  • A look at the SW-Motech pannier from MotoLegends. (Link below)
    In their own words - “State-of-the-art materials with a classic style: The Legend Gear luggage line combines an ageless 'retro' design with choice materials and a versatile fastening system. A combination of coated canvas sailing material with robust napalon synthetic leather supports the vintage design with the toughness needed for daily use on the road. Versatile and robust: Offering bags for tank, tail, saddle and side of the bike, even convertible to backpack or shoulder bag, the Legend Gear soft luggage line is made for individual needs”
    I love it. They are available for just about any bike and are extremely functional.

    Thanks so much for posting this video. I have wanted to fit a pannier to my w800, but didn't want anything that spoiled the look of the bike.
    This looks perfect. Thanks again 👍

    Great video. I'm likely going to go with these for my W800. Thank you.

    I know this is an old video you done. But I do like these, and probably order up for my RE 350 Meteor. As you mentioned the bracket is quite compact, and doesn’t look like a scaffold on the side of your bike.😊

      Exactly 😁 the frame doesn’t distract from the beauty of the bike 😁 thanks Mark 😁

    Simple to fit ,looks great when new. However mine falling to bits after 2 years and two thousand miles .The black vinyl peeling off on the bottom , and the waterproof inner bag condensates when it’s cold outside . Expensive too .

      @TAYM  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s good to know. At least I can expect another year out of mine. What did you replace it with?

      I have had leather and canvas ones on other bikes in the past and they never lasted well during winter but it seems such a shame to have to resort to full hard luggage which to my mind only seems to suit the more modern style of bike. (My Triumph Tiger luggage still looks like brand new after years of work.

      You could take a look at the Lomo waterproof panniers. They seem to be completely waterproof and very cheap. So it's not a lot of money wasted if they fail after a few years. They might be able to be attached to your existing Motech pannier rail.

      Will certainly look in to it.

    I got the Messenger style ones by Longride. It's a Belgian-French company with super high quality in mind. This looks good too tho.. but might be a bit less good-looking tbh but that's completely my own opinion. Great vid👍

      Just looked at the Longride, how do they connect to the bike? Love the look of the patriot.

    • @jubei6802
      @jubei6802 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TAYMIt's connected with straps that go under the seat. It's really oldschool maybe but that's what ur going for with this bike anyway.

    I agree. Great bike. I am going to buy these bags for my SCR950. Decided today. There isn't much else for my bike. Unobtrusive, stylish carrier. I rather like your little fairing, as well. How big is your laptop, please?

    Anything to lock it in place or can anyone come along and unclip it? The alternative is to take it and your waterproofs with you everywhere. Dirty side in or out?

    • @TAYM
      @TAYM  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly, no it can’t be locked to the bike unlike the some of the longride bags. There are plenty of tabs on them if you wanted to use a small bicycle lock to fix it to the bike but nothing to lock the bag up. As I try to get across in the video, they are a compromise. They are cheap enough (as far a luggage goes) costing roughly about a 1/4 of the longride (which appear far superior) and for EVERYDAY and ALL YEAR use I am not to worried about them getting dirty or even damaged. I use them for work and can remove when I get to the office.

  • @grandwagoner
    @grandwagoner 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve just bought one of these and looking at the install instructions can I ask, when you removed the shock absorber did you have to jack the bike up to reinstall it again ? Also how In the hell did you loosen the nut that holds the passenger hand rail on. I can’t get a spanner or socket in there to loosen it.

    • @TAYM
      @TAYM  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blimey, it is a while since I did it, I will have a look when I get home. I don’t recall any issues and never used a Jack. Will let you know 😊

    Don't buy these SW Motech bags. They latch to the bike but DO NOT lock to them. So if you leave the bag latched...someone can walk off with the entire bag. Nobody mentions it. Crazy.

    • @dthompsont3796
      @dthompsont3796 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Put a screw in the back of the locking mechanism if you are going to leave it on the bike.
