A lot of these first and second year rookies are not NFL ready, no matter how high they have been drafted. The successful ones are the outlier. The NFL is starting to realize how much development these kids need. They are only 22-23 and their brains aren't even fully matured yet. Plus, NFL defenses are just miles beyond anything they ever saw in college.
More like RE-learning, this is how it used to be. Not too long ago, starting a rookie was not the norm. Look at the last generation of great QBs, most of them sat at least one year
Bryce not lacking in terms of inexperience like you said though. He just has no physical attributes that sets him apart. In such a physical game like football, the dude is barely 5'9, light af with a small frame and no athleticism. I dont think he'll ever be decent. For being a pocket passer, he cant even see over his oline. Its a disaster he went this high. Andy made it look so simple. Just read and throw. Bryce complexing everything and his physical limitations is to be blamed.
I like how Rex says you were brought in to develop the QB. I thought the main reason for any coach and any QB to be brought to a team was to win games!!! If you can't win ur out or on the bench he should know better than anyone. I'm just saying 😁
Rex is wrong on his take. You don't bring in a coach to develop a player. You bring in a coach to help your organization win games. That's exactly what he did. He recognized the qb that he inherited is not it, so he made a change. The result was an A+ not an F.
@drewroebuck6979 All players struggle in the NFL from time to time no matter how great. Bryce has been awful since being drafted. He doesn't even look like he belongs in the NFL. As a saints fan that Goedert crossing route gave me Deja vu from Kittle doing the exact same route , same game sealing catch a few years ago in the playoffs.

Everybody saying panthers has 0 weapons and everybody is trash beside bryce was crazy honestly. Now they get to see how much good a qb play can change a team.
What Andy Dalton's success means is that Bryce Young wasn't ready and that needs to sit, watch, and learn and thats ok. Dalton knows what it's like to be a franchise qb, hes seen every defense there is, and he has won a lot of games in NFL. Mahomes sat behind Alex Smith for a year. Jordan Love sat behind Rodgers for multiple years and it helped them both.

#1 reason for a new head coach will always be to win.. the media make it seem the decision to bench bryce is the moment of failure, but this is an on going process. so the way they manage bryce (and the way bruce adjusts) during this time is what will define success/failure
Bryce will be fine! Maybe he just doesn’t fit with Carolina. Maybe he just not ready yet. I just hate how the world has just become so much about instant gratification and quick results! In real life there are times when we may have the best possible person to be with and maturity wise we’re just not ready yet and we have to do work to get better. Hopefully not only Bryce Young but any person on this earth who wants better results out of life will do what it takes to get better and get what they feel they want or deserve. It just sucks that in the world we live in now that if someone doesn’t meet our expectations we quick to condemn them for it. When we look at any area in life the most successful teams/organizations/companies/ relationships/ are the ones who took the time to develop and progress and not just say well this doesn’t work today so let’s not be patient and move on. I hope everyone has a blessed day!! 💯🤞
Nah he shouldnt have went this high in the first place. He doesnt have the physical attributes to complete at an nfl level. Barely 5'9, small frame, no athleticism, cant see over his oline. What a disaster

Last I checked you don’t have to be a starting Qb to develop. Statements like that make Practice sound like a completely unnecessary function of the game. Coach did right sitting him, he can learn behind the scenes. When his numbers called again he’ll be better prepared.
Yea but he just not good man. Nothing that sets him apart. Hes 5'9, small frame and no athleticism, cant see over his oline. He shouldnt have went this high. All the effective qbs are either tall 6'2 and above or they are stout and built. Bryce is none of thay
These analysts always want the college superstarts to succeed, not just want but DESPERATELY want. I dont understand... if he aint good he aint good live with it
I think he can still develop Bryce. Just in practice, behind the scenes for awhile. Let’s build confidence in the locker room first. Most of our offensive are new to the team. If we can build confidence in the coach and build Bryce to take over once Andy retires or moves on we could have a killer team!
Imagine being Carolina: -Didn't pick Stroud -Traded their future for Young -Now Andy Dalton is the guy at the helm 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Serves David TEMPERtantrum RIGHT.
Andy Dalton will be in the Hall of Fame after this season!! Panthers are bonafide super bowl contenders now!! I would not want to have to face the Panthers now !! Dalton express is about to take over the NFL.. Tom Brady hide your rings!!
Maybe developing BY starts with sitting him. Who's to say that sitting him for a few weeks to get his confidence back isn't the right play? Let Dalton win a few games to keep them alive, and then test BY later to see if he's ready
National media doesn’t know what they are talking about, it ain’t complicated, Bryce was the problem period and I was defending Bryce up until the Charger game last week🤷🏾♂️
What a great analyst! So let me get this straight the way to develop a quarterback is by having them play on actual games on Sunday and get demolished every single Sunday, further demoralizing the team the rookies and then the total fan base. What a great plan. by the end of the year you won't even have a team anymore if we keep losing it we don't make a change.
I would love to ask Rex whats the difference in sitting a young QB at the beginning of his career to let him develop and sitting a young QB 2 games into a season with a new coach to let him develop, arent both situations acheiving the same result? In both situations you are sitting a qb to let him develop its just one is a year later
Dalton is a seasoned vet so really he did what he was supposed to do. What the analysts were wrong about is Panthers’ personnel and also the Raiders suck. I’m not with the crowd who says this is an indictment on Bryce Young though. Simply not ready to be the starter whether it is in Carolina or somewhere else.
Bryce is a generational talent. NFL teams should really consider a really hefty trade to get him. I'm a Panthers fan but that has nothing to do with it.
Anyone who actually understands football and watches the games could tell that Bryce was the issue. He just never settled and took control. Hopefully he figures it out but to see Andy shine proves that Bryce was not ready and was indeed the issue with the offense.

He has to be developed into winning games casual
@@theGodzilla919 he can’t because he’s garbage casual.

Damien Woodley stumbling because he was wrong to say Bryce wasn’t the problem
So the panthers have solved there problem is what you are saying?
@@LamarWorld-m5t They seemed to be firing on all cylinders yesterday. Let's see how this week goes
@@LamarWorld-m5t Dalton showed that the rest of the team might not be the problem. Too many people made excuses for Young's play by saying how bad every other part of the team was. Dalton showed they could play at a high level. The only change was qb and it made a big difference.
@@LamarWorld-m5t Bryce was holding the rest of the team back
@@DrSamBeckett there was no waiting for bryce
Panthers may not be to blame for Bryce Young, Only time will tell.
hahahahah nice
History suggest it's the panthers fault. 3 coaches in 18 games. No rookie can succeed in that situation
@@BLACKSTONEPOET They said he was NFL ready. Saban sold everyone snake oil.
@@BLACKSTONEPOET Trevor Lawrence, Baker Mayfield, and Jared Goff all had 3 HCs in 18 games. Seems to me plenty of rookie first overall pick QBs overcame that situation.
@@BLACKSTONEPOET Well if could have make that magic appear they wouldnt have got fired but on the flip we got a good coach
We can all agree the panthers energy and confidence looked completely different no shade to Bryce but they all rallied and kept that energy and it produced and showed in the field lets see how far it can go but Andy's confidence and demeanor were what that team was feeding off of
This was no surprise, and it had nothing to do with Bryce. They "got up" for the game because they were getting dragged and called no playmakers. Nobody likes to hear that and they stepped up. Seen it a million times over the years. The question is, can they keep doing it.
@@hot2warmyes it did make a difference not having Bryce in. The field was actually being read yesterday as opposed to weeks 1+2
@@hot2warm they been called that all last year too and called the laughing stock this had nothing to do with that it had to do with seeing the team succeed and actually move the ball everyone came to play and ready with a refreshed attitude and it showed I'm their play
The statistics are there, majority time a new QB ignores the team for a game or 2 but it's not because Bryce. Did it when Cam came back, did same when Baker came first game
@@TSmitty360 all that sounds good but Bryce literally wasn’t getting first downs or throwing past the line
That Dallas Goddert play gave me George Kittle 2019, 4th and 1 conversion vibes.
Cant admit when you're wrong and dont warch the games. Its painfully obvious. Bryce has help. There is talent on the Panthers roster but if Bryce cant get them the ball they cant help him.
Imagine Rex Ryan criticizing a coach or QB play.
Bruh what’s the argument? Andy is clearly better! Bryce needs to sit. Point blank period
I like how Rex says you were brought in to develop the QB. I thought the main reason for any coach and any QB to be brought to a team was to win games!!! If you can't win ur out or on the bench he should know better than anyone. I'm just saying 😁
That Week 3 Panthers game showed me that Bryce Young is a BUST and that Andy Dalton is still a good QB that can still ball for most of the league.
Rex is wrong on his take. You don't bring in a coach to develop a player. You bring in a coach to help your organization win games. That's exactly what he did. He recognized the qb that he inherited is not it, so he made a change. The result was an A+ not an F.
Yeah. There's no place in the NFL for emotions. Teams gotta put their best players on the field, doesn't matter who has to get benched.
Criticism of bryce young is like criticizing the lgbt community! Its off limits to the liberal sports media!
Looks like it and as both a Panthers fan and a LGBT person your calm is very on point you can never reason with these people.
they not gonna talk about cjs disasterclass🤣
Of course not ! Him and their king mahomes had a bad night but we won’t hear about it .
The strouds will remember this
Better believe in Houston now he is getting destroyed..
@drewroebuck6979
All players struggle in the NFL from time to time no matter how great. Bryce has been awful since being drafted. He doesn't even look like he belongs in the NFL. Dalton showed what a legitimate QB can do with the pieces the Panthers have on offense.
Dalton destroyed the narrative that the Panthers have nothing to work with.
The Vikings is no joke man
Dalton balled out. Young wouldn’t have done that just accept reality
Rex Ryan may know defense, but isn’t the sharpest dude in the world
As a saints fan that Goedert crossing route gave me Deja vu from Kittle doing the exact same route , same game sealing catch a few years ago in the playoffs.
REX MAD THE LATINO HAS A JOB COACHING AND HERE ON TV CRYING WITH NO OFFERS LOL
Let's title the clip so that it's the last topic discussed and we cut off half the conversation, thank you.
Bryce Young obviously lost the locker room, and the coach was going to lose the locker room as well if he didn't make this change.
This the only way Rex Ryan can sleep at night. Gotta run his mouth.
Who cares what he said he would do when he came in. Canales made a risky call and it’s paying off. He didn’t draft BY, what loyalty does he owe him? Rex is just mad that BY looks like a generational bust
Lol Dalton and the Panthers literally made these dudes choke on their words…bu bu but the organization and the coaching. Greeny trying to take some ownership at least, there is a reason why Rex isn’t a coach in this league anymore.
Amazing what can happen when a team has a QB or is it still everyone's fault but Bryce?
Im so sick of these idiots talking about every other excuse than bryce young just being bad
Rex gets an F for this take. Bryce is cooked and they just don't want to admit it.
Move to move the goalposts after being proven completely wrong Rex!
And that other dude (don't even know who tf he is) saying this is 'not an indictment on Bryce Young', clown behavior lol
I like Rex but his take on this... That's the real F
Threw into a team meeting is gold
Bro is a first ballot hall of fame hater
I don’t buy anything Rex says. I do buy the Panthers.
That Vikings DF is crazy well coached
Greeny woody Rex teddy , bring that same vitriol to the table against a 0-3 BLEACH BLONDE BAD BUILT BENGALS BURROW that you would have and was hoping for a 0-3 Lamar , bengals is at the bottom of the north and has only a 1in 120 chance to make the playoffs . I’ll be listening
Carolina clips start at 10:40.
Where’s the “iTwAsNtBrYcEsFaUlT” people??
Seeing a battered Rams team still come out and beat the Niners doesn’t totally surprise me. I watched Matt Stafford week in and week out for 13 years make greatness happen with like two guys at his disposal. One of those guys was Calvin Johnson, but still. He’s elite
I dont understand... if he aint good he aint good live with it
Haters hate eating their own words. Serving up some word salad for breakfast. ⚫️🐈⬛🔵
did bro just say the bears let go of a generational talent ? 😭 and that they have a generational talent right now ? 😭😭😭
Jalen Carter is crazy good this was his most complete game him and Davis
I think he can still develop Bryce. Just in practice, behind the scenes for awhile. Let’s build confidence in the locker room first. Most of our offensive are new to the team. If we can build confidence in the coach and build Bryce to take over once Andy retires or moves on we could have a killer team!
Imagine being Carolina:
-Didn't pick Stroud
-Traded their future for Young
-Now Andy Dalton is the guy at the helm
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Serves David TEMPERtantrum RIGHT.
💯
See I was a Bryce supporter but Andy dalton looking like 2014 prime Andy dalton isn’t a good look😂😂😂
I see that Dalton is really channeling his inner Jedi Cal Kestus in the thumbnail😂😂😂
They can finally evaluate a roster based on the scoreline, the HAVE a roster !
Carolina sabotage Bryce or Bryce a BUST🤔
And I don't care about Rex's opinions........
Ochocinco was man enough to apologize and admit he was wrong
Rex Still Hating
Bryce is a generational talent. NFL teams should really consider a really hefty trade to get him. I'm a Panthers fan but that has nothing to do with it.
Anyone who actually understands football and watches the games could tell that Bryce was the issue. He just never settled and took control. Hopefully he figures it out but to see Andy shine proves that Bryce was not ready and was indeed the issue with the offense.
Bryce can’t see over the line lol
Editor at espn doesn’t have a proper title for this upload, him/her must have a liberal arts degree
Andy Dalton was ran out of Cincinnati! He put together one game and he is the greatest over Bryce?!?!?! Now if he does it over the next few weeks, then I will agree. This was a spark for now!
Rex sayin that as if he didn’t dump both Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith early in their careers. Canales definitely made the right decision
