Then us being 3 and O and winning, which is rare in having a heck of a good defense that can take as far with an improving offense. I welcome both quarterbacks, because if we're going to make a Super Bowl run I don't think Russ is not going to complain being the number 2 quarterback, there's a Super bowl run!!!

Chris has a good point. If Russell had been Pittsburgh's starter these first three games, and three games in he had 2 Passing TD's and 1 INT...the take would be "Those numbers suck". But since Fields came in with lower expectations, the take is "That's pretty good". Let's get real. Fields is an average QB at best. But he's blessed to be on a team with an all-world defense, solid running game, and strong coaching. Last year, Russ had 26 TD's to 8 INT's on a garbage team. I think he could be doing every bit as good as Fields if he was healthy. Pittsburgh's defense would make EITHER of those QB's look good right now if they can go out there, avoid turnovers, and make a few key plays per game. But Fields is 10% the cause, and 90% the beneficiary, of the Steelers' success.

The Steelers can't continue to make adjustments for the limited ability of Fields when they start playing the Chiefs, Ravens, Bills, Vikings, and other Championship Super Bowl ready teams, if the Steelers want to go to the Super Bowl! Russ is going to win two more Super Bowls by 2028, even if he doesn't play with the Steelers! It is not that many Super Bowl ready MVP QBs in the NFL Super Bowl ready store anymore, for Russ not to be able to get a starting QB job like Rogers and Cousins did !
