I saw this on TikTok and came to watch the video and I'm shocked at how little views this has????? Tarrare is terrifying, but like my empathy says "bro imagine being hungry ALL. THE. TIME. it'd suck" also like I can't imagine how strange and lonely it would be to have people literally not be able to be around him. and he would have known that he was weird and strange.
Am I the only person that feels terrible for him? There are cases where ppl are stranded together and starve, and end up killing and eating each other. He felt that way constantly. It wouldn’t take long to drive someone insane. And on top of that he was abandoned by his parents bc of his condition and constantly ostracized. His life was only suffering :( (not that it excuses eating a baby ofc)

I can get that besides trying to find whatever food he could he might have tried the blood etc in a desperate attempt to find anything that would satiate him y'know. Like Bella in twilight where she's starving no matter what cause she actually needs blood but like somehow even worse. The smell, his hunger, the body he as born with etc is not his fault at all and I can see that side as well as an outsider looking in like "????!tf this is horrifying". But he was a person, with an illness that he had no control over. And I definitely get it breakjng you mentally over time. But the way he went about some things were just very wrong and unnecessary..

Being hungry all the time has to be psychologically damaging plus being completely abandoned by his parents and ostracized by his community. I feel like by the time the baby thing happened he had to have been totally insane. I don't feel bad for him but I don't think he did these things bc he was simply born a "monster" so I do feel some level of empathy.

After listening to true crime for years it was starting to feel like I was hearing about the same criminals all the time, and it's, I don't want to say nice, but refreshing? To hear about someone other than the classic serial killers we all know and hate. Surely it's helping more than just me, learn just how to be aware of our surroundings and red flag behaviors. Again, amazing series, and could even potentially be kind of therapeutic in some circumstances? But also I'd hate for anyone to go into it blind if those topics are legitimately triggering

Maybe you're not aware, but that story about the girl and guy has been going around forever. It's basically an urban legend at this point. There's no actual evidence it's happened. Hopefully that helps your phobia a bit!😂

I'm trying to push away the mental image of what that child's last moments must have been like😭 like I've talked to people who had memories from around that age. And even for him a 14 month old would be too big to swallow whole. Oh god

I mean yeah the story is interesting, but I just can't believe it until I find a solid source for each claim ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think it's much much more likely the stories got exaggerated in the centuries since then. From what I've found I think yeah he existed, but was probably just suffering from at least one medical condition and couldn't get proper treatment from doctors so he ended up resorting to extreme lengths to try and ease his symptoms. Extreme like eating garbage and willingly being experimented on, but not extreme like eating love cats, dogs, and babies.
Did they like.. check... to see if he ate the baby though? Like... was he walking around with a baby shaped lump on his stomach, kind of like the world's fleshiest mech-suit?
