Most people are naturally drawn to dogs that appear happy and eager to interact. And that's fine because they need loving homes too. But those that are scared and WITHDRAWN, like Trinity, are usually that way because of the unfortunate events in their life before. Thank you for going the extra mile and giving her the fulfilling life every animal deserves!

💯 When we got our big boy, Freedom, he was very withdrawn and fearful. We don't know the full details, other than he was severely malnourished when he went to the shelter. For the first week, someone sat with him 24 hours a day. After a couple of days, he started wanting to cuddle and get his belly rubbed. Now he is the sweetest dog. He's very gentle with children, loves other dogs, and runs to the door whenever someone touches a set of car keys. Sometimes the dogs that need the most love to fix, are the ones that love you back the hardest
Wonderful story. My family loves fur babies more than most of the people we meet and have our share of dogs and cats

So many people can help. But just as many will continue to do so. It's a vicious circle!!!!

I think the dog in the first video is a Puli. They have natural free forming locks and cannot be brushed, but they still need to be taken care of like peoples locks:) so happy you helped him, my grandpa had Pulis for 30 years and they will always remind me of him❤

I watch this young man and his wife on his channel, Man's Best Friend. They do awesome work grooming animals with badly matted coats in their country on a regular basis, readying them for a happier life!

This reminded me of the dog I had rescued with my husband when we were newlyweds living with my in-laws in Brasil. My father-in-law had mentioned seeing a stray dog around the neighbourhood recently and was trying to lure it with no success. He had to go to a different city for the weekend and told my husband he was worried about it. We decided to take a look around for it ourselves and quickly found it a block away. She was very hesitant of my husband but we managed to herd her down the street and into our yard. We figured we would call the local rescue to come get her but surprisingly after running down the driveway she came right for me and practically leapt into my arms. She was a little black spaniel mix that had obviously had puppies recently and was caked in dirt with matted fur. I was shocked with how immediately she trusted me and relaxed in my lap.
Later that day I brought her into the basement shower and bathed her while she sat in my lap, I had to cut out all the mats and spent an hour brushing her out. She loved every minute of it 😊
When my father-in-law came home two days later she had already learned to “sit” & “shake” and bonded with our other dog. He worriedly asked if we had already called anyone to come get her because it was clear that she was going to be the newest member of the family.
Ruby lived happily with my in-laws for over a decade and even in her old age she still jumped into my arms each time I arrived just like that first day. ❤
(She never jumped on anyone else, just me. Also we searched everywhere for her puppies with no luck. We figured she was abandoned and they kept the puppies)
