While Malls in the PH are thriving, Malls here in America are dying. Too many grab gang thieves proliferate the cities especially in California's big cities.
People still wear masks for different reasons... some are introverted or have social anxiety and the mask gives them a sense of comfort, security and peace of mind. Some people still wear masks because they want to shield themselves from pollution. Some just got used to it and genuinely enjoy wearing it. Some people still wear masks because they have high risk loved ones living at home with them, like grandparents, or those who are immunocompromised, or those who have comorbidities. We just want to make sure that we wouldn't bring illness back home to our loved ones.
When you live here in the Philippines, you need to get rid of your American attitude of being in other people's business. Here we let people do as they please as long as they are not bothering anyone. You need to stop making those rude, snarky and condescending comments, especially because you don't know each person's situation.
Should be the other way around. People in the United States mind their own business but majority of Filipinos are minding others as my personal observation. No offense !

I totally agree with you. People wear masks for different reasons and it's not for anyone to criticize about it. I, for one have been wearing a mask every time I go out, to protect myself, as I have weak lungs and get infected easily. It somehow gives me a sense of safety when I mask up. Making unwelcome remarks about people around you especially those who are not of your own kind just elicits dislike and scorn. Better behave when you are in a culture different from yours because you might get on people's nerves.

Hey brian, next time visit okada manila and tye surrounding parts of okada area, glorietta and greenbelt in makati city, festival mall and alabang town center in alabang, eastwood city, city of dreams, newport world resorts, visit alao the most famous theme park in the philippines Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna not too far from bgc. Do your research. Check out different places in the metro.

Good questions. It's not been mandated since the COVID ended. Any use is purely voluntary and a matter of private preference. Don't judge.
It was all a farce. Masks will not prevent anyone from getting sick from COVID. It never did. It may minimize the spread per theory but I don't think it did any good. Masks are bad for your health because it may prevent you from getting enough oxygen to maintain your health.

They’re wearing masks cause Filipino households tend to be multi generational where their grandparents live with them. That and metro Manila is the most densely populated metro area in the world ….
Filipino Malls is convenient they have Grocery, drug store, some has church, Pawnshop if you need remittance money you can pick up anytime in a minute its in the mall or you need emergency cash you can pawn your jewelry. And more. In the state is hard especially you dont drive.

It always make sense to wear mask to any individual who's conscious of their safety, especially in regards to the possibility of catching any contagious respiratory illnesses whenever you're in public or crowds. For some it's the norm even before covid when they go out and travel.

Mall of Asia is just one among many malls in Metro Manila and most of them are jam packed especially during weekends. If you don't believe me, try going to SM North, SM Aura, SM Megamall, Robinsons Ermita, Fisher Mall, Cubao Farmers, Festival Mall, etc, just too many to mention.

A total of over 18 years living overseas. I agree celebrities also wear masks too. Having 20 percent of Philippines 🇵🇭 people with lots of wealth. 80 percent poverty to just making it.
