Man that’s so sad poor Gary lost everything. That truck was legendary and on top of that he had those vintage bikes and old parts of the truck from its history.
That is one of the most awesome trucks ive ever seen. That was hilarious to see him go from driving straight to turning and kept going!lol Hopefully he can come up with a plan to rebuild. At least he has some support and documentation of all of it. Sorry for your loss Gary.
I left my comment before the video was over. FORD needs to be notified and help out. That was a part of there history too! And BUDWEISER. They should be notified too. This was part of my and so many kids childhood. Life can be so cruel.
Thank you for making the video, you did an amazing job!! I currently live in north central Missouri but I used to live in Lamar Mo in the late 90s. I never got a chance to see the truck in person but always wanted too. Very sad to hear about the fire. Just glad Gary and family are ok.
Gary will cherish the video that you made in the time you spent with him thanks for all that you do to bring these terrific machines and the men that built them back to life. So sorry for the devastating loss caused by this fire
Rob, what an amazing video and Gary Collins is an amazing man. Our hearts break for him with this terrible fire. We wish him well and our prayers go with him. He will treasure your efforts and video of his work🥲. Marjie and Bob Reed
God that is so sad. I'm glad though you got this video. That truck was a fantastic build. Very sad that it's destroyed....I hope maybe he will rebuild.
What a loss, I hope the boss will live once again. But If not we will always have the memories. I'm glad I got a couple new shirts from him and will cherish them.
At a loss for words...... couldn't imagine what was coming at the end of the video 😢... Such pieces of history lost.... atleast Gary is ok, wouldn't care about the truck if he would've been injured in this mishap. Thanks for the work you do, I though I was subbed to your channel, since I really like what you're putting out and also the new videos always pop up on my feed. But now I'm subscribed for sure!
I remember being a little kid in the 80s in Nebraska going to pulls and monster truck shows as my yearly Birthday present . I today have a built car and trucks that were directly influenced by going to these events as a kid .. thank god for stuff like this ❤❤❤
I was so excited that something from the past was as still around cause you always wonder where they went. It’s so sad that it was lost after being saved all those years😢
I watch a lot of the old TNT truck pulling and now your channel is popping up it's awesome the interviews you do and it's good to see the where are they now.....😊😊😊
This was a great video ... Untill the end . So sad the last news is terrible . I was hoping to get news that he was was gonna go rip some shows of some sort. . Breaks my heart
My favorite truck of all pulling trucks. Seen it pull many times in Connecticut. Terrible to hear what has happened. I hope him and his son build another one just like it.
@robguysgarage5422 do you guys remember the bud wiser king, a sled drag truck, was a true 6×6 ,white, Ford f6 or 800 truck ? It pulled the sled up one track, down the other completeling full pulls everytime.
I am reminded of the Alan Jackson song, Drive. "A piece of my child hood will never be forgotten". Thank you Robguy's Garage for getting this documented, especially considering The Boss' unknown future. Very due and timely!
That's a lot of childhood memories that I loved. Alway wanted to be a trucker because of Gray Collins. Now you need to find the Green Monster Pullin Tractor of Art Arfons. Take care
Super cool history video. Saw him several years ago at the Guilty By Association truck show held at Chrome Shop Mafia / 4 States Trucks. Wasn’t able to get real close at the time as it was actually parked at the truck stop. Always enjoyed seeing this in the Pulling Magazine Sorry to hear of the horrible news. Thanks for sharing
There was a guy not too far from where i grew up in Iowa that had a square body gm pulling truck with an Alison v12. I wonder if it's the same one mentioned early in this video... the same guy also built and owned one or two of the pulling sleds that got used around western Iowa. Later on in the 80s, he built a self-propelled sled to eliminate the tow back tractor
Would love to see a picture of that square body, a guy did send me the correct picture of a guy with an Allison and him riding in the bed the other day it was a Ford though, thanks for watching!
@robguysgarage5422 The truck was called the baby bumblebee. I can't think of the guys name though. I was maybe 5-7yrs old when I remember seeing it pulling. He had a shop of some type, my parents and i would go by it on sunday mornings going to church, that truck sat by the shop until the early 80s. The sanctioning body around here in the 80s was the Midwest 2x4 pullers association. Somebody that pulled in the 70s-80s may have pictures and/or pictures of the sleds
There was a turbine powered tractor many years ago driven by a man by the name of art arfonz ( i hope the spelling is right) but that thing was awesome theyd shut down the lights in the stadium and hed light that thing up it was so cool man see if u can find that one sometime
I was just asking you about the lil kw and here she is. I seen the lil kw, orange blossom special and big foot 1 and 2 at the old busch stadium in the early 80's and remember it like it was yesterday.

This is the first of your videos I have seen and these are enjoyable. Thank you for your work, and most of all think of Mr Collins and his shop loss.
It's my pleasure, it's so much fun to hear the stories of these guys, I just feel bad for Gary

Thanks so much, but so glad we got this video at that time, I feel so bad for Gary, thanks for watching!
Thank you for this. Gary, thank you for being you!!! I grew up watching you all drag that sled. The memories had me crying. Again thank you!!! Both.
