I don’t care what anyone says.
Stupid analytical stats like launch angle has really hurt batters efficiency.
These guys are constantly trying to lift the ball instead of just making solid contact.
Batting average has continued to decline because of this.
Too many guys swinging for the fences, instead of trying to make solid contact.
That’s just one old guy’s opinion
Oh, and let me add, as a Yankees fan, this team drives me crazy!
    18:07 LOL! My guy Joez!

analytics is ruining football too. So many teams going for it on 4th down no matter their field position. Its pretty common sense that unless you are getting trounced by 30 points in the 3rd quarter you punt on 4th and 16 on your own 20 yard line. But not nowadays! The computer says go for it!

    • @DeepfriedBeans4492
      @DeepfriedBeans4492 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

What makes getting more contact the peak of efficiency if it's at the cost of quality of contact? They don't go off of analytics at random for funsies, they go off of analytics because they prove that playing in a certain way leads to scoring more runs. Now yes, offense as a whole is going down, but that's because pitchers keep throwing harder and with more spinrate, not because hitters decided to be dumber.

Remember, the guards are the best and that’s after losing Bieber for the season and Williams for the first half. We just made two trades that fill the holes. If Cleveland was the best before, there’s now no debate. But alas, no mention at all.

In 2022 they put a humidor in each ballpark. Thing is not every ballpark needs one. Places like colorado had some video game stats and earned theirs. If you put a humidor in each ballpark though it returns the advantage to the hitters park. If everyone has a humidor then no one has a humidor. Sure offense will be down on the whole but the advantage will be there for the small park. The humidor was supposed to even out the offense not depress it in every park.

It's interesting, going back and watching the Yankees Orioles game you can see every single symptom that plagued the Yankees through the world series. It was just bad baseball, all of their focus is in their batting and in two maybe three pitchers. Their field work is terrible.

The pitching thing was actually shown in a manga called One Outs. In the manga, the main team's owner/player had his players pitch the ball at full speed. when it was his turn to pitch, everyone had been given so many fastballs that when they tried to hit his ball, they were unable to do so. I think we are seeing a real life version of this happen because pitchers are taught to toss fast in the MLB so now it's starting to affect batters

Offense is down but we still have all these high scoring games with football scores. It's like nowadays they either strike out or hit home runs. I don't remember seeing many high score games when I was a kid. It was rare to see a team score 17 runs in a game. Now you see last place teams scoring 20 runs in a game. Hardly anyone bats over .300 anymore. The game has changed so much over the past 20-30 years.

The batting average is miss leading. Teams are more focus on base percentage and teams are scoring more because of it. There is actually more offense with lower batting averages. I remember when a hand full pitchers threw over 100mph. Now it seems like every other pitcher can pitch a 100mph fastball.

Seattle has ZERO guys over .800 ops. ZERO good hitters and they are in the playoff race. That's how bad the MLB is right now. The 2 defending champions will miss the playoffs. It feels completey randomized, and just low-quality in terms of lineups. There are maybe 2 lineups that actually make you want to watch the games on TV right now.

I'm starting to suspect the umps are widening the strike zone at key moments and that's affecting overall batting averages. I don't have any proof but just that it seems like when there is a mistake by the ump, it's more likely to be a ball called a strike than a strike called a ball. It could be that balls in the zone are less likely to be taken and therefore there's fewer opportunities for the ump to call a strike a ball though.

Pitchers leveled up. Meanwhile hitting focused on homers, making for terrible swing habits. Homerun hitters always have the worst strikeout stats to go with their homers. Make everyone attempt to be homer hitters, but aren't, and you just get poorly-arced swings that miss more, instead of folks hitting through the ball. But even then, pitchers have too many better pitches now they're fine tuning with analytics.

He looked mostly the same, but had FOUR (4) arms that he used to steal milkshakes from unsuspecting patrons, thus the "evil" moniker. In the years that followed, TEG either gradually changed or had a come-to-Jesus moment, but to be sure, he changed for the better, i.e., to the cute, cuddly, affable, and lovable Grimace we know today. Thank you for reading, and please help spread this message of goodwill.

And, finally, after making them run ladder sprints in front of the paying fans, bench the lazy. You know, play baseball. The actual game. Not the 'internet presence before effort' or video game versions. Problem solved.
