Yeah! The sad part is people in my family have been encouraged to lose their accent because it sounds “unintelligent”. I’ve performed before and had people tell me they think my accent is too hard to understand. It’s a real shame. They’re usually the same folks who claim to be so open minded that tell me I should tone it down.
I ran one of your songs by my daughter, a medical professional, and she feels there is nothing deficient about your accent. See, your comment to me is perfect English. That's where some standardization belongs, in writing, not in speech patterns. Besides, if if don't catch some of your wording, I simply look lyrics up on the web.
@@murphydoesntmatter I envy your accent, no culture left in mine, or have me a listen singing and you decide. It is a blessing made out to be a curse by those who seek to control others because they cannot control themselves. Murphy matters says this Kelly. This is just an incredible comment. It reminds me of some legendary lines by The Four Tops from the 1960s: "How can they control you, Bernadette, when they cannot control themselves, Bernadette." Music and lyrics live.

I feel like I'm on a ship of brave ones sinking away and (they)have 1 shot only that must be made of impossible precision beyond human precision and seemingly from high above it is achieved and then I witness the impossible, and then I'm merely just listening to beautiful twangs of pleasant instrument strings

Great rendition! Makes me want to go buy a fretless! I just have to point out one thing. The original lyric by Dirk Powell isn't "rations sack," but "nation sack." A nation sack was a small drawstring purse similar to a mojo bag. It was a cultural tradition brought over from West Africa by black Americans, and it was a sort of protective amulet, filled with roots or herbs, coins, and hair or thread tied in special knots. It could also be used to keep items of a lover to ensure that they remain faithful to you. So the line "ain't got a dime in my nation sack," in my humble interpretation, isn't the singer just saying he's poor, but that he's completely all out of luck, or alternatively, that his lover left him or he has no lover.
thanks for the shout
sounds amazing :)
Oh my goodness thank you so much! I could not get over your cover truly.
Your tone and the flow of your craft continues to improve. Thanks for sharing, really enjoy your work!
Thank you! I really appreciate you being so present from the very start

I’m looking forward to an EP. I know you got it in ya.
A moody minor key indeed. I love different American accents, and from what I've read, yours is in danger of disappearing. So I'm glad you're singing.

Holy-smoke, what a beautiful performance. ❤❤
Love it, a favorite, and I enjoyed hearing it on fretless. Nice job!
This is the only channel that makes me, a European feel like I'm an American. :) Great performance!
Gorgeously sung

Love it! What tuning are you in?
I am not actually sure! I tuned by ear but I’ll get back to you if I can find a tuner to give exact notes
@@murphydoesntmatter after me own heart. What key you in? M'yeh, it 's in tune, I can sing to it.
Just so.
Very nice! Who inspired you?
My papaw
do you have stuff to try and make a thinner uncapped poplar bridge? it might sound a little different without the resonator.
I’m pretty sure this banjo is resonator-less. It’s the fretless one goldtone makes, all open back.
@@murphydoesntmatter ok it looks just like my Kay when I take the resonator off
@mrgreeley8500what about the bridge? Do you mean file it down?
Ohhhh I didn't know gold tone made a budget friendly fretless....I may have to check that out
@@JacobvsRexit’s really nice! They have one for 280 but you could probably get it cheaper used.
This is right.
What shoes are they? Gotta get me a pair
They’re an old pair of docs! Crazy horse leather I think? They were on sale a while back
@@murphydoesntmatter Oh neat! I'll have to keep a look out, thanks a bunch an great playing as always
Very nice join a band
Thank you but I like to be alone a little too much to join a band
@@murphydoesntmatter someday someone might ask and please say yes
@@murphydoesntmatter Solo as well, the catharsis. You wanna long range collab with an entity with a paper bag mask for a face, lemme know.
Just me or the banjo sounds like water drops?
