Justin Turner is just what the doctor ordered. A right handed platoon third baseman. Still draws walks. Can play first base. (Rooting for Locklear but not sold on him, particularly defensively). Really impressed with Garcia. He has a big time fastball. Have to give J and J credit. Their trade deadline deals are a report card grade A
What happened to Gilbert yesterday? It was BP for the Sox! Only positive, we scratched out 7 runs which wins us the game 9 times out of 10. Offense still hitting some.
I still see a good opportunity for an infielder. Could Polanco not get kicked to third if you had Brandon Lowe? In that situation could Rojas take SS reps away from Moore? I don't know, man, I still really like Lowe and I love dealing with the Rays. Edit...much of what I typed was discussed almost immediately after I finished. Lowe and Fairbanks would be earth shattering in my book.
Glad to see the front office improving the team the vibe even with the loss today felt different..I got a feeling that we’re gonna get hot right at the time to make a run..
Mariners will finish 3rd place within our division. I hope I'm wrong. So we really can't make any good deals before the Trade Deadline with the lower teams?
what options do you think there are for short stop? i’m not feeling optimistic about jp and i don’t enjoy watching dylan moore or leo rivas playing ss everyday
Yes Justin Turner is exactly what the doctor ordered for this lineup. He is a total professional hitter and has a GREAT track record of performing on the biggest stages. Anyone who hates this deal just isn't thinking in reality.
Do you guys consider Victor Robles likely to start regularly (against righties and lefties) the rest of the year? I was surprised you guys think an outfielder addition makes sense given Julio, Randy, Luke, and Victor being on this roster
I'm not "you guys" but I think Robles should not be counted on as a regular. I believe he has made some legit changes to improve his offense, especially EV and hard hit issues. But I'd be shocked to see him sustain the numbers he is putting up right now. Raley platoon at 1B with Turner and DH on occasion. Grab Hoerner or Andy Ibanez.
Clearing the farm out is not a good idea. Schreck was pretty good in college. Not sure this one is just another trade we will regret. Just say Ketel Marte.
@@redjetsen1002 2022 we got Cole Young and Locklear.. 2023 we got Pete, Farmelo, and Emerson (just in the first round). You can’t expect draftees to make an impact for 2-4 years depending on if they are college or HS
These guys think they are stars or something. I’ve asked them about 10 questions on here and twitter (mostly Ty) and have NEVER got a reply. Brady Henderson, R Sherman, and others reply to THEIR subscribers. But these guys think their to good or big for that. 11k subscribers lol 😂jokes. Unsubscribed. They give opinions. No connections. 👎🏽
Tell me what to think please, so I can repeat your words tomorrow as my own, cheers
Same
😂
Basically like what we did with Santana 2 years ago. Veteran experience, older player, can help get through the slumps

I think the attitude is: Be happy achieving the 3rd Wild Card....Hey we need to start winning the division as a goal instead.
I have to imagine players like Y Diaz, Christian Walker, Mountcastle, Taylor Ward, Taylor Scott are available, go get one of them.
They he didn't perform extremely well, don't forget that Robles has won a World Series!
"Part of the Ship, part of the Crew" Its funny as I thought the same about post season experience being added.

Jerry Rice to the Seahawks vibes

Rengifo and Ben Joyce would be the perfect last bat and arm to add. I think we win a world series with those two.
Does this mean we’re done with getting Garver ABs? What are we doing with him, giving up?
So how expensive would Rooker be? And is it even possible with the As?

Cleveland just got lane thomad
At first I was bummed when I saw the turner news, but then I heard about his numbers…and I’m pretty excited. He’s a great add for nothing!
Let’s see how handles the batters eye at TMP before we get too excited
"You cut me deep just now. "
Paul Dejong?
I'd be happy with that move
Go get another productive bat please
I wanted Turner last year too
Gets on base and hes clutch

He's practically a player-coach lol
He'll put together good at bats, no one looks forward to facing Justin Turner, even at 39 years old
I like it in a vacuum as a quality hitter off the bench or to help play 1B, DH, or 3B.
Well CBS Sports has the Mariners being Losers. I agree
Well if CBS Sports says it then it must be true
11-1 in the 5th versus Boston. Looks like we're back to being the Mariners now that we're playing a real team.😂

I think at minimum he's played his way into being a 4th outfielder but I think he could get the majority of the starts in right field.
Dipoto did well with the realities of this market.
Great addition, I really want more moves
Colby your mic! 🥲 make sure to have a bit closer to you 🤗
And they’ve kept the starting rotation in tact.
I’m cool with the add but I still think we need a real 1B but there is not really any starters available
Clearing the farm out is not a good idea. Schreck was pretty good in college. Not sure this one is just another trade we will regret. Just say Ketel Marte.
The 29th ranked prospect is not clearing out the farm. We haven’t traded away any of our top ten besides Clase..
@@redd392 Dipoto makes more trades than are needed. The prospect he has drafted in the last couple years are not spectacular.

@@redd392 yes I thought Cole Young should be the starting shortstop and then trade Crawford for pitching or a slugger
Get yandy diaz
I agree with this, and I think Diaz would complete the trades, at least for bats, especially with Rooker and Vlad out of the market
Vlad jr?
They'll keep calling about him, hope they come back to a Vlad trade in the off-season tho
Crawford has sucked batting and defensively

Now all we need is pitching..giving up 7 in the 3rd inning and more in the 4th. What a bum this Gilbert guy is! ;) jk. Baseball happens
On the plus side, we can use Woo as a bullpen arm in the playoffs as we only really 4 starting pitchers then
What about Ryan Mountcastle. I heard he might be available.
Good player but old but definitely better than locklear
