If you liked this movie, you will definitely like The Legend of Bagger Vance (with M. Damon too), even though the two stories have nothing to do with each other. Matt Damon's best films are the ones where he was young. 😉
Notice how Robin Williams calls him son. Particularly during the "it's not your fault" scene. "look at me son. It's not your fault". He was trying to portray his father telling him directly that it's not his fault and he takes the blame. Extraordinary psychology work.
@Devin G as both a victim of abuse and a man who lost his wife of 17 years 2 years ago I get both sides of this film. Will would rather hurt then be hurt and his genius IQ allows him to read people in seconds. Williams allows him to TRULY understand the abuse the beatings were not his fault. An as the man who lived and now lives for his wife I can understand his rage and throat grip trying to remind Will there are some places " you just don't go" the pain is too deep and anger lava hot. Just a brilliant movie and like always you always do the emotional scenes justice, Best wishes good Sir

I absolutely LOVE this movie. It never gets too old. The lessons and subject are all still relatable today. What an amazing 1st screenplay written by Ben and Matt. Robin Williams made this movie.
Three movies that will forever hold special places in my heart, and all three of them see Robin playing (One of) the major roles. "Patch Adams," "Dead Poet's Society," and "Goodwill Hunting." Williams was a real actor... drama, comedy, everything. A true thespian.
@@philosopher0076 Yes indeed! The Man is a Legend, by every measure! I particularly enjoy (And my level of respect rose even higher), seeing him perform for the troops during his 'USO' tours.
I used to live up the road from Robin in Topanga Cyn. CA. I designed & built the entrance gate to his house, so I had time to hang out with him on a number of occasions. I have never known any person as complex. Often he would run on like an unstoppable joke machine & at others he would be silent and morose. Once I brought that up and he said jokingly "It's the only way I can deal with the pain". We found out later that the pain won. Still miss him deeply.
Woohoo! Legendary film right here. Just gonna say this right now before I watch further: this movie consistently makes grown men tear up. I unashamedly get teary eyed even on reaction vids for this. I'm so glad you got to see this one!
This is such an excellent movie due to the Oscar awarded screen play, excellent acting, including, of course, the always wonderful Robin Williams (RIP).
bless you for being genuine and not trying to act hard or something. this movie is touching and important. when people (especially men) react to this they sometimes try and act all tough and above the emotion, but that entirely misses the beautiful point of this movie.
I'm touched deeply by your reaction. Seen this film a dozen times and feel bigger for it. You reminded me of what i loved about it and the deep humanity they touched in the art. Thank you!
I've never cried so hard watching a movie. It hit close to home with me. "It's not your fault." What a powerful scene. It's easy to know its not your fault logically but getting past the emotional damage of it not being your fault is so much more difficult.
I love this movie. Thanks for watching. Without Kevin Smith becoming a producer on the film Good Will Hunting, no studio wanted either Matt Damon nor Ben Affleck in the lead roles. Even though they had both written the screenplay, the studios considered them to be unknowns. Kevin Smith, thankfully, convinced them otherwise. One of my favorite films. I see myself in Jason Bournes character. I still haven’t dealt with my abuse and have a negative perception of therapy still. I just don’t see how talking to someone you’re paying to give a shit is meaningful.

The problem that took "2 years" is pretty simple. You just have to find all the ways of connecting 10 nodes together with no cycles (where a node goes to another node, and that node goes back to the first node), and the ways have to be unique in that one can't be transformed into another by moving the nodes around. Ten minutes and a piece of paper and most people could figure it out.
