Those kids, once they’re grown, will always remember and talk about taking care of Peach and Daisy. The lessons they’ve learned will carry over to so many aspects of their lives and careers.
OMG WE NEED MORE TEACHERS LIKE YOU! ❤ Showing and teaching kids how to care and love another being teaches them so much more than just feeding and watering. It teaches empathy, responsibility, & compassion. All kids should be able to be raised with an animal. Animals are the greatest gift we have on this planet, along with family! ❤
What a wonderful teacher you are!! First for just allowing this to start in your classroom...you have allowed the children in your class to have an experience that will stay with them forever ❤ I wish other teachers would recognize this as a different kind of learning experience and do something similar!!
These precious fluff bunnies survived and thrived because of you and your good-hearted, compassionate kindness. Not only do we need more teachers like you, we need more people like you. Thank you for being who you are and for these beautiful bunnies 💗🙏🏼❤🐇🐇💗
What a fabulous outreach for teaching children to respect and take care of life! Huge blessings to this teacher! Always rescue, foster, adopt, donate! 🐾🐾💕
I'm glad these babies survived because neither she nor her vet seem to know much about rabbit moms and babies. Mom didnt reject them. Rabbits, wild and domestic, don't stay on the nest and nurse the babies on demand like dogs and cats. They only nurse once or twice every 24 hours, and often this is at night. Then they leave them to avoid drawing attention to them. (Deer and other prey animals do something similar.). They didnt fall out of the nest because they were hungry. They rolled out unintentionally because the nest was disrupted, probably because it had been moved. (Rabbit breeders provide expectant moms with a nest box to avoid this very thing.) Moving them so soon after birth was also risky. (Where were her student's parents during all this?) I'd have given them a week. These babies looked to be 24-48 hours old. I volunteered at a shelter taking care of the rabbits for years. We had the occasional accidental litter and many times I had to convince the staff not to remove the babies and try to hand-rear them because the mom was "neglecting" them. Never once saw a mother rabbit actually reject a litter in the decade plus that I was there. Like I said I'm glad it all worked out for the best but she misread the situation.
I don't know much about rabbits but immediately thought her reading of the situation sounded weird. Even cats leave the babies alone for periods of time.
i agree! i imagine they got the colostrum but i would still think they'd be better off getting as much milk from their mom's body as possible. i'd just worry about them getting enough antibodies and important things from her in that short period of time. also i hope they have LOTS of room to stretch their legs in that classroom. she must really trust her students, too. 😬 let's just say there's absolutely no way i'd let like 30 different kids have access to my bunnies and risk one of them accidentally harm them. some kids don't know how to be quiet and gentle, which isn't a crime, but i wouldn't subject bunnies to a SCHOOL setting. it feels kinda like a disaster waiting to happen
Seeing them together side by side with all their fur is So Cute & Adorable! It's GREAT how the students are learning Hands On to take care of them! It teaches them how to be responsible for a Living Creature! GREAT Story From The DoDo! ❤️❤️❤❤️❤️
Man early childhood education teachers are just cut of a different cloth. Being an ESL teacher I know how hard it is to teach, well, anyhthing. To teach compassion and love to young kids is just next level amazing. Kudos!
My youngest son's best friend in school helped us with a horribly emaciated puppy. He was so inspired that after high school he went in the Air National Guard and now is a nurse.
The are so cute but I can almost garentee that she rejected them because of the stress of the new owner and then moved again to a room full of people. It all equals STRESS!
One of the best things you can do for children is to get them a pet. The life-skills you learn while taking care of a pet are invaluable: compassion, patience, accountability, and most of all, love + respect for ALL living beings! High-five to this incredible teacher, I hope she realises what a great example she sets for these kids. 💖🙌🏆
That's cool how the teacher is not only looking after the bunnies herself, but also teaching her students how to take care of them in the process, and how to take care of animals, too.
What a brilliant, beautiful, compassionate person! The perfect combination of qualities to make an excellent teacher. These students will carry memories of you long after their childhoods have ended. ❤
As a bun mom thank you so much for sharing this story! This story is so wonderful and kind and wish more people would see the joy and love bunnies bring!❤❤❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🐰🐰🐰
As a former and future bunny mama thank you for taking such great care of these smart super cute fluff balls. Teachers are really something special in so many ways that transcends teaching and it's caring so thank you❤💖💖💖💖. Your students showing empathy and helping as well is the icing on the cake😊.
Just The Cutest Bunnies EVER!! They Come Into This World Like Little Pink Balls And They Develop Ti These Fluffy Furry Sweet Looking Rabbits!! Just Absolutely Fabulous!! Thank You!!
A mother rabbit only feeds her babies once or twice a day. She doesn't tend to them often like other animals do. You just thought she wasn't feeding them. These babies just needed a better bed that they couldn't wiggle out of. I guess it all turned out ok though. Cute bunnies! ❤
Having animals in the classroom is such a wonderful experience for the students. 8 years ago my son’s kindergarten teacher got a grant to have a classroom pet(s) and she adopted two baby Guinea pigs. My son was totally enamoured by them and would spend most of his free play time with them. She also used some of the grant money to buy an egg incubator because a local farm offered a school program where they would provide the eggs & take the chicks back once they were hatched. The amazement of the kids seeing the eggs hatching was such a precious moment. I actually work at the school so I have had the opportunity each year to see another group of kids experience the joy of having animals in their classroom. And since that first year she has added in even more animals experiences, the Guinea Pigs were replaced with a Bunny (who has the run of the whole classroom) and each spring they raise butterflies, frogs and chicks. Last year she added ducklings as well and they were a hit! Watching them splash around in the water was so fun 😊 At the end of the school year they visit the farm where the chickens and ducks will live and learn about shearing sheep, get to milk a goat, ride ponies and play right inside the pen with piglets, baby goats, bunnies, ducks & chickens and in a different barn they can play with baby chicks and ducklings, kittens and occasionally puppies too. There is also a hayride into the field to see the cows and they sometimes get the opportunity to feed a calf a bottle. Each and every kid should have an opportunity like this.
YAAAAYYYY!!!! I am so glad she kept the bunnies and they are now part of her classroom @ school. This was a wonderful video!💕🐇💕🐇The way her dog looked @ the bunnies with such care and concern melted my heart. (0:38)
Very very cute bunnies need lots of space so if they aren’t allowed to free range for a few hours a day I would I definitely look into a new bigger enclosure especially for two rabbits.
Wonderful experience, both for the teacher and the kids. And they didn’t merely “…somehow survive;” they survived because of her, the teacher who nurtured them, which is what allowed them to thrive.
I've been raising rabbits for decades, they got extremely lucky. Baby rabbit kits need the enzymes from the mothers stringy stool added to the milk, in order for the baby's gut to process roughage/ hay and such. If the mother rejects the kit/s goat's milk mixed w/ a bit of mom's stringy stool does the job ever time, also don't forget to latrine the kits after feeding.
Siamese little bunnies, so cute, I love the coloring on both Peach and Daisy. I have had Siamese cats all my life, and they're so smart and beautiful as well. Well done, everyone.
To this day, I think about my 6th grade biology teacher allowing us to have gerbils and guinea pigs in the classroom to watch over and take care of. We would take turns taking Bugs, the guinea pig, home over the weekends. I LOVED it, made a huge impact on this 56 year old! 🩷
Those kids, once they’re grown, will always remember and talk about taking care of Peach and Daisy. The lessons they’ve learned will carry over to so many aspects of their lives and careers.
I am so glad that this kind, caring, compassionate, dedicated person is an educator.
Me TOO & i Wish i had had a Teacher like Her When i was little

The most brilliant and on hand teaching idea ever.
I absolutely LOVE this!
When children can see and be a part of raising an animal, it does teach them compassion.
And coping strategies. And the possibility of a family and support when they grow older & kids left or spouse passed away.
Those kids are going to remember the care and love shown in that classroom forever. Teaching responsibility and empathy is very important ❤
