@VerowakReacts I leave a comment on this film all the time. I worked with Robin Williams on a film and when people say "never meet your hero, they'll always let you down" doesn't apply to him... He was such a gentleman and great person.
You should watch 'Midnight Caller', 'Insomnia' or 'One Hour Photo' to see him play very different from most films he's cast in.
Loved the reaction, by the way

@@TerryNationB7Ironically, I think Jim Carrey playing a comedian (Andy Kaufman) in Man on the Moon is probably his most serious and arguably best work. I couldn’t stand Andy Kaufman and therefore didn’t like the movie that much, but Jim Carrey was astonishing in the role IMO. Worth the watch just for his performance.

The line: “Most days I wish I never met you because then I could sleep at night, and I wouldn't have to walk around with the knowledge there was someone like you out there….and I didn’t have to watch them throw it all away.” hits so hard right in the gut. The lads were played as from Southie (South Boston an Irish enclave... infamous for Whitey Bulger) ). North Cambridge (the home of Tip O'Neil) had the same ethos of TOUGH, LOYAL guys as Southie. I grew up in that milieu and can relate utterly to this film. We would NEVER let our mates down! @@VerowakReacts Yeah I second the motion on this one Vero, since you said you wanted to see Williams doing his best dramatic work. Dead Poets is what put Williams on the map as being viable in Hollywood for dramatic roles. And drummy's right, you'll totally love it.

Definitely worth checking out more Robin Williams entries. His range in dramas like these are incredibly noteworthy as he was more known for comedic roles. Insomnia directed by Christopher Nolan showed he can play a sinister character, One Hour Photo is another; albeit disturbed as opposed to competently evil. Devastated when he suddenly passed, although very pleased he won an Oscar for Good Will Hunting.

The lines in the scene when Sean talks about his late wife's farting antics were ad-libbed by Robin Williams. That is why Matt Damon was laughing so hard. If you watch the scene carefully, you can notice the camera shaking a bit, possibly due to the cameraman laughing as well.
Other great Robin Williams movies are.
    Dead Poets Society
    Good Morning Vietnam
    Patch Adams
    Hook
    Mrs. Doubtfire

I realize you’ve had so many suggestions already, particular ones multiple times. To document my two cents worth I can’t stress enough how impactful the films Dead Poets Society and The Fisher King are. Closely followed by Awakenings and Good Morning Vietnam. And all have some basis, loosely at least, in true stories or people. The World According To Garp is a good film based on an interesting novel as well.

Something's that not always talked about (there's a lot of great stuff to discuss so I get it!) but I love Gerry and Sean's non-apology at the end. It's a great show of real friendship; like, the entire movie they are at odds but both in their own way care about Will. Once they've both done right by Will, they're able to mend decades of fighting with six words, none of which includes actual "I'm sorry"s lol

The scene where he talks about his wife farting was improvised. It was so random, it even caught the camera man off guard, which is why the camera is shaking at that point also. RW was a total genius when it came to improv, and pretty much all films he's acted in are treasures because of it.

    Something interesting about Stellan Skarsgård:
Three of his kids all went on to be incredibly notable famous actors. While the rest of his children are still successful in their own right,
Bill is known for John Wick, The Divergent and as The Sinister Pennywise in IT. Gustaf for his work in The Way Back, AIR and Oppenheimer. And Alexander you might know as True Blood character Eric Northman, who would also star in the film, The Northman. (Yes, there is a connection there) But yeah, I was quite blown away at the impressive legacy of the Skarsgård family.

Many of the lines that Robin Williams and Damon had together Robin changed with ad libing with a witty comeback. Some lines that they kept like "Tell me what you really think" and the last line in the movie which he was suppose to say "good luck kid" but Robin changed it to "the kid stole my line" Matt Damon And Ben Afleck were so impressed with how better he made the script they kept all of his "additions" while filming.
