- Comparing the OnePlus 10 Pro (global version) vs last year's 9 Pro, to see if the camera tech, gaming performance, battery life and other bits have been upgraded for the 2022 model.
I'm still a fan of the previous generation Pro, which I recently shot a 9 month review for, but the OnePlus 10 Pro does improve the gaming experience. Genshin Impact runs beautifully on top detail settings, helped by the upgraded cooling system. Battery life is also boosted here with a larger cell, with faster charging tech chucked in.
That camera hasn't been improved much sadly, with the OnePlus 10 Pro sporting the same IMX789 primary sensor and telephoto lens. You now have the ability to shoot 10-bit HEIF images, while the Hasselblad Pro mode has also been updated. However, beyond the 150-degree ultra-wide lens and the selfie snapper, there's not much upgrading vs the OnePlus 9 Pro.

I have a OnePlus 9 pro and I got the oxygenOS 12 update months ago. Maybe it's just in your region that the update is being delayed. Because for me it came relatively fast. Honestly, in my opinion even though the oneplus 10 pro has a bigger battery, faster charging and a better selfie camera. That's not enough to sell me to switch to the 10 pro. Because I'm happy with my oneplus 9 pro and don't regret my decision of getting it at all. That's just my opinion.

I am also really happy with my OP9 pro. Specially the 12 update make the phone's camera 📸 amazing.
I got the Oxygen OS 12 on OnePlus 8 last week, so OnePlus 9 Pro should definitely have it, unless it's carrier/region dependent
10 pro has a significantly smaller ultrawide sensor than the 9 pro

There is barely any difference between 2022's flagships and 2021's flagships across all brands. It seems as though most OEMs are playing it safe due to the disruption caused by the pandemic. Hopefully as things get back to normal we will see more innovation.

I’ll keep my OnePlus 9 Pro.. no reason to upgrade. Phones have gotten so good it becoming a waste of time to upgrade every year now. Before it was for the performance to edit videos and play games and shoot good videos. Now every modern flagship does all that no problem.
Ive had a one plus 6 for 4 years now still going strong

I think you are a great reviewer and very fair. I prefer the OnePlus 10 Pro over the Pixel because of better battery life, faster charging, I actually prefer the software, the cpu/GPU is better and I feel the display looks better aside from peak brightness. Brightness isn't everything.
Also if you're a gamer, then for sure OnePlus.
Beautiful display is for those who wants rich video or TH-cam watching experience like my type guys..i think google is acting cheapskate, they want big money and still wont give enough..i know its part quality build but still the price they are asking, they should give some goodies..only good camera dont do justice..

Given current updates and assume they are the price, would you rather get a OnePlus 9 pro or a pixel 6 pro?
My mom phone just broke last week so I'm giving her my 8T which in my opinion still a solid phone i never had any issues with it and battery lasted me easily whole day. I just bought the 10Pro, should be here next week. I never had any interest in Samsung or Apple phones so. Hoping to see at least some upgrades from the 8T

I just received Android 12 update on my OnePlus 9 Pro a couple days ago. Some of the stuff I don't like what they did but for the most part it's all right snd I don't plan on upgrading for a while.

I don't understand why people change phones every fucking year? I have a Xiaomi redmi note 6 pro since first day release and I'm absolutely ok with that (3 and a half years) and now I'm looking forward to buy the OP 9 pro 12gb/256gb for 700-800€ I wanna keep it for 4-5 years to finish my college and then I'll buy a new one

I agree. If your battery can't hold a charge anymore. You can take it somewhere and they'll replace it. Then your phone is good as new again. At least hold on to your phone for 4 years!

Do you think it's a worth upgrade from the OnePlus 8T. The starting price for the 10 pro isn't bad, and after military discount, and trade in, it brings it all the way down to $500. Which makes it even more compelling. But I don't know if i should pull the trigger now, or wait till the end of the year (for better deals). Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Unless your 8T is on it's last legs, better wait for better deals. Or better yet, wait for better devices, since the 8T is what I believe to be the last great Oneplus
The best OnePlus phone was ever made is OnePlus 6 great hardware. I am still using the phone 8/128g version. I just changed the battery which was very easy and i am planning to keep it for next few years. No software support anymore but i can still put lineage os custom ROM which is the best for that phone 😀

Neither. Get the realme Gt 2 pro. £700 and has everything chip and tech wise oneplus 10 and S22 have.

What exactly matters to you? They both have pros and cons.
If you care about
software support
Security and privacy
Cameras
Software features (desktop mode, better multitasking etc)
Brighter screen
Symmetrical bezels
Good third party accessories like cases or magsafe cases
Or Monthly updates, go for Samsung
If you care about
Higher screen quality
Really good speakers
Fast charging
Oxygen os (which looks a lot like vivo software, you either love it or hate it)
Then go for the OnePlus.
As someone who use to be the biggest OnePlus fan, I no longer support them or rock with their phones. I absolutely hate Samsung as a brand but I love my s22 ultra as a phone, especially since the march update and I like it better than my pixel 6 pro. I hope this helps

Considering to change to either of these from my battered OnePlus 7pro. Can’t quite decide as OnePlus 7 pro still looks better and functioning pretty well.
I renewed battery on my 3 y. o. OP 7 Pro and it perfoms crazy fast.
Also I use 9 pro and there is almost no difference between them.
Both of these are almost exactly my 8 pro. OnePlus is killing me. Literally no reason to upgrade with them.
I love the 9 pro it has some serious upgrades. I don't see a great deal of difference in the 10 pro
Isn't it true for all brands? If you got a flagship phone in 2019/2020 there's really no reason to upgrade.
I think that's a good thing, it means no need to upgrade every year because the hardware can keep up. I have a 9 Pro and don't feel I'm missing out. Especially with OS12. I don't mind paying £900 for a phone if it keeps pace for 2-3yrs.

One Plus 5 owner here, 5 years has passed, it still holds up greatly!
I can run all games smoothly (altought with low/medium graphics but with 30/60fps, sometimes if the games are well optimized i can go with ultra settings), user experience never let me down and still perform as new today.
I wish i could get an upgrade in terms of GPU processing power but other than this it still rocks.

The only reason to upgrade in my opinion is: the bigger battery life, camera style on the back and security updates will be at least a year available before upgrading yet again after 9pro becomes obsolete.
If you keep your OP 9 pro in Android 11 the battery it's huge enough upgraded to Android 13 not really good battery life

So you could honestly go either way. I would personally go for the S21 for the smaller form factor, but as a medium- heavy user, the S21 FE is the better buy

Really disappointed that in the US we get only 128 GB of storage and no mmWAVE 5g support. I mean what were they thinking. I could forgive the 8 GB of Ram. They shouldn't call it PRO, then. Vloggers and people that love taking videos, can't use this phone!
This was a surprise to me. You're right. There is no incentive to upgrade from the 9Pro with 256GB to a 10Pro with 128GB.
I have a 7Pro that is almost 3 years old. I need a dual SIM phone and want at least 256GB and good cameras. OP has settled alright.

Heya Chris, I've been doing a lot of research lately for a new phone. I'm planning to buy a new phone for both, me, and my partner. Our budget is 500 euro each. The best pick I could find for that price point is the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5g which is 449 in France. I'm mainly interested in a great camera/video capability to be top notch. Do you know any other phone that can beat this model at this price range? Thank you!

Well mate I have the s22 ultra here in the UK (exynos) and I'm telling ya it's freaking amazing. If you're into photography the expert raw app is amazing to use, the results just keep blowing me away

10 pro 128GB - £800
9 Pro, just ordered for approx £550 (INR 55K). 256gb
Color OS one plus devices has so many issues it's good OnePlus will cut the collaboration OS with oppo instead they'll reach google and stay in color OS which is much better and optimized for OnePlus devices 🌄

Oneplus 10 pro, realme gt2 pro and oppo find x5 pro are flagship of this company. S21 FE and vivo X70 are vanilla versions of flagship series. I would go for Samsung? Why? You will get best display and cameras for that price tag of phones. You will get 4 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates, and it will be monthly updates. Chinese manufacturers laking behind with software updates.

@@raymars6503 I never heard somebody talking about talking about bad battery, I think Smasung doing great optimization. But yeah, SD 888 and 8gen1 are very thirst CPUs. What do you think about getting A52s 5G or new A53 5G? Brilliant batteries, brilliant wide, ultrawide and selfie cameras. Displays are top! Not top CPU but you will not feel it, it is just a gimmick with getting top CPU.
At that point, it really comes down to availability and personal preference. These are all great phones. Most of which are not available in the US lol

So I heard the telephoto lens can't record 4k 60, the wide angle lens no longer has autofocus or a macro mode, and the screen is peak 1300 nits? Usually these things don't matter, but on the simple fact that OnePlus has been such a good hardware company is surprising and unfortunate. At least they're saying they'll be sticking with oxygen os
Is it me or does it really feels like he edited the pictures ? Because I have a OnePlus 7pro and my phone pictures are way more natural than that ! And I saw a video of some other TH-camr as well. It doesn't look that much saturated..

@@armisis try the camera. I'm talking about the actual using of the camera and the quality of the shots taken. Believe me. I'm a photographer. I compared both A11 and A12. A12 is very poor. The submenus don't match on many things. The size of the fonts aren't universal. Try gaming. It's a downgrade in comparison to A11. Your obviously not a power user who cares about these things. A11 is an adults OS. A12 is for kids. That's the comparison I make.
My OnePlus 9 Pro can't bend in half, and my global model is a 12gb one... ill keep it
