The traditional instrument is called a çifteli or Çiftelia (pronounced chift-a-lee) it is used in a lot of traditional songs and some Albanian artist now are adding them into more modern music! 🇦🇱
Albania ~ so many beautiful friendly people, awesome scenaries, delicious food and many more adventurous things to discover there. A country to visit soon.
I am also speechless, wow ! omg! the lady running the cute shop really know how to pick suitable model for the traditional clothings in her collection.. IVANA ! so so beautiful and the coat with the hat was so matching .. sorry Steve, Ivana wins in this round of modelling at dressing up.. The byrek looks so generous quality fillings and very affordable meal after conversion to Malaysian Ringgit.. hmmm if food affordable, nice clean beautiful streets, pedestrian friendly, lots affordable side walk cafes for good coffee, chill out, snack, meals , good weather...safe to walk around..non hostile people..
Albania looks like a cool place to travel around. Into the bucket list you go. P/s: happy to see Ivana smiling again. Bully is not welcomed here. And as usual, she's studied everything about Albania. Am impressed.
Shop owner was so nice!! Ivana you looked great in that outfit. Nice shirt Steve. Food looks delicious. Love your smiles. Keep safe, healthy and happy.
This is a very interesting part of Tirana.I would happily walk around all day here. Byrek makes me think of our Murtabak. That Tre Leche dessert is like a cross between Caramel pudding and Tiramisu. My kinda guilty pleasure.
The woman in the gift/clothing store was really sweet. It looks like you're both having a lot of fun in Albania. Ivana, you looked beautiful in the outfit you were modeling for Steve and us as well. It must have been awesome to be in her tailoring shop.
Woah, interesting content. There are so many things/ souvenirs at that shop and l could have spent hours there, browsing around. Great of you ,Steve, to buy jersey from each country that you have travelled....an amazing collection. Ivana, you look gorgeous in that outfit, lovely photoshoots with those super sweet smile of yours. Byrek and trilece look yum yum yum. Enjoyed watching this vlog 👍💪❤️
Chilling & trying out local delights in the neighbourhood . Buying a football jersey in a souvenir shop, never thought of that before. I will opt for red jersey. The souvenir shop looks cool with many trickets....Stay Safe, happy exploring
Hi Steve and Ivana. Glad you are back with the video. The dress looks good on Ivana and the red jersey looks good on Steve too. The shop lady is so cute and lovely. The desserts are cheap! Less than 4 dollars!!.
wow perfect choice of color for that jersey Steve, you look good!! and Masha ALLAH Ivana you look like a doll in that traditional Albanian outfit it suits you so well!! Masha ALLAH handsome couple..May God keep you smiling and happy together always Ameen. I would suggest a photo shoot in Traditional Albanian Wedding dress just like you guys did in Pakistan..
We have had what the locals call "Burek" in Slovenia, it's like filo pastry stuffed with Cheese or minced beef. In Slovenia most that we found were like very long spirals of layered filo pastry rolled from the centre. It's delicious. Lots of nice touristy handicrafts in that shop and the shopkeeper was very good at selling and very jolly. The cheese Byrek looked to be cooked a little more than the other one. Trilece is 3 milk cake.
Borek is amazing! Crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside! In Turkey, they have it too. Has all kinds of fillings..meat, spinach, cheese, and potatoes!!! As far as I know they have it in other countries in the middle east too! Enjoy you two!!! Albania sounds like a wonderful country to visit!
Hahahaha love your energy!!!!! You are like the official cheerleader of Albania! Honestly can’t wait to move there next month! Love your videos and energy! Soooo positive! Just love it!!!!!!
Byrek has to be eaten with "Dhallë"😫 Ivana looked like a princess with that black dress And the spinach thingy that you ate at the same time with meat byrek is called "pispili" i think
Wow that meat byrek looks real good! It really does look like a meat and pasta lasagna lol! Sometimes you come across foods that when you look at it, you just KNOW it's delicious!
@@jasonsong6747 It was 50 cents 15 years ago when I was a kid, it still is 70 cents but the street he is on is in an expensive area of town, hence the prices are more.
The name of the quiche like food is PISPILIT or SHAPKAT! It is made with cornmeal and greens like: spinach, leeks and other wild greens. These are mixed with feta cheese and eggs and the mixture is then pored over a thin layer of the polenta like cornmeal mixed with hot water and salt. After the filling then it is covered with another layer of the cornmeal and baked in the oven. I actually prefer this better then byrek as it is much less work as you do not have to roll the dough into paper thin sheets.
I have been to Albania 7 times and only found one place in Tirana that had good byrek. To bad that it closed, Korçë has a few. Pogradec has good paçe. Different areas have different styles but what you eat outside is nothing like what is cooked in the home
Steve you are right the dress in the window did look like what the Sufi darvesh wear. It seems that Albania is not much different to Turkey. Ivana looks lovely in that outfit. It really suited her, and the hat too
The people in the shops in Albania were lovely. We had to use hand signals alot as they cannot speak English. But they understand you anyway they so good in that way. Bless
