Andy I would like to thank you for this review. I took your recommendation to heart to purchase this IEM Hidiz MP145. and the Shanling U4. Now I enjoy music to a different level . Listening to Death, Black, Thrash, Hair metal as well as Jazz , classical and opera has never been so ecstatic. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! Wishing you all the best !!!
The reason I follow Andy's recommendations is that I have never, been disappointed with them. MP145 is a case in point. I had high expectations after this review and the iem has exceeded then. It is simply sumptuous . Thanks again Andy.
Just received my mp145. Using default rosepink tuning filter, balance eartip & Sd2 DAC 3.5. first impression is like wow \w/ omg ,kinda unbelievably good. Yr reviews is really awesome n seriously for the 2nd batch thingee, I can't even bother . Just like what yr advise is. Just swop the filter, end of story. It's such a pair awesome IEM . No regret buying it seriously ❤
The best audio review channel hands down. Amazing work, Andy! After I watched your review I bought these along with the Hidizs S9 Pro Martha and I have no regrets they sound incredible and they’re now my daily drivers. Thank you!
First, you convinced me to purchase the final A5000, and it has become my daily driver. I resisted buying the MP145, but I succumbed to temptation😅 and received it last night. The sound quality is impressive.
Hi Andy! I bought the mp145 after your review. You did a great review as always. Excellent analogue - Speed Demon. This is the second product I buy based on your recommendation. The first one was FC4. Thanks for your work.
I agree ! They're phenomenal 😮 I'm a professional musician so I know how the sound is in real life... And this set is really great (planar is a game changer for the sound, timbre, speed...) They sound like a mini Audeze to me. (I have the excellent Audeze MM-100 EQ with Oratory) so thanks for the comparison with the Shure. that says a lot about sound quality... I also fine the tuning very good exept the uper mids which are too far forward. But with the red nozzles and the voice tips, I find this the closest setting to a neutral sound so far (and without losing resolution, at least to my ears) Thanks for this review 🙏😎👍
Hi Andy, I want to say thank you for your wonderfull and good reviews. I received my MP145 today. Im using with a cayin ru7 and cayin ha-3a and I've to say this cheap thing is mindblowing. Cheaper then the chopin Inears and sounds much better for me! Im using custom foam tips.
I have mp145 coming next week. Is my btr15 dac sufficient for this iem? Btw. I love your reviews. Thanks for sharing your experience. Love watching your videos as I am a newbie in this audiophile world. New subscriber here!
No worries, BTR15 is actually the best to pair with MP145, so you are all set. Just that I highly recommend you use the 4.4mm BAL side of it to get maximum results
Great review! I second that comment about sound, you should get a better mic, because this review is the best I've seen in a while and the bad sound doesn't match up with the superb quality content. Thanx for a great and very informative review!
Thanks Andy for great reviews, after watching your videos I bought DC04Pro and Simgot EW200 and I’m so much happy with my purchase. Now I’m thinking of getting these IEMs, will it worth it buying MP145 over Simgot EW-200. How much difference I can expect in MP145 👀
Thanks. If you already love EW200, MP145 present substantial improvements on all areas of what EW200 has. On top of being highly tuneable, MP145 is the best magnetic planar IEMs I have tried since 2020. For example, when handling complex composition of music like multi layered orchestra by Vivaldi, or highly complex Sinne Eeg Jazz, you will hear how much better MP145 handles the transient speed for articulate separation and imaging. Hope this helps
Hello good sir! I've been watching your reviews lately since i'm getting new IEM. i've stumbled upon B3 -> Truthear Nova -> And now MP145 (actually there are more because i'm kinda overwhelmed...) Is there any recommendations you can give me? I mainly use IEM for pop/accoustic and little EDM + Rock (actually i listen a lot but these genre is my daily dose 😂) i prefer bass but okay with treble (as long as it's not too much) Thank you so muchh, you really helped me because i gain a lot of information from your videos :D
For your type of music and preferences, then I would say Truthear Nova would suit you best, it has richer Bass density than B3 or MP145 and has great control of Treble too
I'm changing from Sony Linkbuds (it's the only device i have right now) to IEM... The battery is dying 😢so i'm trying to get myself a new IEM Thank yoouu so much for the feedbackk :D have a great ahead sir ☀️
Dammit, Andy! I am going to have to eat canned chicken lips for the next three years in order to keep up with my new iem habit! 😂 This set truly sounds like it’s one for the ages. Thx for all your good work. 🙏✌🏽♥️🇨🇦
Kudos to you, Andy! With your honest review and in-depth coverage, I bought my first IEM and dongle DAC: Tanchjim Zero & iBasso DC03 Pro. I am enjoying them greatly! I haven't had a chance to audition any planar magnetics so I hope to seek your advice - what major differences would I notice from my single dynamic driver IEM? Which dongle DAC pairs well with the MP145? Lastly, is there a stark difference between unbalanced and balanced option? My music of choice varies: ballads, jazz, pop and live recordings. I prefer a more neutral|balanced sound signature IEM. I appreciate your opinion and thanks again for igniting the fire in my audiophile journey!
Thanks Ryan. The main difference between a DD and Planar is the transient speed at which planar are natively faster (more potential for more resolution). Only well-tuned DD can match a planar speed for speed. Then there's the timbre of which it is hard to explain unless you spend time with it because not everyone will be able to adapt to the technical nature of planars (which you may find them often describing planars as having planar timbre, LOL!). Ultimately that subject will depend on taste and preferences. To me I like to be open and accept each different driver tech for what they offer. MP145, if you ask me sounds the best with the likes of HIBY FC6 or CEntrance DACport HD, since you didn't mention budget constraints. Otherwise, your iBasso DC03Pro will already be one of the best to pair with it, but if you want a bit more of uncolored presentation with wider headroom, iBasso DC04Pro or RU7 has it in spades. Then the significance of 3.5mm SE to 4.4mm BAL is not in the plug itself, but in the DAC/Amps that you use. In this review you can see clearly, I use Burson Audio Playmate 2 which is a 3.5mm SE only DAC/Amp and that thing is about the most beautiful sounding desktop DAC/Amp I have listened to so far. So, if you have a DAC that has 4.4mm and 3.5mm SE, then use 4.4mm option (because they normally offer their 100% from the 4.4mm BAL, and 50% reduced output from the 3.5mm SE), otherwise on 3.5mm only system like FC6 and DACport HD, both my all-time No.1 among many). Hope this helps.
Easy. Final Audio A5000 is small and running on 16 Ohm, so it is more efficient than MP145. Both shares similar sound, perhaps A5000 a bit stronger with the V sound curve
Thanks for review! Which one you preffer the most as more crisper & wider soundstage between those and Tangzu x HBB Wu Heyday Edition? Wanna buy one for life as my 1st and only IEM. Thanks!
Thanks. Between those two, very closely matched but I will give it to MP145 for being a bit more on soundstage width, crisp imaging are practically equal on both
Awesome review here. Could you help me with a purchase decision? Currently using the T3+ and quite enjoying it but would like to have an upgrade. My preferences: - forward and engaging vocal - treble not piercing or shouty - high quality bass - similar or higher quantity of bass as T3+, not a basshead though, just a bass enjoyer - overall better technicality than T3+ Genres: R&b, soul, Indie bedroom pop, hiphop I've also tried: - Moondrop Chu: Too flat and the bass is too low for me - Zero: RED (with the bass boost adapter): Better bass and less forward vocal than T3+. Overall not enough of an upgrade over T3+ for me These are what I'm considering: - Hidizs MP145 - TANGZU x HBB Wu Heyday - Tripowin x HBB Olina SE - Ikko OH10 - Truthear Nova Ignoring the price difference, which IEM do you think best matches my preferences in overall? Or do you have better recommendations? Thanks
From what you described there of your needs, I think moving from T3+ would be Gizaudio Galileo, closer match to your preferences than any of the IEMs you listed. I love both MP145 and Heyday but since you mentioned you may be sensitive to energetic Treble, best not to risk that with magnetic planar speedy dynamic transients which many has regarded as "brighter", especially if the person is so very well versed with single DD safe tuning (T3+ is safe tuned). But if you want to spend a bit more then SIVGA Nightingale is what I would recommend the foremost, the smoothest organic sounding planars I have tried ever with rich Mids presentation and texture, also not forgetting airy decays
@@AndyAudioVault Thanks for the detailed reply, I probably won't go for the Sivga for now due to budget issue, but I'd like to add some more contexts here regarding Galileo. Another reason why I enjoy the T3+ is the slight v-shape 'fun' tuning with decent quantity of bass and forward vocal. I watched and read some Galileo reviews and saw quite a few people think that the bass lacks in quantity, punchiness, authority, and just the overall performance and 'fun' factor. Some said that it sounds restrained or even straightup boring. I compare its FR graph with the less bassy options on my list (Heyday & Olina SE), while they graph similarly in terms of bass quantity, people don't share the same negative sentiment about their bass seemingly because they still have very high bass performance compared to the Galileo. It also graphs similarly to the Hexa which lots of people said would be too neutral to me. I'm not a basshead but I'm still a bass enjoyer so I would still want somewhat fun and engaging bass, at least similar quantity to the T3+, not like the Chu. About the treble sensitivity, I think I'm probably fine as long as it's not an IEM known for this issue such as the S12 Pro. I probably have lots of misconceptions here which I hope you would clear up for me. Do you think I would find the Galileo not 'fun' and engaging enough or would you still recommend it?
@@lyh01It's hard for me to imagine what you will like, that's why we have so many options to satisfy different needs and preferences, if you don't think S12 Pro is bright then definitely Hidizs MP145 is the one I would wholeheartedly recommend, that is one set hard to find fault, at least from my perspective, MP145 would make Galileo sounded meek in comparison, assuming you would assume Galileo being "not exciting" without actually trying it, you would be surprised what people perceive nowadays, I even heard some people describe BLON BL03 being bright, imagine my surprise
@residentzero If BL03 is the type of sound you like than I am afraid you will dislike all other top IEMs, you even call EW200 sibilant which is so smooth to many others. So best to stick with BL03 because there's no other IEM as slow and warm as BL03 with that thick coloration and rolled off extensions on upper frequency, You even call Aria Dull so it means you will also dislike Harman U curve of which 90% of new IEMs are based on today
@residentzero I don't think you will like MP145, as it seems you consider sparkly and airy highs to be sibilant, if you can't stand EW200, then it will be worse with MP145
Are you going to get the HiSenior Mega5 EST? I'm curious as to how the MP145 would stand up to it. I bought the MP145 based on this review and your chart. I love the sound and adjustability but the size is a little fatiguing on my ears, I have to adjust it every now and then for hours of listening. Although they aren't that uncomfortable because I have fallen asleep with them on.
Oso to say from a non audiophile background, just a metal music lover. And first time using a IEM. The sound from this mp145 compare to xm5 wireless (oso my fav) is like the sound of wood rather than electronics. Say eg. Bass guitar. Just a 20c imho. \w/
Andy!!! Another great review. If I ever get my health I really wish to travel and have a cup of coffee at the shop. It would be an honor.Maybe visit Chris and Giz and even Crin. I would be allowed to take a trip and bring a health aide with me of some type. But listen I have a favorite ask. I've been trying to install ttgk station on several Android phones, tablet, etc. I went to szttgk and then tried a version 1.61 from some sort of an app store. I got it to install but to upgrade it so that it shows versions of what you're using it won't let me upgrade. Basically what I'm asking is can you give me a walkthrough or to give me directions where I can read how to do it. It would be extremely appreciated my friend!!! I wish you and the boys the best!!! Be good to each other as you obviously are and stay healthy my friend take care BigErik
First of all, I wish the best of health for you Erik. If the opportunity permits, allow me to buy you a coffee at Ben's cafe if you will be visiting Malaysia. Now on TTGK, to my knowledge it is supposed to be something that need to be installed manually using an APK. I have one that I have been sharing on my Google drive and perhaps you can try that one. You will need to specifically allow an "unknown" APK to run on your Android phone or else the installation will never happen. Once you have that instance successfully installed, TTGK can update itself the moment you load it up, there will be a prompt. Get it here: drive.google.com/file/d/1UirFc1sHtUPwXPPbT5qHG9a0S3o2d0xo/view?usp=drive_link.
Hey buddy you're the best!!! I haven't tried it but I had to obviously uninstall the version I had to install yours but everything went smooth. I'm a bit of a geek too like when I watch your reviews I'm looking at your computer behind you I saw you were running a 4090. But yeah I do fire sticks and build headphones, gaming computers and you know all that crazy stuff that we love. If my health does get better I have money in a a trust for certain things and I was told I could take a trip and I was actually thinking of like a Singapore maybe Japan Malaysia. And maybe visit with all the awesome people in this hobby. I love to check out Shenzhen also. I'm not sure if you remember I'm the guy that tried to tell people that if they didn't realize who you were you were basically the God of dacs as far as I'm concerned. And I mean that in the utmost respectful way your work is just spectacular!!!. And don't get me wrong I love your earphone reviews too.I've actually bought a couple of models specifically on your recommendation. I have them haven't had a chance to listen to him just working on my health issues. I also really enjoy the camaraderie between you and your friends when the opportunity presents itself in one of your reviews. The respect level is just awesome and the true friendship. I love different aspects of different cultures. Anyhow I shouldn't be doing this sorry about that. I'll let you know how things go and thank you so much you the bomb!!! Keep on keeping on my friend!! All my best please stay healthy The world's getting crazy. Please stay safe. Big Erik PS and I also have no problem paying for the upgrade if the opportunity presents itself meaning the TTGK. I'll let you know TTYL E
In terms of rating on magnetic planar IEMs , with your new rating system how much would you rate the Celest Pandamon since it was also one of your recommendations for best IEMs 2022 Mr. Andy?
Hi Andy. What is your favorite planar for black/death metal and all extreme metal? I had timeless but it sounded too thin for me and im looking something else now. Any recommendations?
My listening preferences can be different from you, and that's normal because that's the nature of human biology affected by individual sensitivity, also a matter of taste and preferences. If you find Timeless thin, then you need something denser and more colored, something like Tangzu Zetian Wu (Purple) or Letshuoer Z12 (not S12). They offer thick sound notes. The ones I use personally for Metal music now is Hidizs MP145 but may not work for you because it is closer to neutral territory
Hello andy..i am following your videos from long time...they very detailed.i am using orivedi OD200..i like upgrade my iems.. should go with final audio a5000 or hidizMp145...my dac is IBASSO DCO4PRO
I've been thinking of getting this one, but I already have a magnetic planar IEM (kz pr2) and tanchjim kara otw next week. In your opinion would I notice a big difference between this and the tanchjim kara? or should I just save my money for now and wait for future IEM announcements?
You already have an amazing KARA incoming so I would recommend that you spend time on KARA first to appreciate the sound it offers. The tuning of KARA is slightly different from the more energetic MP145 and since you already have PR2, that would suffice to keep you entertained now. When you are ready to step up from PR2, MP145 is what I would recommend because MP145 appeal being the airy speedy transients and overall balance which I like a lot. KARA on the other hand is a very smooth operator that has equally great balance too. So you are not losing anything here by not getting both at the same time
Hi Andy, I just got this iem based on your review. Now I am looking for a dongle which can perfectly match with this iem. Can you recommend some dongles? I don't mind if it is high-end dongle. Thanks for your time :)
There's two that I would recommend if you don't have budget limit. Choice No.1 will be HIBY FC6 and then Aune Yuki. FC offers the richest sound with top notch resolution, Yuki on the other hand gives wide open soundstage with lots of air, just slightly less dense with texture as compared to FC6, but any way I look at it both are the very best for MP145. If you need a bit of versatility, FiiO BTR15 is what I use regularly too and what I would recommend
Seems like I will pick fc6 but the most thing bothering me is the 3.5mm jack on fc6. Have you check fc6 with hifiman sundara or sennheiser hd600. Can fc6 be able to drive these headphones?
@@HuyNguyen-nf6qf Check my review on FC6 and you will find the answers there. There's a good reason it is No.1 dongle of over 157 dongles I ever owned and tested
Reviews sound exciting...when to test it out at local dealer...still prefer klanar. Maybe cos I listen to Chinese sentimental songs mainly...no speed required. Klanar sound more engaging for the genre of songs for me. Both powered by ru6.
I no longer have RU6 with me as it was given away for #donglemadness 2nd Anniversary. But I am confident that RU6 has the juice and synergy to shine with PD145
Good day Andy, which do you think has the better combo for this Hidizs mp145? Ibasso dc04 or fiio Ka13 or would the fiio ka11 can do the job done? I'm just using my phone for source. Thanks!
DC04Pro (4.4mm BAL, Slow Filter) would suit MP145 more. But in all fairness KA11 and KA13 does good job too with MP145 since it is such a versatile IEM. DC04Pro offers a bit more air and openness and resolution too
Thanks, I am now using UA4 on Wan'er. And looking for an IEM upgrade, budget around USD150. Any recommendation? The other consideration I am eyeing on is Sliivo Sl41, is this going to work well with UA4?
Hello Andy. Due to some shipping conflicts, the JCALLY JM6 Pro DAC will be unavailable for indefinite period with our local seller. Now, the only available budget DAC dongle he has are: JCALLY JM25, JCALLY JM45 & JCALLY JM9. Can you Please suggest which to choose that has both DAC and AMP function with over 1.6Vrms of juice just like JM6 Pro?
It is not that recessed. I was comparing it with the likes of Etymotic ER series as well as Shure KSE1500 which has bold Midrange, but what MP145 offers is pretty much similar to most other V tuned IEMs, you would not feel it being recessed for as long as you don't compare with Midcentric models. Use the right nozzle and tips, MP145 will not be sibilant
hi Andy, the m15 and fc6 can drive the mp145 well? in your scoring system the mp145 is the no.1 IEM no matter tribrid, single dd or planner IEM? Thank you.
More than capable. With headroom, dynamic authority, synergy, sound richness, FC6 is about the very best you can get for dongle DAC. M15 is also great but not as rich sounding as FC6. Remember, both FC6 and M15 are more than capable to drive well even HiFiMan HE400SE Stealth, which is more demanding than MP145
@@AndyAudioVault Thx Andy, compared to moondrop variations is it a significant upgrade to mp145? for me variations have good sub bass and clear treble and mid, however not smooth as dunu sa6 mk2, sa6 mk2 more focus on treble and mid .😉😉
Andy, is there a source to buy replacement Hidizs eartips? In one day I've already torn one lol. I can't seem to find them anywhere online. Or is there another eartip that you recommend in place of the originals?
Hi andy, LETSHUOER S12 14.8mm Planar Magnetic Driver IEM vs Hidizs MP145 which one is better ? Please suggest as both are in same price range with magnetic planer
i could cry T^T i'm willing to save up some money for this (and maybe fosi audio ks02) but they just look honking huge. and the nozzle lip being nearly 7mm?! can you recommend another iem at a similar price point and similar sound characteristics? it could be any driver, but i like your description about it being a speed demon across the frequencies, but still a deep and vibrant sub bass. no matter how good it sounds, i'd regret buying it if i can't wear it for more than an hour. please recommend a similar iem, but smaller in overall size and a nozzle diameter less than 6mm. thank you!
@@AndyAudioVault i looked them up. and my god, the accessories alone look worth it. but i'm looking at the graphs and the other reviews, the s2 seems shouty at the upper midrange. now, i'm not familiar with what sounds fall on the graphs, but i'm sensitive to upper female range/ electric guitar screech. like, i love adele, but on extended listening, my ears get tired with her higher tones. i'm severely tempted. but if there are no new iems similar to hidizs mp145 within 2 months, might just buy the delci.
Thanks for the review , The mp145 looks very promising , But I'm afraid to buy it as it might have planar timbre that never seems to make me get lost in the music.
That's why we have many to choose from. You don't like Planar type of sound, don't get it, not liking BA sound, stay away from it. The good part is that we have so many to choose from now, what works for some, will not work for others
Depends on your ears really. Different ears require different type of tips. For my own ears, KZ foam tips works best, but may not be necessarily working for others. This is something that the user need to experiment and only your own ears can decide what works for you
@@3Nano9 Ah you mean monitoring. MP145 is V sound curve so while it may sound amazing for music listening, I would prefer something flatter, like Kinera Idun Golden or even Tanchjim ZERO. I use Sony MDR7506 headphone now for monitoring where I edit sound profiles, I need the uncolored accuracy for best results
Hi sir Andy! I hope this comment finds you well. I'm debating as to what DAC I should buy: iBasso DC03 Pro, DC04 Pro, VE Megatron, VE Prime, Moondrop Dawn Pro, or Tanchjim Space. I'm looking as well for an iem that could pair the DAC well, worth around 20-30 usd only. Can you help me decide in this matter? Thank you so much and have a great day!
For up to $30 your choice will be limited as none of the DACs you mentioned are priced under $50. You could probably get JCally JM6 Pro or Abigail Pro if you want to keep it below $30
@@AndyAudioVault I apologize if that was constructed poorly. What I meant was if there is a recommendable iem for around 20-30 usd only. With regards to DAC, I'm now torn in-between iBasso DC03 Pro or DC04 Pro. I've learned of their differences in tuning through your past review. Say, for a starter like me should I start small with DC03 Pro or jump right ahead to DC04 Pro that has more future proofing if I am to anticipate using balanced plugs in the future. I'm not inclined to change DAC until it gets outdated. Now that I think of it, can you recommend as well an iem and/or headphones that could pair well with DC04 Pro worth around 100-200 usd? I'm thinking of Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro.
@@dxvedits7051 For IEMs under $30, my vote always for Tanchjim ZERO, Simgot EW200 or FiiO FD11, can't goi wrong with any of them. Get DC04Pro all the way for future proofing, and you will be happy
@@AndyAudioVaultany experience with stop or non stop playing with the white noise for burn in IEM? I guess my phone cannot be lasting for 2 days non stop playing.
@@AndyAudioVault oh, awesome! I just bought the mp145 because of you, but idk, i might return it and join the kickstarter for the mp143 if it's better or almost the same. Really looking forward to your review!
I can't give you a straight answer to this as I love both equally. For they are equally matched and I have declared in my 2023 closing video that both are No.1. Both are equal with soundstage and imaging, the main differences would be A5000 offer stronger V sound curve and MP145 offer slightly faster dynamic transients (because it is a planar), the A5000 however has a bit more of airy decays (because it is a DD). Sorry I just can't really say which one is better over the other
Not sidegrade. To mr MP145 is a prime example of excellent tuning for magnetic planars, definitely an upgrade over Timeless. MP145 just only dwarfed by the S12 2024
I am confused between Simgot EA500LM and Hidizs MP145..... Please guide me to the right choice..... Note: I am a normal listener, I am not a specialist🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@AndyAudioVault thanks man, after using hidizs mp145 for so long i came back to tanchjim zero. Now i appreciate why you love the tanchjim zero. It's very calming, chill and has good details. 😊
Personally I choose SIVGA Nightingale over those two, I use it more over anything else. But if I have to choose between MP145 and Origin, then I will stick with MP145
I have a Tangzu Wan'er, I want it for iPhone, and I searched on forums about dongles, and nothing, so I came here, which one is the best? Apple dongle, jcally jm07l or jm08l, could you help me?
i suggest you may want to invest in better audio recording for your video because as an audio channel we can hear all saturation, sibillance and background noise of your current audio recording setup ;)
Are these as relaxed as the Tin T2? I know these are different classes, I just ask because I've heard reviews describe the T2 as chill, but in my own experience it's treble can edge into harshness. The IEM I'm saving for is either the Moondrop Kato or the SeeAudio Yume Ultra II, but after watching this review I'm feeling seduced by the Hidizs MP145's transient performance - attack, stage and imaging are the most important to me.
I am not familiar with T2. But from what you mentioned, it seems that you have high sensitivity to upper frequencies. MP145 is a sparkly sounding IEMs and that is to be expected of any IEMs that offer amazing transient responses, the likes of KSE1500, Etymotic ER4SR, Final Audio A5000 all are speed demons. But, going back to MP145, this is where the Red Nozzle would probably work for someone like you, it offers some dampening but does not sacrifice the speed. Also, it would appear that you may find Tanchjim KARA to suit your needs, it is among the ones that I like for being fast yet smooth. If you ever listened to HiFiMan HE400SE Stealth magnetic planar headphone, MP145 has similar sound to that unit, except that I would say MP145 is a better sounding one between those two. hope this helps
@@JoseFerreira-zb7wh I tried the blue foams that came with the T2s, but unfortunately I just couldn't get a proper seal with them. I think they were a bit too big. Out of all of the tips that were included in the box (there were a lot, at least seven pairs including the foams) only one of the silicones sounded good. Every other pair sounded dead - so much so that I regretted my purchase until I came to the good pair. So I find it easy to believe that there are tips out there that would make the Tin T2s sound better for me.
Only you can decide that, if you like highly technical sound presentation with the best transient speed, MP145 is the best. But you must also consider the appeal of P1 MAX2 Panda for being slightly better on natural timbre and sound texture. Figure that one out and you will have your answers. Both MP145 and P1 MAX 2 are well tuned to be energetic V sound curve IEMs
@@AndyAudioVault I live in Indonesia. There is no way to try an IEM before buying. Must buy. I am from the 70s, I want as close to Analogue sound as possible. Sounds like Panda then? Presently having trouble with my dongle, it's making me dizzy, I can't stand it. It make no sense. It's not properly recognized by any app, Hiby, fiio, eddict, etc, they see it, I click add, then it is gone, a loop asking me to add the thing. It was playing only in lowest relolution, then on Hiby, I selected 24-192 output, and now on any of these apps, now the light is orange, which means above 384. Even 16-44, shows as playing at that resolution, above 384 . If I use standard android player, the lights are correct for the resolution, cyan for 24-192.etc, but I though android won't play that resolution? So now I can't play my dsd because it is audible that it is coming in pcm, even though I choose native.. Etc. Etc. There is no one to help with this. I must bust my skull trying to figure it out. I am too old for this nonsense. I just want to listen to my music, big problems. 😂😂😂
Totally different tuning. Explorer is Harman tuned with heavy emphasis on Subbass and mild energy and speed where MP145 is the exact opposite. MP145 is a classic V sound curve with nuch faster and airy transient speed (Pace, Rythm and Timing) and more emphasis on Midbass/Lower Mids
I apologize for the poor MIC quality. And thanks to the feedbacks, I have found a great MIC that will solve the issue for me. Thanks!

Yr reviews is really awesome n seriously for the 2nd batch thingee, I can't even bother . Just like what yr advise is. Just swop the filter, end of story. It's such a pair awesome IEM . Awesome. Enjoy your music!
The best audio review channel hands down. Amazing work, Andy! After I watched your review I bought these along with the Hidizs S9 Pro Martha and I have no regrets they sound incredible and they’re now my daily drivers. Thank you!
My pleasure. You have a great weekend there!
First, you convinced me to purchase the final A5000, and it has become my daily driver. I resisted buying the MP145, but I succumbed to temptation😅 and received it last night. The sound quality is impressive.
That's awesome 😎
Hi Andy! I bought the mp145 after your review. You did a great review as always. Excellent analogue - Speed Demon. This is the second product I buy based on your recommendation. The first one was FC4. Thanks for your work.

sweet review Andy I feel like with this IEM will replace the Shuoer S12 I given away last year
I love mine, had them for about 3 weeks now, using Edge EQ extension for TH-cam set to "party" and it's super lively and engaging without being harsh.
Just got mine today. They are VERY bulky but sound amazing!

They have a winning product! Woah

Cool review. Let’s wait for the planar from Fiio.
Thanks. I really do need to replace my current MIC. The one I am getting is on order and I hope that one will serve better. Cheers

Hello Andy, loving the MP145. Is there an IEM that sounds the most similar to the MP145 but in a smaller form factor and less power hungry? Thanks
Easy. Final Audio A5000 is small and running on 16 Ohm, so it is more efficient than MP145. Both shares similar sound, perhaps A5000 a bit stronger with the V sound curve
Thank you for always good reviews.
Thank you for your kind reply.

My preferences:
- forward and engaging vocal
- treble not piercing or shouty
- high quality bass
- similar or higher quantity of bass as T3+, not a basshead though, just a bass enjoyer
- overall better technicality than T3+
Genres: R&b, soul, Indie bedroom pop, hiphop
I've also tried:
- Moondrop Chu: Too flat and the bass is too low for me
- Zero: RED (with the bass boost adapter): Better bass and less forward vocal than T3+. Overall not enough of an upgrade over T3+ for me
These are what I'm considering:
- Hidizs MP145
- TANGZU x HBB Wu Heyday
- Tripowin x HBB Olina SE
- Ikko OH10
- Truthear Nova
Ignoring the price difference, which IEM do you think best matches my preferences in overall?
It is in my wish list but I am not sure when I can get one to test and review
Hi Andy. Is your MP145 in titanium or silver finish? As always, thanks for the excellent review.
Silver
thanks for the review Andy
how is the mp 145 in combination with ovidius B1?
B1 will enhance airy decays and speedy transients for MP145 while keeping it musical and analytical at the same time
agreed re: planars 100%
Oso to say from a non audiophile background, just a metal music lover. And first time using a IEM. The sound from this mp145 compare to xm5 wireless (oso my fav) is like the sound of wood rather than electronics. Say eg. Bass guitar. Just a 20c imho. \w/

In terms of rating on magnetic planar IEMs , with your new rating system how much would you rate the Celest Pandamon since it was also one of your recommendations for best IEMs 2022 Mr. Andy?
It's a 4 Star performer by current standards

Lovely!! I will have a look at them. Thanks Andy.

DC04Pro (4.4mm BAL, Slow Filter) would suit MP145 more. But in all fairness KA11 and KA13 does good job too with MP145 since it is such a versatile IEM. DC04Pro offers a bit more air and openness and resolution too

Hi Andy, may I hear your experience on how is MP145 running with UA4, compared to pairing with DC04pro? Is the difference big?
MP145 with UA4 can be a bit too energetic for my taste, you can get better results if you pair it with EPZ TP50 or ONIX Alpha XI instead
Now, the only available budget DAC dongle he has are:
JCALLY JM25,
JCALLY JM45 &
JCALLY JM9.
Can you Please suggest which to choose that has both DAC and AMP function with over 1.6Vrms of juice just like JM6 Pro?
No. Only JM6 Pro and MEIZU has 1.6 VRMS. Otherwise you should be good with JM9
Great review and likely another wallet bleed! Pls elaborate how recessed the mid is and is it consider sibilant? would it pair well with Cayin RU6
Remember, both FC6 and M15 are more than capable to drive well even HiFiMan HE400SE Stealth, which is more demanding than MP145

no matter how good it sounds, i'd regret buying it if i can't wear it for more than an hour. please recommend a similar iem, but smaller in overall size and a nozzle diameter less than 6mm.

What's the BEST eartips to match the MP145, Andy?
Depends on your ears really. Different ears require different type of tips. For my own ears, KZ foam tips works best, but may not be necessarily working for others. This is something that the user need to experiment and only your own ears can decide what works for you

Hi Andy, please compare hidizs mp145 with S12pro Letshuoer as they both are planer magnetic and comes in same price bracket.
S12Pro and S12 is practically the same thing, so the score remains the same for S12Pro
Hi Andy, which one would you recommend between moondrop blessing 2 and this one?
MP145 no doubt
Glad to hear that Andy. Thanks for your the speedy reply. Enjoy your day and Merry Christmas 😊
Will you be reviewing the MP143 Salt that's coming in the next few months?
Yes, I have one with me now and plan to release my review on the 8-9th
@@AndyAudioVault oh, awesome! I just bought the mp145 because of you, but idk, i might return it and join the kickstarter for the mp143 if it's better or almost the same. Really looking forward to your review!
Amdy bro which 1 is better between mp145 vs final A5000 . Specifically in soundstage and imaging?
I can't give you a straight answer to this as I love both equally. For they are equally matched and I have declared in my 2023 closing video that both are No.1. Both are equal with soundstage and imaging, the main differences would be A5000 offer stronger V sound curve and MP145 offer slightly faster dynamic transients (because it is a planar), the A5000 however has a bit more of airy decays (because it is a DD). Sorry I just can't really say which one is better over the other
fiio q11 sufficient to drive this mp145 with 4.4mm balanced output? with the tripowin petrichor ?
More than sufficient, especially from the 4.4mm BAL
Hi!. Blue color version IS the same than your iem?
You mean the color of the shells? I would assume the color is just cosmetic, the internals should be identical
@@AndyAudioVault thanks i will try it. Do you think need burn in?
Hi sir. What plug is recommended for mp145? 4.4 balanced or 3.5mm?
I have ibasso dx160 dap. Will it be enough to drive the iem? Or do i need additonal dac(dongle)?
DX160 has both 3.5 and 4.4 ports, use the 4.4mm side if you want 100% power for your MP145
Will this just be considered a sidegrade if I already have the 7hz Timeless?
Not sidegrade. To mr MP145 is a prime example of excellent tuning for magnetic planars, definitely an upgrade over Timeless. MP145 just only dwarfed by the S12 2024
What budget DAC would work best with this iem (under $50 Canadian dollar)?
For that budget if you can get EPZ TP20Pro, that would be perfect. Also consider Venture Electronics ODO
@@AndyAudioVault thanks so much for the recommendations!
I am confused between Simgot EA500LM and Hidizs MP145..... Please guide me to the right choice..... Note: I am a normal listener, I am not a specialist🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you can get MP145 then it is a better tuned IEM overall compared to EA500LM (which is also already a great sounding IEM)
I already got mine i used the ibasso dc 04 pro. Is this the fully potential of hidizs mp145?
Yes it does, DC04Pro on 4.4mm BAL and High Gain is already optimum for MP145
@@AndyAudioVault thanks man, after using hidizs mp145 for so long i came back to tanchjim zero. Now i appreciate why you love the tanchjim zero. It's very calming, chill and has good details. 😊
@@AndyAudioVault did u use fast roll folter for ibasso dc 04 pro and hidizs mp145?
What you gonna choose mp145 or tanchjim origin?
Personally I choose SIVGA Nightingale over those two, I use it more over anything else. But if I have to choose between MP145 and Origin, then I will stick with MP145
@@AndyAudioVault thank you. So your basis is not on the rate sivga 83, mp145 93, origin 92.
I have a Tangzu Wan'er, I want it for iPhone, and I searched on forums about dongles, and nothing, so I came here, which one is the best? Apple dongle, jcally jm07l or jm08l, could you help me?
For Apple Lightning, JM08L
@@AndyAudioVault thanks bro
i suggest you may want to invest in better audio recording for your video because as an audio channel we can hear all saturation, sibillance and background noise of your current audio recording setup ;)
Thanks. I'll be looking to do that
Are these as relaxed as the Tin T2?
@@AndyAudioVault Thank you for the detailed reply Andy!
Have you tried foam eartips with your t2? it becomes much more balanced, boosting lower frequencies and lowering higher ones. A must.
@@Mageoftheyear i have to insist for you to try foams. aliexpress has some smaller ones for the cheap. they seriously transforme the iem.
Hi andy, does ua4 good for this iem?
Technically yes they pair well, a bit bright and less analog sounding, but amazing with dynamic transients and resolution
@@AndyAudioVault thank you andy!
Will compare letshouer S08 vs MP145?
Yes, working on it
@@AndyAudioVault niiiceee!
wow must be fast if it compares to an EST like the KSE1500 🤯
Yep, very close indeed
Which dac/amp do you recommend for this iem?
HIBY FC6, Questyle M12i or Aune Yuki
@@AndyAudioVault Thanks!
@@AndyAudioVault And... CDA M1P?
Kefine Klanar VS this, what is better??
MP145 is the best of all planar IEMs I have tested so far, including over Kefine Klanar and many others
@@AndyAudioVault ok thanks, I'm looking for a good planar driver, and I'm putting this on my shopping cart list
Your's is 3.5 or 4.4 bal version?
Initially mine was 4.4mm stock, then I use several cables both 3.5mm SE and 4.4mm BAL
@@AndyAudioVault I'm buying 3.5mm SE version
Tangzu zetian wu VS this, what is better?
If you mean the purple Zetian Wu, then MP145 is a superior IEM to me
Hi. Will it work nicely with Jm6 pro
Yes it will
@@AndyAudioVault so it's not to hard to drive?
@@fuzail3379 Yes, but like I said in the video MP145 will only get better and better the more power you feed into it
@@AndyAudioVault it's just not convenient to use big dac. Light weight Dongles are easy to use. That's why I asked. Thanks Andy.
@@AndyAudioVaulthey what dac amplifier would you recommend for around $10?
second!
Mp145 vs T AE ?
Vs Timeless AE? I would not know as I don't have Timeless AE
S15?
Haven't tried S15 yet
Was great value at $110 when first came out but now a price bump
At released time, it came with promotional discount for quite a while, so the early adopters all get this for reduced price than the MSRP
Wish I could buy these but i am broke
This or Panda 2?

Hi #Andy
Vs Aful Explorer?
Totally different tuning. Explorer is Harman tuned with heavy emphasis on Subbass and mild energy and speed where MP145 is the exact opposite. MP145 is a classic V sound curve with nuch faster and airy transient speed (Pace, Rythm and Timing) and more emphasis on Midbass/Lower Mids

Which might be better upgrade for EW200?
MP145
I have an ea500, can this be an upgrade or a sidegrade of the ea500?
As much as I like EA500, this MP145 is undoubtedly superior in every way. A clear upgrade in terms of sheer performance and quality
thank you, maybe I will consider buying it, because judging by several reviewers that I watched, they said that the price performance was good
how does the overall technical and timbre mp145 compare to the ea1000?
MP145 has a bit more of technical edge over EA1000. Timbre wise, about similar, just that MP145 still has superiority with transient speed and air
Thanks for the review ! Is the red the right side and blue the left side ??🫣
My pleasure. The red is always Right side and the blue Left side
