarting! Who would have ever thought I, the super big bad of this expansion, would have been tricked by these do gooders who talk about their feelinga every moment i let them!"
The heroes side isn't any good either. Hero: "I need to do this alone even tho I have been fighting by your side for hundreds of years my husband, love of my life." Husband: "Ok, but why? We have been through literal hell and back." Hero: "you wouldn't understand" *emo hair flip* Hero: "Oh no! The big bad independent boss lady stops me every chance she gets! I can't stop her!" Power of friendship: "not alone!" *stops villian, maybe, kinda, definitely helped tho* Hero: "thanks but I must go it alone." Husband: "Nah, imma join you this time." Hero: "no, even tho you totally helped and your powers of the light is fair greater then anyone else's, you must stay here. I must go it alone." Hero's new boyfriend who is trying to rediscover himself: "don't worry bro, I will go with her." Hero: "yeah! That sounds like a great idea! Me and my just a friend are off to kill the wizard!"
Fantastic!! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 As someone who stopped playing wow, I still like the story and as such I can easily say that Karazhan Library is truly the best and only channel that provides full wow story for those who haven't played. Literally do not know of any other channel that does so in such a perfect manner. Thanks for all your hard work.
Playing through Hallowfall as a paladin was the most disappointing thing in this xpac. You can do so many of the things they desperately need, but are just completely ignored. I know they'd have to write it differently for just one class (and potentially priests) but it still sucked. Like I was in the background jumping and waving my arms the whole time "I have light! I can do that! Hello?!"
This is such a huge point for me. It feels so good when you do something that fits your class, for example healing allies etc. But as a dmg class this feels just boring and kinda wrong. That's why I loved legion
That's an inherent problem with WoW's story. You may be the champion, but you aren't the main character. You're just the guy that gets shit done. You're the erand boy.
This is a fantastic start, but it does have big "act 1" energy, which... it is, it's the first part of a 3 expansion saga. I just can't help but worry if they'll have the chops to deliver it in a way that doesn't feature these huge lulls between interesting content and story beats. It's the opposite of an expansion like Legion which was all climax all the time and felt like it really front loaded the exciting stuff.
I have no each to play WoW any more, but I still like to know the lore, but for the love of G O D this new Alleria model looks like she is going through middle ages as a elf version of "Karen" it hurts my eyes🤣
Oh, and calling it now. Illidan somehow saves the day at the end of this after he learns all Sargeras’ reasons for everything he is tricked into believing the Burning Legion were actually the real good guys.
Thanks a lot for this. I am not playing this expansion and maybe never again. But I want to keep tabs on whats going on. Appreciate this and all other lore videos especially the classic zones lore videos those are my favorites.
Made the same decision. I've bought every expansion to date hoping that I'll like it as much as I used to, but I've regretted the last few. I think I'm finally done chasing it
Reminder that Alleria was supposed to go all edgy like her sister, just as Windrunners do! Which surprised NO ONE, in fact we expected that (A Windrunner ruining things!? oh! how that can be possible...) But then I guess someone at Blizzard saw all the comments and went: *OH YEAH? WELL SHE'S SORRY NOW AND WILL COOPERATE* lmao. Cause I'm sure you all noticed the "sudden" change on her plans when she talked to angery Anduin.
I've just leveled and struggled with the story. I read that this lore was amazing but finished thinking that it felt awkward and lazy. I think i was sold a dream by the wow fan streamers again. i am going to watch this and see if i missed something, thank you
You know how Xala'tath was pretending to be Drenden for years and no one realised? Mighty convenient how Khadgar just 'popped out' when the Dark Heart got cracked, but the same thing didnt happen to the absolute mass of power stored in it Imagine if she never actually disappeared and instead turned into Khadgar, the absolute perfect face to wear if she wants to subtlely corrupt Alleria
@@TheKarazhanLibraryI think he means the earthen woman we freed from corruption who… seemed really important… she was at the centre of the room and was referenced at multiple earlier points in the story. Like when you confront all the foreman and look at the memory gem talking about xalatath’s artefact
I like how Anduin can't have heard what Alleria told Turalyon, but still went 'we'll be right with her'. Alleria: Turalyon, I want you do drill me like I'm the Dark Portal and you're the throbing orcish horde. Anduin: We'll be right with her.
Why is that? I'm honestly curious cause while in the same boat originally, I grew to like it the more I interacted with her on quests, cutscenes and stay a while and listens.
For me it's because the design is just too different. The elf with a hood look is such a distinct character trait of hers for many. It honestly feels like if u gave spiderman a different mask and a cape. Sure it can look good, but is it really still spiderman?
@@lary6420 pretty much what NiekVL said. i couldn't recognize her at all. even knowing its her i just don't see it, coz her original design was the long blond hair hooded ranger look
WoW needs to find its darkness again. That’s what made TBC and WotLK so good. They were dark, deep and gritty stories. Idk wtf happened. I presume most of those writers are gone and that’s why we get the meh stories now.
Yea agree. New setting just don’t carry the same weight. The wrath trailer will always make me feel wary with the narrating and the brutality of the lich king. New trailers and settings just don’t have it
Exactly what I've been saying too, I miss the dark fantasy. I don't mind the cartoonishness but I also do, I miss actually feeling for the characters and the overall darker atmosphere of everything. The new storylines just feel lazy and something I've already seen before a million times.
Why does someone, no offense, on TH-cam have to explain the story to me? Why can't Blizzard do this? Are they too busy smelling money? Your guests are bogged down by text walls, and KILL 20 THINGS PICK THESE UP. EXPLAIN WHY. Freaken hire a story writer like this guy, and fix it!!! This makes the game 100000% better. So thank you, Karzhan Library.
Wow should have ended many, many expansions ago, and preserved the lore ending with The Sundering during Cataclysm. Then maybe take awhile for creative to come up with a captivating story, instead of the “A new big bad worse than the last guy” scenario they’ve used ever since, put out Warcraft 4 and an expansion which would build up to WoW 2, with modern graphics and allowing players to explore the entirely new landscape after The Sundering and the following events in the RTS, in all its glory, and maybe released one expansion every two years after. The old shitty WoW graphics just look ridiculous, especially after such beautiful cinematics for the current expo. Of course this is just the meaningless opinion of someone who actually gave a shit about the story of WoW and was utterly captivated by the game when it first came out, but come on. When Sylvanas can solo the Lich King, who was a major threat for so long, and we can take down the titan of death who gave him his powers and we now chat it up with the very soul of Azeroth, how much more cosmic can the threats get before they are so powerful they can undo the universe with a thought?
@Kozuu7 We defeated a dark titan and its entire army. What threat is there after that? We fought a god and won. The question still remains... what is there after that?
You’re missing a key part of the conversation. A $10 micro transaction made more money than all three SC2. I can’t see that maximizing shareholder value

Beautifully narrated and well put together. I cant recommend this 11.0 recap enough. Great job.

Love your story summaries. I played through the entire campaign but still found some new tidbits in your explanations. Thank you!
Great video! Loved your character transmog!
thank you for the background video while i was my dishes i love you bro

Safe travels dude!
Amazing video, thank you so much for putting this together. Definitely will be my go to for the future expansions and lore related stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great views as always. No one does them better. I use them to fall asleep at 0.75 speed, you have the perfect voice for narrating!
One of the best story summaries I've seen of a game! Well done

Same when Anduin wouldn't cleanse the tower I was like "Hello, paladin right here"

The CHOSEN ONES randomly start hearing a song.....
"There must be some kind of way outta here....said the joker to the theif"
hey wait a minute... they *do* have story relevant watchtowers.... you're onto something...
Phenomenal video! Excellent breakdown of the story

Your light is not bright enough for blizzard storywriting
@somnus9976
Blizzards story writing had us defeat a dark god and its galactic sized army. Wow wrote themselves into a corner and it shows.
Super cohesive, I loved it so much
Amazing videos, keep on keeping on bro!
amazing video!
This was great! Do you plan to do recaps for previous expansions as well?
Anduin really is the Wesley Crusher of WoW.
Now we need one for the side stories & quests
I have no each to play WoW any more, but I still like to know the lore, but for the love of G O D this new Alleria model looks like she is going through middle ages as a elf version of "Karen" it hurts my eyes🤣

Good decision, I dropped £50 on this and decided to give it a go. It was the wrong decision.
Made the same decision. I've bought every expansion to date hoping that I'll like it as much as I used to, but I've regretted the last few. I think I'm finally done chasing it
Thanks for the summary. Although I read all the quests on my playthrough, I kinda zoned out and didn't retain any of the story beats.

Fantastic video! What are the shouldera your paladin is wearing btw? And how do i get em
Very nice recap
It was a blood elf corpse that she possessed, not a night elf.
Good spot thanks - Yes it was the High Elf Inanis, who we actually slay in Falcon's Rest in Drustvar
@@TheKarazhanLibrarywhen did that event take place? I haven't played since BFA First few weeks

I've just leveled and struggled with the story. I read that this lore was amazing but finished thinking that it felt awkward and lazy. I think i was sold a dream by the wow fan streamers again. i am going to watch this and see if i missed something, thank you
Most of that “Lore” is all through the side quests or “local stories” as they’ve been renamed.
Wish they'd go back to TBC/WOTLK themes, with story and art design. Everything feels so cartoonish and unserious. Dark fantasy is the way to go imo
It's yet another expansion with angsty boss babes yelling at and surpassing incompetent men.

Alleria reminding me of pre frostmourne Arthas
Well I feel so old that every loved heroes are dying in my watch... And I can't do anything about it.. 😢😢😢
