Hey @IffySignals…bought this DS2 about a month ago, very little time on it (6’3” tall and waiting on the middle and lower extended shafts to come). Anyhow, any software update to this DS2 so far? Not even sure what version to look for if it even prompts on startup on the screen. Thx

Nokta, Dilek, and the manufacturers are second to none! They must be the most competitive in the hobby? Their customer service have always been there for their customers and respond. One thing stands out for the price of the Legend, and now the Double Score one must consider the price when factoring all relevant issues where is the margin for a metal detector priced at the Legend, and now the Double Score and others that are priced approximately (4) four times more? Their ability to respond to the customers' requests is totally unreal and they must be commended. I will continue to follow their line and most likely I will purchase the Double Score in the early part of 2024. You have done a good job demonstrating the metal detector as you always do. Geez, I'm glad I didn't buy a manticore! The performance they put into this machine is really amazing. They're setting the bar really high really quick for this mid-level machine market and it's very impressive. Going to have Minelab burning the midnight oil for sure with this one.

For the average relic hunter like myself, this detector might be all you need. An update on tones and this might be a Legend killer.
Dont let them hear you say that “legend killer” then they wont add them 😆. I agree. I would like to see a 60 tone added and an iron volume adjustment.

What stability? This detector like all Nokta detectors are very chattery! I dont like that, low-medium turkish detectors.
Allot if people love them.. most importantly they keep everyone else’s (competition) prices down as well. 😉

Thank you. How does it do with small high karat gold? Thin gold chains? And then there is the EMI thingy? And then the heavy black sand thingy? Mixed with salt water?
Its does really good on the beach, nice and stable, gold is good, even being multi frequency small thin gold is tough for any machine, unless its a high freq gold specific machine.

No, performance is there with the Legend but the Legend can be opened up a little more and has allot more tone options. The Double Score (although impressive) does not have any tone options.

A very useful tool indeed! Nothing pleases me more than observing a proper tester using his, or her, in-dirt test patch, especially if targets have iron around them at varying planes and density. A wee while back, an American tester; Todd Brown aka scannerguy1968 uploaded excellent in-dirt 'test patch' videos, his testing was top-drawer, so too is yours Mike. An established in-dirt test patch, with numerous, sensible, replications of real-world scenarios, where vdi numbers skit and drop out, is a treasure trove in itself, in my op. Seeing and hearing is believing, so many great learnings for new-comers and old-timers alike. Top man☝.

You need to wrap that coil cable around the shaft better because you risk getting false signals the way you have it.

Come on man, Iffy knows how to use a machine. He wouldn't use a loose cable while hunting in high grass and grown vegetation where the bumps can move the cable. He's just making tests. If the cable don't move, it won't make the detector false.

Im sure it gives up some due to the amount you can open up the Legend and the tone options. The Legend is very customizable so you can make it your own. That alone will give you the edge. This Double Score has the performance but you are limited on what you can modify to make your own.

The Legend promotion ends at the end of the year. This is between the simplex and the Legend. Performance is there with the Legend but allot less features.
@IffySignals my fear is they crank them out faster then cell phones get updated and when do you buy or should you wait. I'm on the fence with the Legend just because I don't know what I don't know. I have waited this long and they revised it already but seems to be weird on the id of coins using the 60 scale plus when watching videos doesn't seem to hold the id any better then the Simplex+ but I just go by sound watch how the numbers jump and switch between modes on iffy signals " see what I did there"

Would this be a decent upgrade from the simplex plus, as considering getting a new coil for it or this or the simplex ultra, really want to go for the legend but that’s a bit too pricey tbh, any other detector recommendations for around £500
Double Score is a great choice or the ML Xterra.

Too many updates with nokta machine that's what put me off
How can updates be a turn off? They add things or fix/adjust some stuff to make it better after being used by people. It's a positive thing, not a negative one. Unless you are an older person and not really fan or comfortable with computers and can feel intimidated by the actual updates, I don't see how improvement can be seen as negative.
@jimmyberubelevesque2557 I suffer with depression and anxiety so I don't have pc 🙃 so for me having a nokta that needs updating all the time is big problem for me so I went with minelab equinox and before that garrett
In my opinion i would rather have updates with improvements based on customer feedback than buy a new machine like the AT Pro days. My iPhone updates every two weeks haha. Depression is a battle though. Good luck! 👍
@IffySignals that why I went with minelab equinox no updates need machine got everything I need to find cool stuff. Thanks everyday a battle with depression 😢 on a good note I've got nokta accupoint and defo nice pinpointer 👍 only problem I've had is nearly loosing tip after getting stuck in mud 😀
